Ignorance is indeed a terribly big problem. Learning about something new from friends, family, or acquaintances or reading about it online pushes our curiosity, something that I take as a good thing for us. However, it goes negative very quickly when we cure that curiosity by simply just listening to what others think of that phenomenon. Learning on your own from facts and credible sources will always be better than learning from hearsay and opinionated statements.
