I guess it will be more odd if you just bet even if you don’t know the whole thing about that sport, it’s like putting yourself at its losing end even if the betting has not yet started. That’s why most of us here would only want to bet on the games that we are also familiar of, on the game that we have certain favorites that are most likely to win and manipulate the game. You know, it’s useless to bet and put your money at risk when you don’t have any idea of the game you played, you are increasing your risk of losing, even though some games like this would still end up uncertainly.

True, that's correct. Betting on real life events is much safer since you can make predictions based on your knowledge of the game, rather than relying purely on luck-based gambling. I believe people favor specific sports because thats where their strenght lies. Like every other field, the biggest way to earn consistently from gambling is if you focus on your strenght. And this is where the specific sports come in.

For some, Tennis is king
For some, they are prolific at basketball bets
For some, Volleyball is theirs

I agree with what you said because in this case in sportsbetting there is a condition where our probability of winning can be increased by some analysis and matches made. although in this case we cannot rule out luck too but still there are some conditions where we can make a win with the research and confidence we do in betting because we really believe that we bet can get a win.
I do sportbetting more specific to soccer especially for the big leagues such as the top 5 leagues and Champions League and sometimes win even though it is luck based but I benefit more in sportsbetting than other games such as cards or slots.
