Bitcoin vs XRP?

I have neither of the above but am leaning towards XRP.

I believe Bitcoin will reach $100k next bull run but that is less than a 4X from current price.

I have been researching more into XRP lately and have read price predictions ranging from $5 to $100 next bull run.

I dont believe XRP will reach $100 or even $50 next bull run but feel like it could reach $5 which sounds conservative compared to all the predictions I have heard but is still a 12X from current price.

I am leaning more towards XRP purely for the better possible returns. I do believe Bitcoin is here to stay but less than a 4X from current price doesn’t appeal to me.

This is my first bull run coming up and I want to put a lot of the profits I make into Bitcoin in the 2026/27 bear market to then possibly cash out in the 2028/29 bull run when Bitcoin should at least be around $200k.

Thoughts on this? Anyone more into XRP or is everyone here pro Bitcoin?

If altcoins prices are falling, they fall more than bitcoin significantly. If altcoins prices are rising, it is also more than bitcoin price price. But altcoins can disappoint because some do not get to all-time-high. Some that you think will rise than bitcoin may not.

The price bias is driving your decision to lean towards XRP. Bitcoin has been around longer than any cryptocurrency which is in use now and has had better price appreciation, to several thousands of times it's initial price, it is only normal that the price would not multiply as it used to in the very early years and this would push investors to try to catch the next coin early on and benefit from it.

I would always pick Bitcoin for more reasons than just the price, it's the one of the only few decentralized coins, with the highest level of security, making it the best choice for long term investment, around 10 - 15 years or more, I cannot bank on any other coin which is in circulation now to remain in circulation at that time.

Mate, what you must know is that the price of these altcoins always pumps when the Bitcoin price is so bullish, and if the Bitcoin price doesn't get so bullish in the coming Bitcoin halving, that means you will not even see XRP at $1.5, which is not going to give you the X12 profit you want. If you are still a newbie in crypto, I understand why you are still concerned about altcoins, but if you must know, when refilling your crypto portfolio, Bitcoin is what you should consider first before adding any other token or coin that you are really convinced you want to buy, but don't really be overly confident about the token because you might not get the result you actually expected. Bitcoin has two seasons, which are the bear and bull seasons, but altcoins don't have any seasons; they only follow the trend of Bitcoin, and some times they may not even rise when Bitcoin is in a bull market.

Judging by your assumption and prediction, which led you to your conclusion on how you mapped out your investment plan, you made a profit from XRP and sent it all to Bitcoin. This is just all illusion, which can lead you to a very high possibility of losing all your investment capital. This is just a sign showing that you are following up on one big influencer or all this pump and dump group that is always dropping some kind of future coin prediction.

My advice to you is to please do your own research regarding any crypto that you want to invest in. Who else know that PEPE will do as high as it has done right now... Why will you even have to compare PEPE to Bitcoin, pepe is a meme coin which don't actually have any fundamental that's backing it up, all I see that's holding such coins are just the attention and hype that's it's getting from investors and the project developer all over. A coins which one see with a higher profit always ends up to be the one with a greater risk. You should always be careful to choose what can keep your funds safe rather than something that you will buy hoping for greater profit why holding you end up losing everything to dump.

I still prefer Bitcoin over XRP and I believe Bitcoin will give me a huge advantage over XRP. Maybe XRP can go up to $5 in the next altcoin season but if you can save bitcoins at a time like this, I think you will make a big profit in the next bull run.

But this is just a suggestion because the decision is yours and if you really want to buy XRP instead of Bitcoin, you have to be careful because if the price of Bitcoin falls like it is now, it will affect many altcoins, including XRP.

But still try to have Bitcoin as your long-term investment so you won't be disappointed if the Bitcoin price can penetrate the old ATH and create a new ATH later.

Yes, because everyone makes money with altcoin pumps /s. Always remember that trading is a zero-sum game, in which investing is not. If you're confident that you can outperform other people with altcoin pumps, then go ahead. As long as you pick the correct ones in the huge ocean of alts that isn't even going to get any public acknowledgement at all.

Because there are still many who are pro against bitcoin, so there will be many who are against underestimating the benefits of bitcoin.

Meme coins are hype that can be manipulated by influential people so that they can produce more but keep in mind meme coins will not last long and of course they don't always repeat the same history whereas bitcoin always has history made so that's what we believe in bitcoin.

