Log in with your gmail account.select the Forgot password option. Now follow the instructions. If you face any problem, post with details.

If you have posted a bitcoin address before then you can sign it just to prove your ownership. This days there are hackers which have made it hard to just ask for password reset. Here is a guide on how to sign a message https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=990345.0

Log out from your account then go to login page and click on " forgot your password?" afterward input you Username/ Email.

note: this will only work if you have access to your email account if you're using an email account that you can't log into then I'm afraid this process won't work you'll have to wait for more experienced user to help you out on that one.

You forgot your password? With this account, or do you have another account to which you have lost access? If the account for which you have forgotten the password is this one, which might be a better option since the account is still logged in on your device, that simply means that there is every possibility that the account login details are saved and remembered in your browser.

If that's the case, try going through your browser's saved passwords and checking to see if your forum password is among your saved details there.

Note: Saving login details is also not really advisable because your information can be compromised when your email linked to the browser is hacked.

You will need your current password in order to change to a new one but since you’re still logged in to the forum right now, I guess you have your password saved in your browser, go to passwords on the browser to see your password. Next time use a password that’s unique to you and easy to remember.

Are you sure this is your account? Before this post, you have a recent post posted on December 23, 2022. Meaning you just login in today so how did you log in?

Maybe your account is set to always log in and your browser still has your old cookies which is why you still have access to your account. But the problem is we do not know if you are the real owner of this account you don't even have a stake address to verify unless you referring to another account.

I suggest don't logout here while trying to recover your account through email use incognito mode on the browser. Or if you also do not have access to your Email instead ask mods if you can able to change the email and password of this account on their side.

You can recover your account with:
- Password reset via email
- Password reset via manual recovery

• Account recoveries are moving again
• Recovering hacked/lost accounts
• FYI: "ownership change queued"

When you recover your account password, change it to a new password, you should sign a Bitcoin message and stake it as evidence of your account ownership. In future, you can use that Bitcoin address, signed message to recover your account.

I created my account on the 5th day of May 2022, as you can see there are few post on my page because I wasn’t active all this while due to an accident I was involved in. As members in a forum instead of false-fully accusing  another member we should try to show concern and care for one another by asking reasonable questions when trying to render help. If I knew how to change the password I won’t seek for help from everyone else here. So next time let’s focus on the bone of contention instead of bringing out false narratives of what we don’t know about.

The old password must be used to save the new password.If not, forget the password does not die.

I also ran into this problem I forgot an account password but I didn't have the email for which my account never came back.

If the email you used for the account is an active one already created then you're lucky, just insert the email address by clicking forgot password button, a password reset code will be sent to your email address and from there you could find the other procedures to login to your account easy, note that is does not apples to when your account is being hacked, there's a procedure for that on a different approach, lastly ensure you make use of the password character and numeric combination you could always remember and while logging in, ensure you tick the button that says "always logged in" to avoid inserting password everytime you're logging in.

on the login page look for a forgot password or change password link and click on it.
follow the instructions which have provided which is usually providing you,r current password then creating new password some may also require you to verify to identity through email or other means . once you have entered new password & confirmed the changes you,r login password will be successfully updated as per required putting you,r information

Why do you have to change it? If you can still open it, just continue, but for more detailed reasons, of course you know why you are asking like that. I think the suggestion from brother @Zaguru12 is a very good reference because it is very clear the stages of work there.

If from me, for other improvements, try to make quality posts and I'm sure if it's good both in terms of concepts, presentation of problems and requests for solutions, I think many of our seniors will give good answers.

Unfortunately, you did not clearly explain what you want, so far we are not sure if you are talking about Bitcointalk account or another account.
Have you posted any Bitcoin address publicly or privately? If you publish an address, sign a letter proving that you are the owner of that address.
Then email recoveries...@bitcointalk.org with these links and they will be able to help you.
If your account is old and has few posts, it won't change anything, unless you post every 14 days, you won't get a higher rank.

Why do you have to change it? If you can still open it, just continue, but for more detailed reasons, of course you know why you are asking like that.

He said he forgot his password, which means he can't remember it anymore to be able to log in to his account, what you should advise him is the alternative to how he can get access back on his account and which is only by the means of password reset, he may also try to ensure he write the new password generated on a piece of paper and keep it safe far from the reach of anyone except himself.

You can't expect everyone to make the same post as you can, especially in situations like this, he's a newbie and his question is straight and direct, no need of writing stories to fill up the page all because he needs to know how he can reset a password, newbies need time to grow as well through learning.

To retrieve password shouldn't be that difficult, just use the email you used to sign up or the username, a link will be sent to your email, except you are having difficulties with the CAPTCHA during the process of trying to login or trying to create a NEW password.
