Thus, any kind of Chipmixer website on the Clearnet is almost definitely a scam or phishing attempt. There were a lot of fake clones of CM even in the days it was operating. Of course, the original was seized and the fake clones keep operating, because... the agencies work by Murphy's laws 
So I would avoid those sites.

There are plenty of mixers advertised here on bitcointalk, they may not be for free like CM was, but at least they do operate.

There were a crap ton of scam clones even before Chipmixer got seized. It's pretty much the reason why a lot of people on various communities think that Chipmixer was a scam — because they pretty much got phished.

You knew it that the real one has been taken down by the government and that's why anything that comes out with the same name but with different domain, they're all fake and trying to phish some of the gullible people. Maybe there are still those folks that have funds there and trying to acquire their funds that's stuck there but due to the seizing, it was left there. The trickery is maybe telling these people that they can recover and send it back to them unless they pay a fee or it's simply just portraying as the legit one and anything that's deposited there is gone forever.

I think it is almost impossible or there are very few chances that someone will start a "legal" mixing business using Chipmixer as a name in any form. It would be madness to deliberately attract attention from the investigative authorities from the beginning.

Initially Mixing on Chipmixer could be done both on clearnet and Tor version. However, when the clearnet started getting lots of DDoS attacks and down times, they decided to make it just for informational purposes

this domain is fake clones of CM, and in any case it cannot enjoy the same trust that the original site enjoyed.

There is a thing you have to learn, when website gets seized or hacked, just remember that you shouldn't trust this website or any name associated with it anymore! Chipmixer has been seized, that means, just forget Chipmixer and never use any name/service associated with them, they aren't going to return back and don't expect that one of their moderator or co-owner escaped and decided to rebuild a similar business. Scammers use opportunities like this to lie people and milk them.

Scammers are cloning it because there's a big opportunity to make money, Chipmixer still had loyal customers they could assume that its one of the domains owned by Chipmixer and they are back in business in mixing, so those who are not reading updates and not good on how to check the right domain to a clone, they are going to lose money.

There are other mixers that people can use, Chipmixer did not create a hole in the mixing business when it was seized in fact many developers take this opportunity to create a platform that will fill Chipmixer's service.

There's actually nothing to worry about. There's something with brands, when a particular brand is flagged, everything including name or activities involving the brand is also flagged.
There's actually nothing on the internet today which has a prefix or suffix of ChipMixer that is legit.

Obvious scam. ChipMixer is shut down, gone for good. We haven't heard of them since that incident with the FBI. Last time logged in: March 14, 2023, 03:14:42 AM. I'm pretty sure they'd have given some signs if they were back in business.

ChipMixer was the most popular mixer known in Bitcointalk,  but considering how popular they were, we didn't see cases of clients complaining of loses. I particularly didn't see, maybe I saw 1 but I cannot actually tell if my memory is failing me.

- The domain name has been created just yesterday, Apr 30 2023 (while we all know about the real Chipmixer site)
- They claim their bitcointalk account is @Chipmixer (while we all know it's not true)

We've seen too many of this type of phishing attempt in the past. Generally speaking I wouldn't trust any new mixer site claiming to be back in business, even if it had previous owners.

There's a federal warrant for Minh Quốc Nguyễn's arrest but I haven't seen any news about him being caught. Even if he wasn't caught, I'm sure he wouldn't be doing something like this again.
