Time is a good attribute for a bitcoin trader and so is attention this are all good characteristics but you are forgetting probably the most important thing and that’s capital, you need to have funds to trade, and for a those who don’t have any other source of income or haven’t yet gotten sufficient funds(win or lose in trading they won’t be broke) then you can quite your job for it if you want to, but for an average bob i think it’s taking a step too far.

I believe in being selfed employed but if you must quite your job it shouldn’t be for trading, it’s really an unpredictable(very risky) venture you would probably need to have other sources of income to fall back to.

You're still young like you mentioned. Better save up for your white collar work and keep at it instead of resigning to trade. I am going to tell ya that it's going to be a mess once you started trading Bitcoin. I did day trade back in the days just like the story I mentioned in every trading related discussion and believe me that you'll be hella exhausted at the end of the day and it ain't just worth it.

It's possible like examplens mentioned, but it is going to be a sloppy experience for ya. You could do trading as a side income as long as is it not breaching your contract in the company you're working at. If your 9-5 is not really paying well, it might be better to just job hop.

From my point of view it will never be right. Trading is a very risky business. To survive in this business you have to survive through profit and loss. If we are not comfortable with our jobs due to a terror boss or toxic environment, then the best thing that we can do is to find another job. OP, I think Bitcoin trading is profitable to some old traders who have had a better experience, but beware; of the fact that about 90% of crypto traders don't only rely totally on trading; some of them have other investments, and some of them also have Bitcoin in their portfolio, which they are holding. what the OP can do is check first how he will perform in the trading market as a side job. been years here in this market, and i would say, i won't advise a newcomer to quit their stable job and go into trading. it is always best to have a stable job even if we say the income is not great, but it would give you peace of mind that you have regular source of funds to keep your lights turn on.

I dislike these questions a lot, because it always asks "can" and not "should". Can you? Yes you can. Should you? No you should not. Trading as sole income is something that gradually happens over course of many years, because you work at a job, and you trade at the same time, and at first you do not make enough income as your salary, and then you start to get your trading income close to your salary, then it reaches the same values give or take to your salary and then it passes it.

Yes I completely agree. Seasoned traders are the one who can make profit on trading cryptocurrency in any type of market. In short they know what they are doing and I think that it is the minimum kind of skill you need if you want to consider quitting your white collar job. We all have different mileages on trading and how confident we are on our skills but if you want trading to be your sole source of income and your still asking this kind of question to get validation to public, I think you are still not confident with your own skills and I personally don't recommend to just quit your stable job to just trade. That should rely on your decision after comparing both, but however in my case, I will never quit my full-time job and focus solely on Bitcoin trading due to the risk in cryptocurrency, especially if  I am earning better wages/salaries  from my place of employment. No, this is not safe at all, in order for trading to become your sole source of income you will need several things, to begin with do you have the capital to even attempt this? Can you live with only the gains that you can produce out of this market? And even more importantly how much money do you think you can generate each year?

A low projection would be a 20% gain per year on your capital, this may seem low but if you could generate this amount of money on traditional markets your door will be torn apart by investors giving you their money so you can trade in their place, so 20% is a decent amount, can you live with just 20% of your capital? If the answer is no then regardless of how high your trading skill is you will surely fail if you quit your job to become a full-time trader.

We have heard this before, there are beginner traders in 2017 wherein they thought that they can just make huge money on trading because that time we are in a bull run. Yes you can but it would be taking lots of years and experiences for you to make yourself that sustainable and this is why its never been that considered on doing so when you are still tending to learn or simply newbie into it which it would really be that not simple as it sounds or looks. I would never say it’s safe unless you have any other stable source of income that will generate money for you when trading itself starts not working out on you. Though it’s undeniable that lots of traders have been very successful and have finally reached to where they are right now, but know that everything they pass through have been very hard and risky. You don’t know how much they have lose first before you see them succeed. And note that not everyone is capable to trade and destined to end up trading successfully, others may be good at their performance at first but still end up quitting. That’s how hard and risky trading is. So if you think you can still manage those risks and pressures, then go and take the risk in trading but keep your job first until you see yourself earning well from trading.

Working from 8 m-5pm and doing trading after getting home for at least 2-3 hours, well, that is pretty enough. Because trading doesn't require a whole day facing on the computer and even if you are a full-time trader, nobody is doing that for sure. It is really all about managing our time properly and if we can get on the schedule. You can do whatever you want OP. You need to be at the pro-level of trading in addition to having made profitable trades before making a decision to quit your job. Since a trader cannot be an alone identify yourself with other traders in the community who are way higher an above you before thinking about.

I'd say do not be in a hurry. The universe will bring it to your consciousness when it is time to move fully into it and by that time, you wouldn't need to ask anyone because you would feel ready, and everything would be in place for you.

If yes then you're an expert then because you aren't losing. . Are you ready just incase you experience losses because even experts experiences losses in trading.

Like you, I also thought of the same thing when I was starting in trading. What if I stop my day-to-day job and just focus on trading? I also have the same questions as you are. Few weeks after that, I started trading in futures because I know that I will not earn that much in spot trading. First few days I was profiting, but after that, I made one wrong entry, forgot to put a stop loss, and got liquidated. My days worth of profit just vanished in one wrong entry.

Personally, I would advise you to always have backup plans if you really want to go full time trading. Can't be applied to those who are not happy now with their jobs. It's really hard to make Bitcoin a source of income as it depends on what the "work involved" is.

Well, for you, my suggestion is:

If you think you are really good at crypto trading and you can take it as your full-time job and you have all the privacy, and facilities to work from home or from anywhere as a crypto trader then it all depends on you, means what remains there to stop you doing it. Hard to be on situation where we can't earn anything when we are bearish on our trade so I bet much better for us not to focus only with trading since there would be a chance that we could lose everything in bad market movements. In my personal opinion, if you let go of jobs in the real world and switch completely to bitcoin, such an action is not the right thing. That mindsets are common to everyone, if trading is a safe venue to make money for a living for sure, most people, if not all

Agree. Everyone will rely on Bitcoin trading as their main source of income if it is easy and there is a guarantee for profits. Although it requires sufficient knowledge and experience, people will try to live with trading. But even you have enough knowledge and experience, there is no guarantee for profits and the market is always difficult to predict. So, there is no way to make Bitcoin trading as a sole source of our income. I think it is ideally as an additional income.

For beginners, Bitcoin trading doesn't deserve to be the source of income. Unless they get profits, they probably get more losses during learning trading.
