When the whole Europe is on the verge of Recession, you will such kind of Bitcoin marketing. What you noticed is nothing new. Search the forum and you will find so many such marketing after the Russia VS NATO proxy war.

It has become a new level of Bitcoin marketing strategy after continuing fall of banks in the US. Expecting a few more banks going down in the European union.

and yet at this same precise moment..

imagine it this way, we all know fiat banks have problems. but in the UK its free and fast to wire transfer.
then being told bitcoin is better.
but then when people try it.. they end up not being able to pre guess a transaction fee, but be told the fee at the time of use, which when finding out its upto £50 they realise thats 10x worse then using western union, 200x worse then using paypal

then when they want to discuss it they are presented with idiots saying "no, nothing should be done it might die out in a few months. so try this other network instead.. or wait until the jupiter is aligned in the astro plains of capricorn to transact cheaply"

sorry but that also sounds like a bad proposition, promotional plan

Run an image search for this photo, and you will see a bunch of similar ads in European and other cities. The good news is that we can see this whenever someone says that Bitcoin is a bubble or a scam. For those who doubt should show this, hinting that Bitcoin is everywhere, you just have to raise your head and look.

Nowadays, we see all sorts of advertising regarding Bitcoin all over the place, in different countries and places, even in areas where Bitcoin is restricted. I really like the way the adoption is going and that more awareness is being created.

Only the person who took the original photo will be able to identify how that picture best fits in that area. There could also possibly be benches around the corner where people sit and have fun, which the camera did not cover up, or that place could also be a bus stop. Either way, the place is an open place, which means a lot of people pass through it every day, and the person who posted it sees the place as the best place for that. Even if one doesn't have enough time to stand and read through all the content in it, they could possibly take photos of it and read it through on their way home or even during their free time. There will also be people who will make fun of the image; others will also find it informative, which will definitely create a lot of awareness and let a lot of people know about it.

But funny enough, there are also a few Bitcoiners like me who have not actually read through the whole Bitcoin white paper; all I have been doing is going through a few posts where they post a few lines of the white paper information. I have downloaded the PDF but have not gathered enough time to read through it. If I come across such a situation in my street, it will really be a good opportunity for me to start somewhere.

Also in the same UK banks can freeze your account if they choose to, and you identity is required to open a bank account there by your blowing out the option for anonymity, same banks that you have to wait a while if you want to withdraw in cash huge amount of your own money, same banks that if they go bankrupt or some other negative factors affects it your money isn't completely safe.

I don't think we can speak negative about Bitcoin just because of the transaction fees inconsistent we are facing. When telling someone about the advantage Bitcoin has over the banking system there many points to begin with aside transaction fee, but the bottom line is that it's all about individual preference.

this is a bitcoin forum. people come here for real info not the fantasy platitudes of over promises and hope and dreams. there is no point lulling people to sleep telling them everything is perfect.. they dont need the promotion hype after already hearing the word bitcoin. they are already on this forum because they heard the hype. now they want the real knitty gritty..

so here goes. most newbies buy their first btc on a CEX or DEX(with escrow lock) and when seeing a high fee, they dont withdraw from cex/escrow. they instead wait it out using cex/escrow as a bank(custodian)

and guess what. those cex/escrows can steal, lose the coins too, yep here in the UK the amount of cases of peoples banks being raided and people losing their value is insignificant % but the amount of CEX custody coins being raided is higher.

all im saying is we really need to kicks some dev ass to actually evolve bitcoin becasue it has stagnated in normal people utility for years. the only main updates it has benefits corporations usage of subnetworks they want to advertise. while not really doing any benefit for the normal individual

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.

It means some are not accepting fiat and want to promote Bitcoin! Such hand written promotion proves that European are struggling. I mean these hand written placards prove the life of a simple family is getting destroyed. This is very similar to those seen after 2008 recession without Bitcoin.

Situation like this could have been avoided. US domination and control is so good that these European countries are still following it. What a soft dictatorship! It will prevail and it will thrive for many years.

I belong to the school of thought that celebrates every effort to make bitcoin popular no matter how small it might look. This advert might not attract a large number of people to bitcoin but one or two persons might pick an interest. Just for them to know that there is a currency called bitcoin is a big achievement to me.

I don't think we can speak negative about Bitcoin just because of the transaction fees inconsistent we are facing. When telling someone about the advantage Bitcoin has over the banking system there many points to begin with aside transaction fee, but the bottom line is that it's all about individual preference.
I also share your view because bitcoin has so many advantages over fiat. I had to wait for many days for a bank to confirm a transaction. And in some countries, the present transaction fees of Bitcoin are cheaper than fiat transaction fees. In my country, you have to pay very high transaction fees if you want to exceed the minimum deposit or withdrawal limit.

True.

What are you talking about? I am confused if you are in the wrong thread or maybe you have used ChatGPT to write this. Or maybe you forgot to quote someone's post? There was no handwritten promotion. Whatever, this promotion doesn't prove that Europeans are struggling. Same question again, How a Bitcoin promotion can prove that the life of a simple family is getting destroyed? Does it make sense to anyone?

What situation should be avoided? How a Bitcoin Ad is related to US Domination or European countries? Once again, Make sure where are you writing and what are you writing. Read the OP before you write anything. Don't use ChatGPT to write your content. Don't write irrelevant things!

It is true that this strategy may not be the most effective because of where it has been placed and how it may be difficult for people to read through at a glance which is something people like, to be able to read and get the major information meant to be passed by a poster or banner within the first few seconds of looking at it. If that was how this was, the number of persons that the information of bitcoins meets will be more that just this. It is good, but not good enough.

