If you do have to provide your identity information, make sure it’s to someone reputable, but even then it could very possibly be hacked and stolen.

Most of the centralised casino doesn't stored KYC on their own system since they hire 3rd party KYC services to collect and verify all the data. A casino usually not allowed to hold the KYC information by themselves if they don't have license to do it even if they are a gambling license. KYC requires another license in able for a casino to handle it by themselves.

The level of our data exposure depends on the reputation of the platform we submit our data to because for as far as we have been informed that some of the sites that seek for KYC cannot store those data on the storage so at there are forced to five the data out for third-party data storage like google cloud storage and the rest of the data hosting sites.

So if the security of the site is weak,  then it is better to rather care and worry about the safety of our KYC documents submitted to them otherwise we can choose not to hand out our information and sensitive documents for verification.

I also think the same about KYC, when you give them you are exposed to everything, that they leak and are exposed, and that is something very delicate, it may be that some casinos are very safe, but I have seen that there are sites that they are very secure and that they suffer from these hacks and compromise all the data, here and anywhere, in the banks is where there is more security (that is what they sell) but it is insecure, any system will never be secure and all software will have its vulnerability and it will make it not safe either, the safest thing I've seen is the Vatican system, and when there are people who want to hack it they put them in jail.

Thanks for all the discussions. I read a lot of comments. That many people disagree with kyc. But I haven't seen anyone commenting that there was fraud or KYC abuse from gambling sites. Hope I didn't miss that comment.

The general opinion is that when you send KYC documents they are potentially compromised, but this happens even on large exchanges like Coinbase, where data can be hacked or even sold by them. if casinos declared that they will collect KYC, this doesnt mean that they will collect it early on. It is a nice thing that there are casino that only collect KYC when there are rediculous amount of money that is being taken out from their casino or if there are unusual activity on the account. Many gamblers are spared from doing KYC even if it is required. I myself only submitted a KYC on a separate casino twice even though I play on different casino. If my information is leaked, there's only two casinos to blame.

Usually big casinos won't ask for it if something odd is detected and make a big withdrawal or big win, usually the casino will ask the user to complete KYC including asking the user to upload an identity file to make sure even though it's hard to trust the casino but we are faced with withdrawal and account freezing so it doesn't can withdraw money.
