I was looking for an answer WHY, I can't Reply to any post in Serious Discussion or in the Ivory Tower (which I supposed I need to be a Full Member First).

There are so many interesting Topics to join in there - I am somehow bombarded with the Process here...

If you wish to participate in discussion there then all you have to do is to grow your account and for you to achieve that you'll have to contribute to other discussions here in the forum to earn merits and activities.

The decision was made by theymos to decrease spam. Read the post quoted below for more information.

I see that newbies were already posting junk in Serious Discussion, so I made changes:
 - The member limitations are moved up one rank. You must be a Jr Member to post in Serious Discussion and a Full Member to post in Ivory Tower
 - Posts in Serious Discussion only activate a potential-activity period. They do not increase your post count.
 - Posts in Ivory Tower neither activate a potential-activity period nor increase your post count.

Answer is simple - if you want to post in these boards you have to become Jr. Mmember or Full Mmeber. Becoming Jr. Mmeber isn't difficult at all as you need just 1 Merit. While becoming Full Member will require some efforts. This decision was made to prevent spam and get more quality discussion. It doesn't means that all Newbies are spammers, but unfortunately, most of spam comes from Newbies.
And it's not unique thing. Many forums have restrictions to post in specific board until you reach required rank.

I believe some of the thread and topics are being limited and restricted from newbies posting. That's why it's advisable for you to be reading some instructions before you post any topic. From few reply above I believe they already made a clear answer about why you can't post on those sections.

You can't delete your topics and even if you could delete this topic, there was no need to do that.
As you have got the answer to your question, you may want to lock the topic. To do so, just scroll down and click on "lock topic" at bottom left corner of the page.

You can lock your thread to stop the discussion when you got answers you want.

You can move it to Archival board and let it there. After moving your thread to Archival board, lock it too.

You can click on Report to moderator and write like you want a moderator to trash it. Moderator can do it for you or not do it for you, their decision.

Archival board is best because it is for old stuff.

Your post count only drops if your posts are deleted.
