@OP -- Read https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2415854.0 mainly point-3
This area where you posted is for Bitcoin only, as pointed out in the above link that means you MUST use an ASIC-based miner - anything else is beyond pointless.

Any other type of coin is called an Altcoin aka crapcoins because of their low value. Most if not many can be mined on a PC with a decent GPU.  If you want to mine altcoins there area for those is https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=160.0

edit: I see the mods moved the OP's thread to where it belongs  Smiley

Hello, i am new to the Cryptocurrency sceen and i am wondering what cryptocurrency requires the least amount of computing power to mine.

You don’t need a powerful computer to mine. You can mine anything but the speed will be slow and you will barely make anything.

Right now mining is very unprofitable. Even with a high end CPU you barely make anything, same with an expensive Nvidia GPU.

When ETH went POS a few months back the profitability just tanked on everything related to GPU mining.

Hello, i am new to the Cryptocurrency sceen and i am wondering what cryptocurrency requires the least amount of computing power to mine.

Buddy, if you want to mine cryptocurrencies, then you need cheap electricity and equipment: ASICs, video cards and more.

If you are interested in such mining, then this is not really mining
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5449551.0

Another option is the CHIA coin, which is mined on hard drives, and mining does not require powerful computers and enough home outlets, but the profit there is very weak now.

Mining cryptocurrency with a low-spec computer can be challenging, as the process requires significant computational power to solve complex mathematical problems. However, there are some options you can explore if you're interested in mining with a low-spec computer.

One option is to mine less popular or newer cryptocurrencies that require less computational power to mine. These cryptocurrencies often have lower difficulty levels, which means that they can be mined with less powerful hardware.

Another option is to join a mining pool. Mining pools allow you to combine your computing power with other miners to increase your chances of successfully mining a block and earning a reward. By joining a mining pool, you can effectively pool your resources and increase your chances of earning a payout.

It's important to note, however, that mining with a low-spec computer may not be profitable, especially when considering the electricity costs associated with running the computer for extended periods. Before getting into mining, it's important to do your research and ensure that it's a viable option for you.

Hello, i am new to the Cryptocurrency sceen and i am wondering what cryptocurrency requires the least amount of computing power to mine.

Your question isn't as simple as it sounds.  There are all sorts of different coins you could mine, but in the end it depends on if you want to hold the coins or hold BTC.  You can use a service like Nicehash to mine using GPUs but get paid in Bitcoin.  They have a program that will even switch to the most profitable coin for you.  I assume when you say least computing power, you mean most profitable.  This is another good resource to check out: https://whattomine.com/

Your computer doesn't matter much to be honest.  It's mainly about what GPU you have and if it is profitable to use.  Check out whattomine for that info.

Hello, i am new to the Cryptocurrency sceen and i am wondering what cryptocurrency requires the least amount of computing power to mine.

To mine some cryptocurrencies with the least amount of computing power you need at least one GPU in your PC,even if it is your home PC,as long as you have a GPU that is 1660 or higher level of Nvidia and if you have Rx 500 series from AMD you can try several coins and see if you like it.In case you do you can then add GPU-s as per your budget to build a full rig which you can manage. However right now no single coin is profitable and you will see this reflected in any information website regarding this issue like whattomine mentioned already here and many other calculators. So for the time being if you hopefully have a GPU from one of the above you can start playing with it.

It all depends on the configuration of your computer or server OP.

As the others have told you, it's hard to make a profit with old equipment and still pay for your electricity at the moment. OgNasty gave you the only really useful link to answer your question, because without knowing your GPU or the price of your kw/h, we can't really advise you, it's a too vast subject and there would be dozens of potential answers to give you.

For example, if you have an old CPU, you could always solo mine XMR and hope to get a block by some miracle, but it's not worth it if you're paying for your electricity.

At the very least, you could use HDDs or SSDs with Chia farming or to host a Storj node, but that's no longer as profitable as it was a few years ago - it's hard to get into the business and make a real profit, especially with a small amount of equipment.

I think that now it makes no sense to even start mining coins on such cards, because these video cards are unprofitable even with their own power consumption or  do not pay off. If we add the cost of a computer here, then this is an absolutely irredeemable process. It's better to buy $100 worth of coins and not torment computer hardware.

Hello, i am new to the Cryptocurrency sceen and i am wondering what cryptocurrency requires the least amount of computing power to mine.
Mining with low spec computers can be challenging and may not yield good results. Because mining requires powerful hardware with high capacity which is highly needed to solve complex mathematical problems. Computers may lack the processing power and expertise needed to effectively mine currencies. When using a low spec computer for mining it is very important to consider the power consumption and potential return on investment. Low spec computers usually don't get good returns so a powerful computer should be used.

If you decide to use a powerful PC for GPU and CPU mining, then after using the calculator you will see a payback of more than 5 years, because you need to consider the cost of the entire PC and not the CPU and GPU. And there are additional maintenance costs. This is the rookie mistake. And on the old PC, the profit will be measured in cents per day.

Mining with low spec computers can indeed be a bit challenging. I've tried it myself, and let me tell you, it's not always smooth sailing. But here's the thing: it's not impossible either. Sure, you might not get the same results as someone with a powerful setup, but if you're patient and willing to tinker around, you can still make it work. Just keep in mind the power consumption and potential return on investment, so you can manage your expectations.
What difference does it make on which PC to start mining?
On a weak PC, the electricity bill will be more than the profit from mining, on a powerful PC there will be a very long payback period. In good moments of the market, it is profitable to mine on a PC, when the profit from the processor and video card gives 4-5 dollars per day, but now there is no such income.

Currently it is not possible to make good money mining without using ASIC based miners.  Mining cryptocurrency with low-spec computers may not be profitable there.  There are many coins for mining but no other coin can give good profit except bitcoin, ethereum litecoin.Mining is not a profitable business now, as the machines required for mining are very expensive which not everyone can afford.  I think mining with low space computers will be really challenging and more likely to fail at some point.

Is investing in mining with a payback of several years a bad business? Mining on computers has long ceased to be profitable, but the exception to this rule was the purchase of laptops for mining Ethereum. Beginners will not be able to compete with the big mining giants, but with cheap electricity, they can look for profit in altcoin mining.

there is no such things low power mining, at current moment. even newer tech became more and more efficient but people keep pushing to their limit is naturally happen, hardware cost + electric cost + space
will drive to maximum ceiling to limit where there is no point adding further from considering the risk management and your wallet  Grin, some people doing dirty job stealing electric and some people build hydro generator which is feasible in their places, you cant compete with them at bear market
