Why so many mixers all of a sudden?

Throwback to last year, there were only few mixers you’d be able to pick from. And even these were for the most part unknown and you couldn’t tell much about how safe they are and whether they’re honey pots or real mixers.

Fast forward to this day, there are so many mixers you can now choose from! Which begs the question for me, why is that? I get it, Chipmixer is down so some people saw an opportunity. But is this the real answer or is there some kind of service creating mixers out of thin air like those services we used to have which allowed you to create a new Altcoin in literally minutes?

To be fair and honest with you, I’m scared of using these unknown mixers especially now that new ones pop up so often.

Seizure of Chipmixer created big void in the bitcoin mixing service business so others think that they can utilise this void ti fill and bad some money and it makes sense too. Mixers aren't creating the chips out of thin air they just deliver you bitcoin from another track record instead of yours to break the link between you and your coins.

Many new bitcoin mixers have their ANN in bitcointalk too so where you can visit and get the feedback from people who tried their service which will be helpful for you to choose the right one.

The mixers that are becoming popular on bitcointallk were already existing, after chipmixer unfortunate seizure, the other mixers are now becoming popular due to them launching their service on the forum. Before they all knew chipmixer was already dominating the forum because they had the best posters and nobody can compete with their payrate but now since they're out of the market others can shine.

A conspiracy theory might be, chipmixer has opened other mixers immediately or secretly bought the already existing ones and now marketing them just as they marketed chipmixer and made it very popular. They're trying the same strategy for the newly acquired mixers.

The reason is that people still want privacy for their coins and transactions even after CM was seized by the authorities and all those in race have come up with new promotions and signature campaign on forum to attract people to use their service and boost up their user base.They might be there earlier also but Chipmixer was the most famous and well known mixing service that others were not used much but now they have open space so you see lot of them competing here and providing their services.

Many people wished that Bitcoin has privacy feature and a mixer makes it possible, so many people are now tasty of Bitcoin mixer, it's a dream come true if new mixers are showing up, most importantly if they come with new features, not all Bitcoin mixer users are criminals, some of care about their privacy, it's their way of living, they don't trust the government.

Mixers developers should try to keep their info and identity very secretly, it will be harder for the government to crack down the mixer service unless they get their hands on some information or the developers revealed who they are.

The demand for this array is also very large although I can't find specific figures for that but I understand that users and suppliers always have a relationship to lead to an area that can grow. There is a lot of information surrounding the fact that more products have appeared recently, but in my opinion the fact that users have a great need to use them is still a big factor, although so far it is still a thing. something is very negative in the crypto environment and is trusted by many people but when something familiar goes wrong, many parties take advantage of it to compete for market share with each other.

The most popular mixer I knew was Chipmixer, and since they've been locked by FBI/Europol, this has been a good opportunity for new ones and the old competitors. It would have been nice if you could name many of the mixers you referred to, this is because it might surprise you the time some of them have even started, they are now been noticed after Chipmixer was gone.

Also, mixing algorithms and systems might be a bit difficult when it was first started, but the mechanism is already known now, so anyone good with coding could write it and start the business as easily as that. You should expect more in due course, only you have to be careful and use the ones you trust since mixers scam too.

I don't think he's complaining, he's just surprised by the sudden increase in launches of mixers. And I do agree to you that this is even much better that we've got a lot of mixers and that's because everyone is valuing their privacy. But at the same time, it's also scary on what if it's the FED that has made the other new mixers and they're just trying to trap people into the usage of the mixer that they've made. Regardless of that, the increase of these mixers are good for most of us because we've got a lot of choices on where shall we increase our anonymity through the variants of theirs. If you're also satisfied with ones service, you'll stay there and at the same time the fees do matter on whichever is the most affordable yet the percentage of anonymity is better, that's where people will be going.

