Anyone have any ballet pro series wallets that were discontinued that are new in box for sale or trade.

Im wondering how this would work because with the pro series, the customer made the pass phrase I believe

It wouldn't be smart buying a pro from someone. You have to create your own passphrase when you purchase it. Kind of defeats the purpose if someone knows the passphrase. That's what makes it the best ballet wallet. Ballet discontinued them. So unless they start making them again. You won't find one safe enough to use.

do not buy a used pro series --- means someone at least knows the passphrase - they may not have the encrypted pk but they would have the passphrase.

the thing is, when ordering a pro series, you have to enter your "pass phrase" in an offline system to get a type of encryption key that they then use to encrypt the private key - the only thing that unencrypts the private key is your passphrase - ballet never knows it. so if you buy a pro from anyone, that means they know the passphrase and would have to give it to you.

Were there any variations of these cards available? What's the pricepoint? Only info I got so far is you will get three identical cards.

they were great, originally they were $99 then went up to $129, then $159 and then $199 and i think they ended at $229 I think.

they kept pushing up the price - not sure why. They cancelled them due to customers who would buy them and add funds but then forget their self created passphrase and then somehow expect Ballet to know it.

The whole point of the pro was that Ballet never knew the second part, only the customer did.

That's some crazy price increases. Maybe they didn't sell many and the customization wasn't really worth it for a few items.

Cool concept - hope they'll continue it, maybe with a phaaat disclaimer for noobs this time?

oh they had a disclaimer but you know people dont like to read lol. I personally loved it as it was then super easy to use as a hot wallet - no one could ever see the pass phrase and encrypted key at the same time.

They were $299. Which was ridiculous. But I still feel lucky to have got one in time. (literally the last day offered)
