Because the more you are familiar with the sports league you are watching the bigger the chance you can win on your bet placed on the team you like. Familiarization on the league is important especially if you watch the games everyday because you would provably know which team got the advantage to win on that particular game. Unlike other sports you didn't follow where the chances to win is so slim that's why majority pick those sports which caught more their interest.

Because it's only in sports betting that the results can be predicted and don't completely depend on luck, it's very different from casino games which completely depend on luck, although there are some games that also require a skill.
Even though every result is not always on the favorite side, in sports betting, bettors often do it because of their preference for an athlete's club or another, so when betting there is an emotion involved in the hope of seeing the club or athlete they like win the games.
Maybe there will be casino game lovers who find it strange for those who bet on sports betting but it can also be the other way because everyone has their own thoughts based on their preferences.

when someone bets only on some sports bets not on all types of sports bets the reason is they only know and have a lot of knowledge in that sport. if, for example, we often bet on the Premier League, of course we already know all the English league teams and of course we know the specifications of the entire league. and if that person insists on betting on other sports betting for example in the NBA, he has no experience and knowledge of NBA matches and it is impossible for people to bet without predictive analysis that they already know.
so the answer is quite simple and I also do this when I rarely bet on other sports due to my lack of knowledge.

Because you know the sport and you find the sport interesting, basketball, UFC and Boxing are three of the sports that are very popular here n our country so its easy for me to bet on these kind of sports because I can easily relate

That's not true upsets rarely happen, and the competing team can only become 50/50 when both teams are strong, people bet on sports where they can analyze competing players or teams and they have a chance to win, sports betting is gambling but compared to luck based games our chances here depends on how you analyze the games and you can only analyze the if you have a genuine interest on the sports.

If it was in relation to betting, then no, I don't really prefer one over the other. They're all basically the same game of chances and judgment anyway. If it was regardless of that, then it's because I enjoy the sports itself. Sports gambling in general is kind of like a side bonus for me really, I just really enjoy watching the sports (eSports to be specific) itself plus the way some commentators do their work which makes watching the game more enjoyable. I've also invested a considerable amount of time listening to the stories for each tournament, what each team went through, and the matches that they experienced, they all just combine and make up what I enjoy about watching and betting on.

I think it depends on each person choice, there's someone who love football, there's someone who love basketball, and other sports, but soccer are very popular and big for every country in the world. They're already follow their own team when he was a kid, so they will stick with that's sport and will not looking to the other sports because it's small and their friends don't really love with that sport. Busy and limited time are also few reasons why they will not look into other sports.

In my opinion, the reasons for betting on a particular sport, I think everyone has the same reasons, users do that, we have different hobbies in each type of sport, such as we like boxing, football, basketball and so on, but users who have these hobbies don't necessarily like sports like volleyball, tennis and so on.

We are aware, someone bets / gambles on certain types of sports based on their experience and level of understanding of these sports, why are we wasting money or betting on sports that we never understand at all, gambling and betting on sports that you are good at and understand are better.

There's no better reason reason than this. Maybe we could add time constraint to the decision making. Many of us have other more important things to do and only spend an hour to gamble. It's better to use that to pick what you already know rather than exploring other sports using that limited time.

This is true but that doesn't mean you just have to pick a side that has a lower chance of winning. It all depends on the risk you are willing to take. Sometimes I also bet on the underdog because I believe he has the capability to win and that's completely different from betting on the underdog just because he could get lucky.

I think this comes from what kind of sports you are around when growing up. Football and basketball are two sports that are the most common and where being played the most during high school. I even played them myself in a team for a few years. And went regularly to the stadium with my dad and uncle to watch our home team play. So in university whenever my country was playing in a big tournament everybody would bet on the matches. I kind of grew into sports betting and never really considered to bet on sports that I have no clue about. For me sports betting is a way to try and make better predictions than the majority. If I have no clue about the sport I have to rely on the odds from the bookmakers. But when I am familiar with the sport I can try and take advantage of cheap bets.

The idea of favoritism is enough to explain things. Would you bet in a sports you know nothing about? More likely not right? u less you will have a tip or the matched is fixed, wherein you could seek for profit rather than enjoyment. But most of the time, a gambler would bet only on sports wherein he/she enjoys watching and ofcourse making profit from. It would be a combination of profit and entertainment. Recently, my favorite league and sports would be MLB and esports, I usually stay away from MLB but these past week or so I've been riding a few teams from their hot streaks with success, it won't last long though as the bookies will eventually catch up and correct their odds.

Passion plays a key role in my chosen sports. I will not bet on sports I don't like or am not passionate about. My gambling life is driven by the combination of entertainment and financial benefit. I will also stake in games that give me happiness or entertain me to a large extent.

I also don't just bet based on baseless speculation or hearsay. I have to analyze my games which will assist me in prediction. If this is the case,  I need to have a deep understanding of the sports I want to gamble on. So except I have an average understanding of particular sports, I will not favor them or stake in them.

Another issue again is timing. Football is my favorite because the games are usually played on weekends when I am not at work. The timing of the football game gives it an advantage over other sports.

Little I tell you, I am a football lover. in my country, football is more popular than any sport there is. maybe if I'm not wrong, we are among the 5 countries in the world that are the most fanatical about football. so, it's only natural that we love this one sport. plus, when I was young I also played football.

Well, why do I like to bet on football. yes, one of them is because we love it. also, I studied a little with formations, systems, patterns, whatever it is, I have a little knowledge and insight about it. so every time I make a bet, the first thing I check is the team that will compete. even though we already have all the previous information, we still need the latest information, whatever it is, including who the coaches of the two teams will play and this assessment is important to me, including being considered at a later stage.

Actually, what I'm doing is quite complicated, but I'm used to it. all into consideration, and finally look at the available odds. if it's not relevant, I'll look at other options. not to forget, I also compared the results of community analysis. so in essence, if you want to minimize losses. we must involve insight, knowledge, analysis and foresight. the rest, let luck decide.
One more thing, in this process, for me it became very interesting and challenging, there was an adrenaline rush when watching the course of a match.

It's because someone who's into one sport and focuses on it has got a lot of edge due to his knowledge and understanding of that sport. Even me, if I'm aware of the sports that I'm betting on, I understand that there's a better chance to win there because I know the ins and outs of it.
I'll make myself keep updated on things related to it before I cast a bet on any particular match that I'd be interested in. Because if you know the players and people that you're placing your money and their opponents, that's an easier guess with some thoughts on how your bet can potentially win.

Most likely has to do with their knowledge of that sport.  The more you watch and are interested in a sport gives you a slight advantage to know when you shoukd or shouldn't bet.  If you don't watch it, you have no way to know if a line is favorable or not.  I got to think that's got to be it for most people.

I guess this is pretty much easy to answer as its only wise for you to go stake on sports you are familiar with but sometimes the sport you feel you know too well doesn't yield any good outcome after putting your money there. I sometimes try other sports like basketball and baseball although I have no much experience on these sports so I just go with the lower odds provided by the bookmaker and hope on the one true base to anyone actually winning a bet which is luck.
