Do trade when you know what you doing and want to gain a profit over time
do invest when you want to HOLD for a long period of time

both of them have their own risk so choose carefully, tho most people that I know is do both of them trade/scalping for usually altcoin and invest on bitcoin for long period of time

I just thought of it today, I think all trading are investments but not all investments are trading. Tho trading and investments are two distinct approaches on how manage your finances, to both you have to consider your risk tolerance, your expertise in trading/ investing, and your goal. In investing, usually it takes years where you have to hold your invested money and wait for the return. You can just leave it there or find an expert who can monitor your investments for you and you'll just have to wait for your profit.

Trading on the other hand requires skills and deep understanding of the market. I doubt experienced traders would prefer to let someone else do the trade for them? I mean, it requires active involvement to the market so you can be sure that you are not being left out. Trading, most of the time, is short term because you can receive returns relatively quick from price swings.

It would be wise to have knowledge in both. Like don't put all your eggs in one basket perspective.

Learning and trading actually are still different. We may learn how the basics go with trading but when it's come to the actuality, a lot of things changes.
We have to deal with the reality that it's really different from what we've learned through the theoretical way.
If you're too emotional and not prepared for it, your experiences could be the reason why you want to stop trading and choose the investing way. But even with that choice, it's not an easy path as well.

this much is actually the truth, sometime theory isn't gonna fit with practicality and what really occurred in real scenario, some time the technical analysis become useless when there's sudden rumour going around in regard of the coin that we are trading and investing, its just really obscure overall in determining how the market will actually moves.
therefore second plan or back up plan is always essential and needed because our trade and investment could definitely go wrong.
added with the fact that sometimes there is manipulation occurring if you are investing in relatively low market capitalization coin.

Right, if we're going to apply theories and stats, sometimes they don't just align and what we need to do is to go with the actual situation of the market.
And sometimes it's the vice versa, on this matter what you need to do is whatever works for you. It's your money and you need to know what's best for you in that case.
Having back up plans like if you're a trader and you think that you'll not end up with being good at it, there's always the other way through investing.

In my opinion, for long-term investment, instead of one coin, your capital should be divided into different coins, so that the loss rate can be minimized.

7-10 years is already that too exagerrated on which i would really be definitely be saying that 1-2 years should be an enough window for you to be able to have that right experience towards this market and it would really be depending or varying on how serious and how many hours you've been dealing with trading and its true that learning could really be acquired through real experience and not just on reading up some books or seeing some youtube video or simply it is something that you could really only gain with your own experience towards it. Somewhat having that a decade kind of engagement is really just that too much of a standard. If you do last up that long then this do indicates that you are really that doing well with trading because you wont really be lasting up for couple of years if you arent seeing something progressive towards your career path.
Trading or investment? It would really be your choice to make but if you could really be able to handle both then why not as long you do know on how to manage your finances and could be able to sustain

No need to research anymore, long-term investment is certainly the choice is Bitcoin and you can also choose ETH as a second investment option because you see how ETH's potential in the future is quite good, experiencing significant development and always following the price of Bitcoin.

For the trades you make, it may be very appropriate when the market is hyped and some of the coin volumes you want to trade are large enough so that price movements will be faster.

Taking profits in a few days or trade scalping mode may be more suitable.

but quite fairly speaking the altcoin volatility isn't giving that great of a margin unless its some real high volatile coins like meme coin in general.
moreover altcoin in general are also following the trend of bitcoin, i've seen countless altcoin that was supposed to have volatility just stagnating because waiting for bitcoin trend to change.
therefore if its just mere volatility bitcoin actually already good enough for it but the advantage of trading altcoin is due to the fact that its value per unit is significantly cheaper so with small capital you can gain massive increase since doubling the value in altcoin is easier than in bitcoin I guess.

you are right, and the risk is greater when we don't know what we are doing. like a beginner who wants to try trading without any skills or experience. forcing myself to make a trade because I think it's very easy. Totally Trading has a greater risk but if you know about it you can easily make a profit in a matter of hours. Tho some new users dont know about trade just go all in on the futures market that going easily to beat in an hour too hahaha.

If I share my experience, I have been in the crypto market for almost two years.I am also investing and trading but often I face loss in trading.It doesn't mean that I am not giving time to trading but I am giving good amount of time to trading and also trying hard to learn but I find trading much more difficult than investing.We always invest in good and strong coins rather than volatile ones, we don't worry if the price drops after we buy,but this is not the case in trading, we always choose a coin to trade which has high volatility and if ever its price falls below our buy price,So the risk of loss increases for us, because nothing can be said about the future of this coin.