I am a supporter of supporting any initiatives, even if it is not implemented in the best way, and I think that this is better than doing nothing at all and being passive. Often I can grumble and criticize from the perspective of how it would be better done from my point of view. In the case of the poster, I foresee that no one will read the whitepaper in the street. This is not the right place at all, because you will need to strain your attention and concentration to delve into the technical details. Whitepaper is not pulp fiction to be read on a busy street with distracting sounds and surroundings. The next moment is a longread. No one wants to read such long texts on the street, especially in the age of youtube, clips and so on. Information about the whitepaper should be presented to the audience in modern ways. The ones they are willing to accept. For example, videos, games or quests. It was possible to divide the wall of text into separate pages and place it in one location with some distance. This would make it possible to receive information in smaller portions that don't cause rejection and repulsion. If a person is interested, he will go to the next banner, where he can continue his reading and familiarization with bitcoin. It is possible to draw attention to whitepaper on the street, but the text of the whitepaper itself is better to read in a different setting. To do this, it was possible to add a qr-code with a link on the poster.

Ultimately, this poster is still good than bad.

We already live in the digital age and online. Offline methods already work worse.

Good way to advertise, but not necessarily a great way to disseminate information about bitcoin and urge newer and potential audiences to take the jump and invest in it. With that being said this is still bound to interest a couple of people who aren't really that informed about bitcoin, some nerds who wanted to know more about it, and a couple others who are aware of what bitcoin is, informed themselves about it, but are just hesitant to take the jump due to various reasons. (I'd say they'll think this is a sign from the heavens or a higher power urging them to take the step towards changing their lives forever on some Law of Attraction bs) But whatever the reason and intent is for creating this ad, it won't matter unless it works. Since I haven't seen anything about it besides this forum and that particular tweet you sent me, I'd say we still need more time to cook.

We already live in the digital age and online. Offline methods already work worse.

Maybe not adding any links and qr codes was a good idea. Many people will look at such posters as if they were ads and adding links or codes could make these people believe they're being targeted or redirected. They might thing that somebody is pushing bitcoin into their pocket, the way street vendors sell you perfume or roses.

The way this is presented is fine as it can attract people, make them curious to know more, but also isn't too aggressive. I prefer this way of rising awareness than celebrities telling me that I should use this or that or apps and push messages finding their way into my phone without my consent.

I just hope that the people whose interest is tickled by such street promotion
can look past the currently high transaction fees and discover all those extra
benefits which Bitcoin can offer over relying on FIAT banking solely.

As for the promotion itself, does anyone know who is behind it? Its obvious
nobody is going to read it there and then and I wonder how many people or what
percentage of the population lets say in Edinburgh hasnt heard about Bitcoin?

Would have been beneficial to have a QR code or web link so people can visit and
learn more.

I don't know how others recognize a whitepaper when they see one, but it's not necessary to add any Qr code, aside that people would be skeptic to scan the code, the name bitcoin on the paper covers it all. Its left for the person to search online about bitcoin and they'll find the whitepaper somehow. The ad looks like it's accepted by the neighborhood regarding how strongly fixed it is, the nailing and all, it took some time to get it there. In some neighborhoods it would be removed immediately by people that don't like seeing posters on walls.

Wow, a commendable idea, even if not implemented optimally, but with such action and effort, it can raise awareness and generate people's interest in bitcoin. Even though it may be criticized by everyone, it is still a contributing point of view to help build and improve. However, it is still necessary to combine many other measures because we are living in the 4.0 era, so we need to make the most of the techniques we have inherited. For example, through games, videos, bitcoin-related prize missions, or viral brief content, people can pay attention and focus on learning more about bitcoin. This way, we can effectively communicate information and promote a better understanding of complex topics like Bitcoin.

I'll always applaud any little contribution to the dissemination of Bitcoin to a new audience, but this caught my attention to think about how many people would read this? it is in a good spot for passersby, though the environment is not like a place where people stand to discuss or if benches were there it would have attracted more readers. The poster is okay and fine if it were to be stamped beside a bus stop. Whichever way, I'd say this form of awareness may not require people to read them there, it just needs them to see it and look it up on Google, then read in the comfort of their home.
I read a report that surveyed a few countries and found that 98% out of 100% of them are ignorant of the real uses of Bitcoin.
Although I read the report a long time ago I don't think it has increased much during this period. And I think that a lot of knowledge about its real use can be gained by reading the Bitcoin white paper. So I welcome and wish such initiatives.
I also think like you that it is not something that should be first introduced to Google only through the Internet. Wherever it is placed on a bustop or street site I think it will catch the eye of many who don't know about it and that will serve its purpose.
I now have a hope in my heart that one day I will also hang such billboards around me in my country to introduce and create people to Bitcoin in my country. As it now ban and illegal in my country. And that's why many people in our country have this misconception that Bitcoin is only used for illegal purposes, but I think they will get rid of this misconception if they read the Bitcoin white paper.

I have the same thought in mind, the idea is good but people won't stop just to read the whole of Bitcoin white paper.  We are not in an ancient or medieval era anymore where posting on street will make people stop and read.  Many would just ignore it but I think the Big Logo makes up for it.

same energy....

they introduce bitcoin to common people by putting up bitcoin whitepapers on the side of the road, and the goal is for ordinary people who read it to think with their own minds consciously about what bitcoin really is (not by other people's words, that Bitcoin is a scam and fraud)

if positive actions like this are carried out in many corners of cities around the world, the impact will be very significant for the adoption of bitcoin in the future.
