I believe that in these semifinals, Real Madrid faced the harsh reality. In my opinion, they were very lucky in the previous stages: in the group stage, they had fairly manageable opponents: Leipzig , Shakhtar, and Celtic. In the Round of 16, they faced a declining Liverpool, from which they took advantage by a wide margin. In the quarterfinals, they defeated Chelsea, which was also in decline.