Mixer services only increase their visibility more in this forum (I don't think they are anywhere else), that's why you suddenly see some mixer brands. I don't know if CM's popularity in the past was because it managed to absorb some of the users from this place, now that it's closed I think this forum is the only favorite place for ex-users to find alternatives where there are more credible testers and reviewers.

Nobody knows the exact correct answers. It's just an assumption that the CM seizure allowed other businesses to expand. CM was a popular service, and its users had a pick an alternative service. Of course, they will choose the best mixers around. Maybe that's why we are seeing more mixers coming to the forum. I see this as positive competition. Every mixer will try to improve their service as best as possible to get Ex-CM users' attention. I would call it healthy competition.

Moreover, you don't know if CM has already started its business under a new Brand name. I wear the WhirlWind signature and avatar, and I know their service facilities. I haven't seen a mixer service without fees other than WhirlWind. Right now, the WhirlWind mixer service is entirely free. Even on-chain transactions don't charge transaction fees.

I see many of them have their mixers in this forum years ago. It is only their matter of failure to attract people to use their services because ChipMixer was there and so famous.

After ChipMixer was seized, those old mixers decided to run more marketing when they saw more chances to get new customers.

ChipMixer was indeed very popular on Bitcointalk and I believe their signature campaigns were among the best on the forum. However, after its seizure it created an opportunity for other mixers to emerge and attract a huge number of customers. This is why we are currently seeing many new mixers being introduced and being on use.

There are only two new mixers if I am not mixing: Whirlwind and Sinbad. Other mixers are very old.

Whirlwind and Sindbad are indeed reputable mixers, but let's not forget Unijoin either. It's a relatively new mixer and the team behind it is known for its professionalism and expertise. Unijoin has gained recognition in the mixing community and deserves consideration alongside other established mixers.

Perhaps the correct question is why so many mixers are  started signature campaigns here, and the reason for this is the increase in the number of users who are beginning to care about privacy, especially since solutions such as coinjoin are questionable in their ability to hide identity.

This news was in the year 2022, and here, many users are using mixing services, and with the absence of a ChipMixer, this market has become in need of many alternatives, which are now limited to less than 6 mixing services, while in the past there were many.

That's correct; most of these mixers have been on the market for quite a few years but weren't advertised enough, due to the large user base of ChipMixer, the majority of them were overshadowed. They've now all recently started their own through signature campaigns, and their presence on the forum makes it much more prevalent now. That also shows the power signature campaigns have, which we often forget because some of us take them for granted. With ChipMixer gone, other platforms took advantage of the void in the market and took action to promote themselves to the public.

and as far as I can see, there is nothing wrong if there are more mixers.

This is just proof that many communities here on the forum use bitcoin mixing when they do bitcoin transactions. So that's good so we can see which one is cheaper and the service they provide to their clients is also good.

The feds in the U.S. have unlimited subpoena power and will force any company within their jurisdiction to comply with their demands. That means you don't actually have any privacy on platforms that know your identity. Don't be an attractive target, respect your own privacy and OPSEC, and mix your coins if you care enough about your crypto privacy. I didn't think mixing coins was too consequential until I realized that subpoenas and FISA warrants are handed out by the U.S. government like candy. You can be a normal, law abiding citizen, and still be victim to their abuse. It isn't surprising why mixers are popular.

I think many mixers have been around for a long time, but they are not so well known as Chipmixer. It can be said that when it comes to mixer, people will immediately think of Chipmixer, not having any other second name. But as we all know, CM is closed, and there are opportunities for other mixers as well. Everyone understands that this is the best time to replace CM, and if they win old customers from CM, they will be as strong as CM before. So I'm not too surprised to see so many mixing campaigns launch.

I'm not sure when Mixero was launched, but they created their own thread on this forum on November 2022.

June 2022 according to their domain registration date.

And then there is [banned mixer] probably the oldest of them all whose journey started in January 2016. They don't even bother advertising. Perhaps because they already have a huge customer base that has been loyal to them even during the times of stiff competition from Chipmixer.
