What I did is? Letting my Wife handle all our funds and just allow Her to give me my weekly budget to gamble , in that way I managed to maintain my spending amount and only that I need to decide when to stand while winning .
nowadays I have learn my ways and yes she do not need to give me my allowance for gambling because I understand how much i need to gamble and also I know when to stand from table.

It's not impossible, but you're not really have a strong commitment to only use the amount you've set up and back to home when you're already lost it. I also see that way, if that particular friend is busy and there's none to talk the chance to go back and keep playing will lead you to lose your bankroll, or in worse scenario you already lose your initial capital then you will add and deposit more to keep playing thinking that luck might be there somewhere and will allow you to recover and win some decent amount before quitting.

Yup, anyone who’s gambling since long knows this for sure or at least had a worst experience someday to pull themselves together. But at least she had a friend to turn to when things got worse so she could turn her attention to talking to her friends. This is good because he is still sober and can call a friend to help him turn his attention to gambling. Meanwhile, other people just continue to gamble and will not try to stop for a moment.
