Previous balance was .606BTC my address 13T8EmRqEHLHDubpJZ6Bc9uDixXhvxBTCv  bought cables for 122$, and 2 gift cards from Gyft one for 125$ other for 50$ which I believe is this transaction https://blockchain.info/tx/16766032571b7a70d643595beaa5f50c4e50d51128009001ff2ebd7897123042 and somehow it ended up costing me 229$ for the gift cards, I guess I somehow paid double for the 50$ GC through gyft

Hmm...so you have the wallet.dat file, but the one address having 0.09btc is not in your list of receiving addresses?
I have no idea how and why this happened...

You using bitcoin-qt correct?  Try launching it with the command line option -rescan.

I think you may still have your coins.  You may just be confused because of some under the hood functionality. There are two outputs in that transaction due to change:https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Change.

Let me know what -rescan turns up.

So if I was using the old qt client, I sent out my remaining balance to a coinbase address which was never received/unconfirmed , and then I updated to the new qt client, have I lost my btc since the btc in my account was "change" and did not do a wallet backup after receiving the "change" , even though I do have the wallet.dat

No you shouldn't have lost them.

Have you launched BitcoinQT with the rescan option yet?

Try opening the console and typing "dumpprivkey 149ygujMrWdmvd6Q4Jcx6J3Gkb39mmehGH" (without the quotes).  Don't post the output here but just use the command to make sure the private key for those coins is in your wallet.  Let us know if the command suceeds or if you get an error.

That's not good. Undecided  After that I'm out of ideas.

I can however answer this question:
So if I was using the old qt client, I sent out my remaining balance to a coinbase address which was never received/unconfirmed , and then I updated to the new qt client, have I lost my btc since the btc in my account was "change" and did not do a wallet backup after receiving the "change" , even though I do have the wallet.dat
Bitcoin Core (also known as bitcoin-qt), has 100 pre-generated 'change' addresses (and there corresponding private keys) in the 'keypool'.  An address is used from the keypool every time you send btc or create a recieving address.  The keypool is persistant through an upgrade, so upgrading won't cause you to lose your coins.  This large keypool size allows you send and receive coins without having to backup each time.  You only lose coins if you send btc or create a recieving address more than one-hundred times combined without backup up your wallet.  Hopefully you didn't do this and still have your private keys.

Why doesn't QT gives a backup warning after those 100 address are used. Dev should add this function, i dont think its hard to implement it.

Bitcoin Core would have to have some way of knowing when you last backup up your wallet.  I don't think there's a way to do this if people backup there wallet directly from the bitcoin directory.

This has been a known issue for a long time. There isn't a way around it without becoming annoying to the average user. Most newbie guides tell you to make backups regularly. Every week, every month, ...

What I tell people now is:

1. Make a new wallet.
2. Encrypt that new wallet with a good long password.
3. Backup that new wallet.
4. (Optional, if you had old coins): Load up your old wallet and send all the coins to the new wallet. Do not import private keys unless you know what you are doing.

I've used multi bit for a few transactions, roughly 13. In my latest transaction, my sent BTC went days without being processed and still had a square in the status. It was seen by one peer and was unconfirmed. After researching a few blogs of people encountering similar problems, I Reset the Blockchain and now it shows me receiving the original purchase, but then I am left with 0 spendable BTC. Can someone please help me find my BTC so that I can get it to where it needs to be please?!!?! Pulling my hair out here. Thank you!!!
