We can't talk about the Bitcoin price if the fundamental understanding is still not good. I don't know you why told your friend even he doesn't know much about fundamentals?, If I were you, I'll be quiet, and won't argue with unnecessary things. it is simply a matter of trust, there won't be any problem if you trust Bitcoin. Let's say you have the correct prediction ( the price does not get to $40k), but, what is the benefit? did you just buy bitcoin this year and have plan to sell it on next year?. If not, I think you're just predicting without enjoying the benefits in what you said to your friends.

By looking my chart the 40K is near but there is major resistance to hold that level I can't say can we go 40K unless the major resistance at 30-35K is broken. But one thing is sure that Today price is still above 200 EMA daily candle and the other indicator says is oversold

OP you said nobody's bitcoin price prediction has been accurate this year but you are predicting that the price will not get to $40k this year. I think you are contradicting yourself. I have stooped discussing Bitcoin with most people in my area because we have so many critics and skeptics. For me, the price of Bitcoin is unpredictable because the global economy is ever-dynamic. Nobody expected the war in Ukraine and the collapse of many exchanges last year. These two events affect the price of Bitcoin last year. This year I didn't expect that some major banks in the world will go bankrupt.

Nobody predicted the rise in the transaction fees of Bitcoin. We don't know the next economic event so we are just hopeful. Investing in Bitcoin is having confidence that it will overcome all economic problems that it will encounter.

You’re talking about the price in January and since then the price pump and if your friend didn’t listen to you, I’m sure he makes a lot of money already. The market is unpredictable, same as Bitcoin you can’t expect an accurate prediction from anyone. I’m still bullish anyway with Bitcoin, this current correction are only temporary, I expect in the last quarter of 2023, the price of Bitcoin will pump again, doing DCA right now is a good strategy.

There is still plenty of time until the year ends, and I believe your prediction will be added to the list of incorrect predictions. Everyone will have different expectations of the market, but getting it correctly is not certain. We may provide a pricing range but not a precise price to be predicted correctly.

Government policies always have an impact on bitcoin, but this does not prevent its price from rising when it is set to. After the $59k-$60k hike yesterday and the price not wanting to increase again, I just thought that this is the time for a correction to come in the Bitcoin market and I should be prepared to buy low. And after entering the new year, the price has dropped again, making me curious to what extent the price will bounce back.

And the price dropped to $ 17k yesterday and just started to bounce. After that, I see the highest price Bitcoin can reach is around $30k-$32k (if I'm not mistaken). Then the price dropped again and is still at $27k.

For this type of market which is truly that speculative and something that cant be predicted then you would usually hear up these words;

1. $1M per coin for this year 2023 specially on that 90-day bet made
2. $80-100k this year
3. $10-12k this year

We would really be hearing out different words considering that this market is really composed of those bulls and bears whether you are a whale or average joe then those speculative
approach is something that very normal. There's no such thing about prediction to be 100% and it was called speculative market just because there's no way on knowing
on what would be its next movement and this what makes things even more harder to be dealing off with. This is why its always been that recommended and been reminded that

Still too hard to say but today was negative with BTC unable to beat 12 hour average pricing even, it looks weak.  However thats short term and since YTD your friend would be most correct to state BTC has and remain positive, this is not lost or even obscured.     All thats happened so far is the froth blew off which could even be said to be a good thing for visibility and stability longer term.

Although no one has a crystal ball to predict the future or make solid predictions. But honestly, once you've invested, discussing future prices is inevitable, even though it may be pointless. I also usually don't like to make predictions about bitcoin prices because I'm sure that will never happen because the market doesn't move the way we think. But when I listen to people discuss, I can't just stand by and watch, but will make predictions from my point of view. For me, always being prepared for different situations, no matter how volatile the market is, there is nothing to panic about.

Why to make wild guesses? Do the proper research and find out yourself where will Bitcoin stand this year. If you see the previous graphs, then Bitcoins always touched the ATH price in every 4 years. And this year it is the 4th year to be honest. So yes high expectations are there that Bitcoins will surprise us with the price. These small price drops are just price corrections and we often seen these type of price corrections before big pump. So I would say don’t lose hope, let’s see where Bitcoins lands in August. Till that accumulate as many Bitcoins as you can.

Somehow we are likely to see this front and back in the price of bitcoin but the price of $35-40k during the month of June maybe too soon to approach , June is just few weeks ahead and nothing highly spectacular is happening for now around btc so looking at 50/60 % increase till next month is actually high especially now that btc is not in a bull round but in correction and stability stage
