I do not think a noob can become a pro so easily.  We can have the information yes but it needs a lot of experience to become a pro.  Information alone cannot make a person or a gambler a pro unless he had tested the information and experienced it many times.

In addition, I don't think that getting updated in Social media will provide him valuable insight about many sports in order to bet: if you know the same as most people know, you will have their same results, and most people don't win. Yes you are right joining groups and channels is a great way to get updates on the sport the OP wants to get or follow on sports social media so you don't miss any information on where the OP will be placing his bet on a particular match, be it UFC or otherwise, but keep in mind that every bet without knowledge will give us a big risk.

depend on what social media you re referring and who are involved , Mate remember that in social media now leakage are happening , and in internet there is no impossible .

As you said, maybe it won't let us predict 100% correctly, but at least we can study the strengths that will compete and predict who will win in this match.
