A few days ago, I saw a KOL with a large number of fans on Twitter. He was recommending a project recommended by many KOLs. As long as he followed his guidelines, he could get more airdrop tokens. As a result, when I clicked on the link, connect When my little fox wallet is signed and confirmed, my assets will be reset to zero. I checked the data on the chain, and in a short period of time, he actually defrauded more than 20,000 US dollars in digital currency, which is terrible.

It is unfortunate to see the scamming by Airdrop. Recently, many users are scammed by Pepe Airdrop links. Crypto Buyers should simply follow a rule that any DM or free offering is a Scam unless you are really sure that the person is an official in the community.

Any key opinion leader or any influencer is being paid by the advertiser, so inherently there is a bias. Specifically on cryptocurrency, many KOL does not even bother researching what they are advertising. This is a big red flag because cryptocurrencies especially altcoins are filled with a scam. They just get the money while their follower gets rugged.

It could not get worse on Twitter, it has been known that many scammers are exists on Twitter and they have deceived many people. One should stay away from an unknown person that lures you to do something that is cryptocurrencies-related.

Twitter is breeding ground of scammers, they can free post what they want there so we need to do our research before participating on any airdrops or giveaways since we never know the dev just want to collect data or just want to scam us there.  Also don't connect your personal or even use your main wallet on participating on airdrops which needs to connect our wallet or give permission to access their platform since this can possibly harm us badly. Its really terrible to see that there are so many people fall on scams there so hopefully they learn their lesson for incident happen to them.

First, never connect your wallet to any layer2 platform that doesn't guarantee your found security, and to be sincere with you, 90% of those so-called layer 2 wallet connects are aimed at scamming you of your money.

So your biggest mistake was to connect your personal wallet with the scammer's smart contract address and thereby exposing your wallet security, this is a known scam for a long so you have to learn from this.

If his total "profit" from that scam was "only" 20k $ in total, then i heavily doubt that this really was the Influencer that did this scam. I would guess that his twitter account was hacked by someone and then this guy posted this malicious link that drained your wallets. I doubt that a influencer that has a high number of followers already would throw away all of this for a scam like that.
Those influencers usually don't need to do scams like that. They are earning enough money by getting cheap tokens in the seed or private sale and then they shill it to their followers, which is also kinda scammy. In generall i would not trust that influencers to much, they are all just using their followers to grow their own bag.

That's why it's important to do your research first because the current airdrop is not the same as it used to be. Many projects that are deemed promising even with a verified Twitter account do NOT guarantee that they will pay off. Make this a lesson that to always be careful about links that are spread only to promise big profits. For beginners this is like an opportunity but for those who already know the act of blocking an account is a good choice. Do not easily believe and must always check all channels so that information is not swallowed up.

I'm sorry to hear that someone was scammed while investing in crypto. This is one of the risks of the cryptocurrency market, making investing a difficult challenge for both new and experienced investors. To avoid scams, you should always connect your wallet via a secure intermediary, such as the project's official website or in a trusted crypto wallet app, avoiding connecting your wallet to your wallet. themselves through untrusted or untrusted links. Not only twitter, but most social networks, forums, news channels,... are places of criminal activity.

Furthermore, before investing in any cryptocurrency, you should thoroughly understand the project, its development team, and its community. Make sure you only invest in cryptocurrencies that have sustainable development and future potential. Finally, always be vigilant and prudent in your investments and avoid investing too much in a single project to minimize risk.

A lot of people getting caught out with MM wallets these days. No matter how many times people are told not to store their recovery phrases on their devices or take a picture of them they still do.
People should using wallets like Gnosis or Safe as I think its called now. That way you can have two multisigs on it, one can be your MM wallet and then you could use a cold wallet, Trezor or Ledger for the other multi-sig.

It's quite unfortunate to see that people are getting ripped off while in search for more. There's really no wrong in desiring more but we all need to be careful as there are more opportunities to get ripped off when one is greedy. We need to avoid airdrop that requires the attachment of wallet address or use wallet address with very little fund to serve as transaction fee.

Cheating with glamor to attract trust, and taking advantage of ignorance to promote greedy thoughts in life is a selfishness of many people. The era of technology development, social networks are also a place filled with negative information, and the problem that I think users easily access and trust is always safe and reliable information very dangerous. Always be on the lookout for attractive offers about opportunities, because it's really not easy if we don't make efforts to learn to understand, through the story from OP I also want to remind new and interested people If you are looking for opportunities from crypto, always learn more about the skills to use and experience, everything is never easy if you lack knowledge with it.

The wrong move you are using.

You are investing by "KOLs", Influencer or someone who are promoted the project. The person doesn't care about the project scam or not, they only care the money they get from the promotion
- They promoted the project
- Getting money
- Out, doesn't care.

The person who are promoted not even invest anything or buy. Never invested by influencer, they all don't care.

Scammers can be anywhere and if there are lots of people talking about crypto, those scammers will mix in and give investment advice. Those of us who want to invest should learn more about the program to avoid being scammed. Everything can happen especially if it only requires a connection to a personal wallet where there are lots of coins that we store in that wallet. Maybe we can only do prevention by not using a wallet mixed with other coins but a wallet with no contents so that if something bad happens, we won't be affected.

yes... indeed there are scammers everywhere and are causing a lot of harm to investors, especially with the many scammers in the meme token project, it is very detrimental and we must always be careful because they can easily take our assets if we just connect our wallet.  at this time it is very dangerous, many meme token projects under the guise of airdrops take the assets of members.

Twitter and telegram is the hotspot platforms of scammers. Just avoid clicking link or interacting on this casino especially if you are a newbie or don't really have idea what you are doing. These scammers are doing anything to scam people like joining the current trend, impersonate influencers and even make smart contracts just to scam people. I believe that even crypto veterans can possibly be victimized by this scammers because some of them are really good to it. Just avoid using twitter if you find it as a threat or just don't click links that you think is harmful.

Twitter is full with so many scammers. You shall be careful when dealing with twitter. never try to click any link that published in twitter. Even some times official account can be hacked to spread the phishing.

I don't like how bad twitter to handle it. There are thousands of scammers in twitter.

Maybe we can only do prevention by not using a wallet mixed with other coins but a wallet with no contents so that if something bad happens, we won't be affected.

yes true scammers are everywhere, however I also noticed that on twitter they have increased dramatically, especially during 2022, however telegram is also full of scammers.

yes, now scammers are very smart and are everywhere, so we have to be more careful and never open suspicious links, especially those that promise if you can get profits quickly and easily (just block them), because that's definitely a scam, especially if you like participating in airdrop, then my advice is that you better to have 2 wallets (the main wallet to store all your assets and the second wallet to participate in airdrop), so it will make your crypto assets safer to store in the wallet.

One of the warnings that should not evade the mind of any cryptocurrency enthusiast is to avoid phising links at all cost. These links are responsible for the theft on one's wallet. The idea of connecting wallet to verify and obtain airdrops is something I disdain and strive to abstain from due to the risk potential.

For me a large number of followers does not mean they can be trusted. I meet a lot of Twitter users who have tens of thousands of followers and they are people who are hunting for referral links. Usually they are airdrop or giveaway hunters.

Maybe only verified Twitter accounts can be trusted. I apologize for the misfortune that has befallen you. Maybe this can be a lesson for other members so they can be careful when participating in airdrops. I honestly don't like Airdrops asking for KYC. Because for me personal data is more important than tens of dollars.
