when i took my ant miners in to show them
they freaked out a bit lol

but as most of us has S1 / KNC type miners its not a issue

i did say that if some one want us to host there ant miners then we can charge them for shelf space

but on the hole they think its a good idea

just need to make sure that i have all the information in the right place

I've PM'ed you. But the gist of what I have said in PM for everyone else is this:

I'd build a separate network for the miners, completely firewalled off from any other networks.

I'd also offer two access services, a firewalled NAT service with a DNAT acess to the miners or SSL VPN access, probably for smaller setups

Then a full access service for those who want to provide their own network, e.g. switches and firewall setup.

How I suggest you break it down is:

Space Cost:
Charge by the rack space used:
  • 1 4U Shelf
  • 1/4 Rack
  • 1/2 Rack
  • Full Rack

Power Cost:
Charge by the 1 Amp but give some ideas to help with the AMP->WATT conversion as most miners work in Watts

e.g.:
  • 1 AMPS (240W) e.g. 1 x 180GH Bitfury rig
  • 1.6 AMPS (400W) e.g. 1 x ANTMINER S1
  • 3 AMPS (700W) e.g. 1 x KnC Jupiter
  • 4 AMPS (950W) e.g. 1 x 1TH ANTMINER S2 / 1TH A1 Dragonminer
  • 6 AMPS (1440W) etc

Data:
Miners dont need much data, so probably just a couple of TB a month, maybe 5-10Mb/s would cover any eventuality up to a full rack, but I doubt even that. From what I have seen 3.5 TH of miners only pulls about 3GB a month.

Also, people may also want physical access especially if they get a full rack or multiple racks.

Hi All.

Is there still interest in this kind of service?

I have some additional capacity and am considering offering a UK solution.
Both send and forget as well as VPN access to the hardware.

Good to hear  Smiley

Then it seems you might have some competition - which is good for everyone. Could be time to push the powers that be a little harder, I think whoever can offer this service first will get a good slice of the market..... Wink

As soon as they realise we want to put 10-20KW in a rack they'll say no, I guarantee it. They assume when we say 5kw that it means 1kw most of the time, up to 5. Its not.

I am currently working on 64amps constant draw per rack. So around 14kw without an issue.

I have played with trying more, but heat then becomes the issue.

Still, no harm in trying eh? Many of these large companies generate their own power anyway.......think positive  Wink

Same here, I would like hosting for 8 x Antminer S1's.
