Why would anyone rich enough to stay there make stakes into the building during their stay anyway, seems just a dumb marketing idea. Which blockchain are you gonna wrap your BTC on?

Dubai, a playground for developers, architects and engineers has given birth to many iconic buildings with different stories to tell. It is known for it's mind-blowing and ground-breaking edifices and skyscrapers. Today, it is at the forefront of history as it's going to be home to the world's first bitcoin tower. The developer, Salvatore Liggiero designed the 40 storey tower to demonstrate Bitcoin significance and also as a sign of recognition for the world's number one cryptocurrency. AFAIK, as they've been dependent on their fossil fuels and oil reserve, they just can't rely to it forever so this is a good diversification that they do for their country.

What does a tower have to do with making Bitcoin legal, we have the Trump coin for example,    , although it is true El Salvador has a bitcoin city or plans to have it, surely we will have the tower first, but anyway no relation building-legal bitcoin.

This is a good impression and it is going to make the adoption of Bitcoin to increase. It shows that there are people that really cares a out Bitcoin even though there are some countries that had been fighting against the adoption and recognition of Bitcoin. How sad, I know I'm going against the tide I won't celebrate this milestone but unfortunately Bitcoin doesn't need these ads to grow, plus I consider it a big waste of money that could have been invested to improve Bitcoin's code and infrastructure or improve mass adoption .  It is not with this advertising that Bitcoin is improved.

because indeed the most important thing is the economy that must be developed because if the people's economy goes down, of course who will buy BTC, but if the economy goes up, of course many will also adopt BTC.

Dubai is one thing that can make astounding developments in the world. Whether you take the LINE project or Burj anything is possible for them. They have already started billions of dollars investment in the Line project which means the new Bitcoin Tower would not be any issue for them at all. That's what I would professionally call "parasitizing on Bitcoin", and regardless of the idea that Satoshi had when he created Bitcoin, I'm sorry that he didn't protect that name because it would have really spared us from fake creators and those who use Bitcoin to achieve some completely different goals. We can have such a tower in every city in the world, but steel, concrete and plastic will change almost nothing if people continue to think in the wrong way.

That same country recently rejected Bitcoin, so it would be good if we finally adopt that fact on the forum and not repeat some things like broken records. Legal tender in the context of Bitcoin is an overrated thing, and if the example of El Salvador didn't show it, why do people expect another country to do it?

The idea of naming the Tower to Bitcoin is very good to promote Bitcoin. The problem will come once the owner introduced more shitcoin than Bitcoin itself. They are planning to create a DAO and probably shitcoin for governance on the structure. They might focus more into shitcoin rather than Bitcoin and it’s very dangerous when they offer ponzinomics to all the participants on this tower.

Any publicity is good since this is the first of its kind. I’m just worried about the future reputation of this building once the owner start cash out money from investors pocket that will reflect on the brand that they are using which is Bitcoin.

So it is just for the name; they are just masking it and putting the name Bitcoin on it so people will say it's legit, but it turns out they will be using another shitcoin? and not the bitcoin itself, because that is also my question in my head on how they will do it, like how do they do the staking? One of the ways that I can think of is that they will create their own token, and then it is useless because they name the tower Bitcoin, but they are using another coin.

They are one of the crypto friendly countries who are always looking for ways for crypto inclusion. I think Dubai is the best place for such innovative ideas and the city has shown great interest towards architecture from its beginnings. It's a dream-come-true experience to see something like Bitcoin tower in a city like Dubai. The place is already very beautiful and the buildings as well as hotels of Dubai are best in the world, and especially there is no competition of the buildings and hotels in Asia.

Tourists love to visit the beautiful city and now the Bitcoin enthusiasts would love to visit the place where Bitcoin tower is going to be built. The tower seems to be very nice and the design of the tower is truly eye-catching. A Bitcoin lover would definitely dream to spend a night in that tower because it's name is enough for a Bitcoin enthusiast.

I must say that Salvatore Liggiero is doing a great job in designing that tower, and because of his efforts the recognition of Bitcoin will increase in UAE. If I get a chance to visit the tower then I will definitely go to the tower and love to spend sometime in that beautiful building.

Dubai clearly knows how to make very impressive buildings, and they have enough resources to implement even the boldest plans. Considering that, I think there's a decent chance that we'll truly see Bitcoin Tower there. If they really do it, I think it'll be a huge popularity boost to Bitcoin, as the design is unique and so... Bitcoin-forward (I mean, they could just make a regular building with some sort of Bitcoin sign on top, but they're making the whole building in a form of Bitcoin symbol instead).
Some are saying here that it's not really about Bitcoin, but I think that it will be to most people. I'll just be a sightseeing thing, and the Bitcoin symbol is right there. I don't think their actual project with some crypto staking will be successful.

This is really amazing! I'm interested to know more about this project. Once this project becomes successful, it can bring awareness to a lot of people locally in Dubai, and even internationally. Though I assume it would probably be an expensive one, and not everyone can afford it, it can still make others curious about Bitcoin and crypto. And of course, it can bring great adoption. Once it's almost done, for sure, more articles will publish about this Bitcoin Tower. It's a great way of promoting Bitcoin.
