It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

I regret to inform you all that our pool launch for GIARCOC was recently cancelled.

The approach that the developer/s took for launch were not what was stated originally. The source was released on Github after releasing it on megaupload. This is not safe for anyone with a reserve of coin wallets on their PC.

The wallet, which was apparently already stated in the thread, had sources that were incapable of compiling. Pool operators wanting to to use 'giarcoind' had to replace parts of its source with a similar coin's.

These two elements to a coin's launch foreshadow the inevitably possible risks getting involved. The original post was professionally composed, but unfortunately, recent actions have implied otherwise.

If you would like to still mine this coin, stop over at

http://giar.talesfromthescrypt.org/

They are also reliable, but the fee is 1%.

so is the wallet safe?

keep in mind that you get about half the hash of regular scrypt and that is perfectly normal for scrypt-n

EVERYONE PLEASE MOVE FROM HASHFEVER

www.verters.com/mvpool/giarcoin

help us get our first block!

Don't wanna join loosers, go rent some rigs, start finding blocks, than ask people to join you.

+1000

Amusing that you think the pool owners should spend more money on renting rigs just to make you feel safe. I take it you have no idea the cost of running pools?

every wallet has that trojan. it is safe but you should always take as many precautions as possible when using new miners and wallets.

So what command line do I use with talesfromthescrypt to mine with vertminer?

vertminer.conf example:
{
"pools" : [
               {
                               "url" : "stratum+tcp://giar.east.us.talesfromthescrypt.org:5880",
                               "user" : "YOURUSERNAME.YOURWORKERNAME",
                               "pass" : "WORKERPASSWORD"
               }
]
,
"rawintensity" : "5120",
"worksize" : "256",
"lookup-gap" : "2",
"thread-concurrency" : "6336",
"temp-cutoff" : "90",
"expiry" : "30",
"log" : "5",
"queue" : "0",
"scan-time" : "1",
"device" : "0",
"shaders" : "1280",
"scrypt-vert" : true
}

minep.it, you might want to consider disabling registrations if you haven't already so that you don't create your own fork.

I'm just reading the OP and the few posts after it, what does it take to appease you people?  The coin maker does exactly everything you want in a pool, and folks still have 'suggestions' I mean come on.

Everyone is entitled. So if they don't get things exactly the way they want it, there's a problem. Or the coin is crap, or whatever. It's stupid really.
