In boxing it's much simpler as you have less matches in a year and the big title fights is only between two people. Which also means that it's harder to stay uptodate on the boxing news as there will be much less coverage in the time between the fights.   

I think ESPN covers a lot of that if I'm not wrong. One can easily get the basic stats from player profiles and news and analysis of upcoming matches from their website, and there are a bunch of other websites that one can use to get news, information, stats, and analysis about UFC and the matches. I'm personally not so keen about the sport, but I think one can also get a slight idea of how things work if they watch some matches from the past or some that happen.

The fact that there aren't a lot of matches of UFC in a year makes it easier to follow up with the matches and to stay up to date with the changes and facts that may affect the performances of specific players.

Personally I do not like to use social media in order to get that kind of information, and that is because in there you will find all kind of rumors with very little facts, which will just confuse you even more than what you were before you began reading those publications, but another reason is that several of the good sources of information try to maximize their profits by publishing this information on several videos, and watching those videos takes a lot more time than just reading that information and coming up with conclusions on your own.

At first I would like to ask you a question, do you really have passion for this sports you are about getting involved in? As I know, it is only passion that drives actions. So if that be the case and not for the fact that others are into it and making huge gains and you want to jump in to it because of that reasons then it is where I literally think you got it all wrong.

If you feel you are ok and your passion for it is in accordance with your drive for boxing games then I would advise you just like others have already done to go source for YouTube videos of good fighters and their past matches to study their percentage level of wins and pattern of fighting techniques they use. Yes you are right that mate and trough internet we can acess everywhere anytime on what we want to acess. Like for example if we want to see the matchup of our favorite Basketball team because we make a bet for them then there's an internet that can bring us the live show. I don't think that online sports betting was much of an option back then when people used to read newspapers to know what was happening around them, most people at that time used to gamble just within their own circles since there weren't a lot of bookies or platforms available to place bets just like there are these days since gambling has gone too far nowadays.

I am not op but you still need to know at least something to weed out that misleading information from your feeds. You need to have know how to prioritize good sources and you can't do that without knowing a lot about that area. And if you can do that you are a "Pro" in my eyes as a sports noob. I guess being "pro" always means being step higher then you actually are if you are being modest.