Nobody knows when will bull run will be apart from the speculation narrative. Well, XRP might have the chance to get into that price but not leaning more towards at old coins, I'd give a chance to the new ones. My speculation is that the clear path with them against the SEC will make some timing for the next bull run and that will turn them too bullish that it could reach that price.

Yes, the price of Bitcoin ATH will be above $100K in this halving season.
Having said that, it is very insulting to the name, potential, and record of BTC to compare or use the word "BTC vs XRP" because XRP is not a crypto every genuine enthusiasts ought to invest in, go and do your homework. XRP was not created for the purpose of the crypto community and that's why the dev team hold atleast 45% of the coin till date.

XRP is a centralized coin that's always used by the team involving to manipulate the price and enrich their own purse. Of course there's chance for it to reach $5 but if you want a guarantee secure investment in crypto go for Bitcoin.

There is obviously no doubt that altcoins can make you more money in the short run since they have small values, and it is easy to double a $5 price while it isn't the same for something valued at over $20k and once touched $69k, so it is obviously rubbish to expect too many folds from Bitcoin since it provides less risk as well and we all know that there is more reward if the risk is higher.

Any altcoin is prone to face extreme downtrends and sometimes even become totally worthless without giving you a hint. Remember what happened with LUNA? It was once one of the top altcoins out there, so what makes you think that wouldn't happen with XRP? Still, the choice is always yours as it is your money.

I would still choose bitcoin as a long-term investment because bitcoin's historic performance and pioneering cryptocurrency position make it an attractive choice for many investors, including myself. Most of all, bitcoin can cause price fluctuations for almost all altcoins, including XRP. That case is serious for many sides. SEC, Ripple XRP and cryptocurrency industry at a wider scale.

If SEC fails, they will stop or at least have to reduce their non sense attacks on cryptocurrency altcoin projects.

If SEC succeeds, they will escalate their attack on altcoin projects more seriously.

It looks like SEC will not succeed in the law suit against Ripple. At least so far they have no solid reasons that can help them to win the law suit with current active laws and regulations in the USA.

Everything that compares to bitcoin is lame in the crypto market, looking at the way you mentioned it I see the problem you're talking about here about them is about spending them profitably with both. . I find that the goal and strategy with any coin will bring different profits and risks, and the predictions about the future are really too vague and unconvincing, we all believe Believe that bitcoin will increase over time and with it, the altcoin market will also increase. And bringing them on the scale to compare profits only makes many people stuck in their inexperienced strategies, I think it is necessary to look back at the problem to optimize their own profits, about the idea that I built after my experience in this market is accumulating more bitcoins over time and when the bull season really clears can move the bit/altcoin trading pair to maximize profits, and then it's still cashout or accumulating more bitcoins at a lower price than the ATH they generate.

Take Bitcoin, it's the one that's driving the market and making the price of altcoins higher too. If it's not for Bitcoin, alts like XRP won't go up, and even if Bitcoin goes up, a huge tendency that these alts won't go up as well. We've seen on the 2021 bull run, Bitcoin went high but then XRP didn't move to another ATH and that's because there's something that stops it and that's all about its SEC case.
If you think that's okay as an investor then push what you think and what you want to see to your portfolio. But, if you'll listen to the suggestions of people here then you'll start to buy Bitcoin regardless of the situation and then comes next XRP for which is what you really want to have.

I don't think, your prediction on XRP will happen this year 2023 because whenever the price of Bitcoin is pumping other cryptocurrencies price will be pumping too to allow investors to prepare well so that they will not regret when the price hit $100,000 in the future. You can invest huge amount of money on Bitcoin and little on XRP, because sometimes altcoins price used to take some long time before the price will start rising in away those that invested in the past will start experiencing positive results from their investments. I think, the price of XRP is still low in the market, and it will be favourable if you can use this period to buy XRP and hold like 3 or 4 years before you can sell.

well this is why OP is asking here in Altcoins section because she/he wanted to earn support and not criticism from bitcoin supporters though he mate a comparison and enough for bitcoin supporters and XRP critics to take place.

I don't think, your prediction on XRP will happen this year 2023 because whenever the price of Bitcoin is pumping other cryptocurrencies price will be pumping too to allow investors to prepare well so that they will not regret when the price hit $100,000 in the future. You can invest huge amount of money on Bitcoin and little on XRP, because sometimes altcoins price used to take some long time before the price will start rising in away those that invested in the past will start experiencing positive results from their investments. I think, the price of XRP is still low in the market, and it will be favourable if you can use this period to buy XRP and hold like 3 or 4 years before you can sell.