So, we cannot keep trading coins for long. In a year or two, you can understand the crypto currency market, you can understand investing, but understanding and doing trading is a different thing. Our goal in trading is not just to trade. But our aim is to make good profit and to make good profit requires more experience which I think you will hardly get in two years. It is different that different people can have different mental capacity. Some people can learn to trade in two years, but some people may take longer to learn, but in my opinion, the longer the experience, the more mature and better the experience.

My answer to the question will depend on what area I have found myself doing, that is favorable to me. I can't find myself losing in either one of them(trading or investing) and I still decide to keep up with the one I am losing from more than the one I am gaining from. I will move on fully with the one I know how to do best.

I believe that out of all of my experiences with bitcoin, investing in it has been better than trading on it. This is due to the fact that I am more knowledgeable about bitcoin investment than I am on bitcoin trading. Investment has been best for me since I know about crypto.

Everyone's brain experience is the same or different. But i can say that bitcoin is best for investment or long term holding but above all profit depends on how much dip opportunity you can buy bitcoin. Moreover bitcoin will give you a lot of security and your money will be safe because there will be no issue of scam here. So if the crypto market is in your favor it is possible to get dip price from bitcoin so you should be alert. However with crypto you can't go out of risk so you have to experience and deal with risk.

On the other hand i think trading is not good for newbies and especially diving into trading from bitcoin is more risky. So you can practice trading from other coins if you want and start trading later when it is available to you. But certain pairs need to be supported and equipped with fundamental analysis of such exchanges. Remember you need to extra time and risk is required to trade. Definitely the schedule of a person really tells what he should do that is either trading or investing. Now for trading you need to give specific time to the market. Do daily readings and need to do analysis of the coin. Now if we talk about investing, then here you only need to buy the assets and hold it. Now trading have higher returns but with higher returns, high risks also come. So according to the risk capabilities also, one can choose either trading or investing.

Forget about intraday or short term trading in BTC because it's more difficult than stocks, futures or forex, and you will need a solid trading strategy and years of experience to make profits intraday trading cryptos.

I will usually say to go for investment because through investment yes you will make money but it will be late but your chances of losing money will be very less if you invest at right time.  It will make you profit but it will take my time and you will be less likely to lose money.  Above I see traders who trade very fast in a very short period of time as well as they lose a lot of money.  To say that those who are trading from the beginning, from the beginning, in my opinion, are at a loss, and after gaining experience, they gain.  Many of them come out of the trading world due to financial problems.  But investments are not like that, in investment you will earn only waiting for time.  For this I would always go for investments.  Because in my opinion it is better to get rich by slowly saving wealth properly than not to become a poor by trying to get rich very quickly.

I’m not good at trading and I’m not the type of person that’ll be keeping an eye on the market because I easily lose focus when everything gets bored or don’t work in my favour. Well, this depends on the individual either trader or investor, their skills level, the market they engage themselves in and a lot of other factors. If you are someone who is more concern about the future and planning for long time, investing will work well for you because trading is for short time and instant profit with high risk involved compare to investment. It's necessary to have idea and knowledge on whichever you choose but investing require a little knowledge and you can begin your investment because it has less risk. Trading require a lot of experience and skills before you can be able to start and your success is still not guaranteed due to high risk involved.

If you are thinking of investment, never consider altcoins as you may likely lose your money. Forget the hype some of them are getting from media. it all comes down to personal liking, whether its trading and investing, if someone is vigorous enough to see the chart whole day 24/7 then they are fine with going with trading otherwise they could invest as a side earning.
with trading you can make big profit, but with big risk also requires you to mentally exhausts yourself.
meanwhile with investing, its as simple as just to wait until season changes. i personally would prefer to invest instead of trading since i'm not really good at it.
moreover i don't really want to make my head aching thinking of chart 24/7.

In my opinion, investing or trading bitcoin both have their own advantages and disadvantages. Because of these two things (investing and trading) many people have proven and felt the benefits. So it can be concluded whether it is investing in Bitcoin or trading Bitcoin, it is still a good option to earn profits from Bitcoin. So basically it all depends on your wishes and abilities regarding these two things.

But for me personally, I prefer to just invest. Because investing in bitcoin doesn't take much time. Because currently I also have other activities. So choosing the investment path for me was the right thing. Additionally, as far as I know, the majority of bitcoin investors on this forum say that investing over a long period of time is the best way to get maximum profits. So I personally also agree with this. Because as we know, bitcoin has a clear cycle, such as halving which usually occurs within four years. In addition, after the halving cycle is always followed by a bullish market. Therefore, long-term investment in bitcoin, in my opinion, is the best thing for bitcoin investors to do. Because bitcoin does have a regular cycle every four years.

And for trading I like to do it on altcoins. I also do it over a certain period of time, not in a short time, for example not in a week, but for months. Because if I do daily trading, in my opinion I need very large capital to be able to get significant profits. So for trading I also have a time period of months.