Well I am not agreeing with you entirely but what you say is true. You will probably make much more money investing in Alts rather than Bitcoin because the market cap is lower.

Sure, altcoins have more room to grow with one bull market as they have lower marketcap. But why Ripple from all the altcoins? Imho it has no future, it had a purpose as moving coins cheaply between exchanges but now you can do that with L2, so ripple is kinda useless. If it's more gains you are looking for you most likely do that by going lower on top marketcap coins. Even midcaps can do fairly well if you choose the right one.

It all depends on you because its your money to be spend or invest.We do have different considerations on whatever coins which we do saw does have that kind of potential when it comes to price increase or shoot up
on upcoming bull run. If you do prefer on earning 10x or more then Bitcoin investment isnt for you but if you do like to stick into somewhat safer investment then Bitcoin would be the viable choice to make.
Honestly, we have tons of coins in the market which we could really make out some investment on which it would really be that normal that we do go after on something that could give us out some bigger profits.
So its up to you whether you would be touching some altcoins or not. For XRP then i dont know if their current case or issues had been solved out or not but on the time that it would be cleared up
then for sure it would be making up some pumps but im not into something which is centralized.

If you ask me, Bitcoin would be my topmost priority and there are tons of reasons as to why. But that doesn't mean that I'd also ignore and let myself miss out on the good potential profits that XRP has to offer.

What I'm trying to say is that you, OP should not let greed cloud your decisions. taking risks is good and all but taking risks that are calculated is even better. You should not take those predictions seriously at all, a quick look at the charts of both of those coins will tell you everything that you need to know, bitcoin surpassed the ATH that it reached during the 2017 bull run, while XRP failed to do so, meaning that anyone that invested on XRP at the peak is still losing money, while those that did so in bitcoin made a lot of money already, if that does not tell you everything you need to know about XRP and bitcoin then nothing will.

You are right except for the volume. Xrp being the 6th ranked coin, means that its volume is also high. It is very liquid and easy to sell because every exchange has an xrp on them but this is not the reason why xrp is in-demand, but it is due to the fact that it is fast. I rarely experience delay when using an xrp but I notice lately that the fees in xrp is getting higher.

Now, I need to pay over 0.2xrp to make a transaction but before it was only 0.0xx. This didn't prevented me anyway to use it. It was still cheaper compared to other cryptos but when it comes to investment purposes, nothing beats the original, that is none other than bitcoin.

Full return from our investment can be times two only. It's small and looks easy for the great altcoins that you mentioned. There is BNB but I know many people will comment negatively about it because of the anomalies Binance is being involved with. If Binance prove that they are not guilty, BNB can perform well and its potential can be higher than in Ethereum because its value is still small.

We can get the return that we want, as long as it was realistic. If we are not yet contented on Ethereum and BNB, we can move to the other top altcoins. I heard that Litecoin is getting some positive sentiments lately, so maybe we can add it in our list.

I don't hold any bitcoin either. We will be lucky to see BTC hit 100k this next bull run, which is a 3x. XRP has real world use cases and partners but they could drag the SEC case on for another three years if it goes to a higher court. In that case you might miss the bullrun and you would have been better off holding BTC. What I am doing is holding some XRP and looking into new projects launching in 2023, like Shardeum and Q Blockchain and buying up coins that are 98% down like Algorand and 0xMonero that haven't pumped yet.

It's a reserve, not a burn. Imagine just with that you stop any spam to the network, super speed transactions and paying less than a cent for each tx. Instead of paying 10 bucks each time you need to move your funds like other networks.

I cannot believe that there are still people who like XRP that is seriously difficult to understand for me. I know that there are some people who think that we are going to end up with the company owners trying to make XRP go up but we all know that they are not going to do that. The fact that XRP has been like that for a while and Bitcoin has been doing fine is the proof that we are not going to really see anything good come out of XRP anytime soon to be fair. I am not saying that people were mistaken for investing into it, they had an idea and a hope about it and they failed which happens, you can't invest with 100% success rate, some things that you buy will go down, or not go up as much as other things.

I would rather believe that if there's some flippening would happen then i would be seeing ETH would really be able to take place on what Bitcoin does have and not other coins like XRP which i could say that it is way

If you've been holding, it might be worth waiting until it reaches its peak and then selling to make a profit that makes you feel comfortable. One dollar that's what everyone wish for.
