blatant scam if I ever saw one on the internet. Lots of red flags that are easy to see even if you've barely scratched the surface of bitcoin information with one thing being the fact that Satoshi Nakamoto couldn't and wouldn't even show up for his own coin, so why the fuck would he advertise something as scummy as OTOM? If you know how he worked in the past and what he stood for you pretty much wouldn't fall for this shit, but I could se a lot of people falling for the scam just cause they're dragging Satoshi Nakamoto's name in the tin like what they always do in the past.

I suggest that newbies have some level of skepticism with them before they make a purchase or a stake on something, even bitcoin at this point. There's nothign wrong with being very curious to know the deeper implications of everything as it is your money after all, be wary and have a vigilant attitude if you don't want to fall victims to scams.

So did you buy the domain name or was the entire site and all the emails and everything for sale?

From what I understand he didn’t use his email address and it was reregisteted by someone else. And bitcointalk admin had to freeze satoshis account because that user could easily reset the password and pretend to be satoshi.

However when the user made a new account, he most likely didn’t get access to satoshis emails prior to the account being reregistered.

So I don’t think there is anything of value there.

My theory is that the user may have indeed gained control or purchased the domain, however is using this recently acquired power to push a false/fake narrative. I explained more in other posts made on the several other threads that the OP has made within other sections of the forum.

Alex, thanks for sharing. But if I may ask...

What is your end goal here?

You claim that you do not wish to publicly announce the identity of Satoshi if you discover it, but you are leading the community into finding it out or at least to know more about the early days and possible involved people.

What is your motivation and what is the objective of your efforts?

Also having a hard time understanding how can you get access to old Satoshi e-mails by linking the domain to your proton account. Can you be more specific on how thats possible? When buying a domain i dont believe you have access to the previous host/server in order to reach older data. Maybe you can help us understand.

I asked the same question on one of the other threads created by this user:

Congratulations on getting a hold of the domain. I have just read this thread and following saw the chain on this thread which was referring to the previous owner. One thing I am extremely curious about is how are the new owners able to access old emails? This is something that is confusing to me. If a hosting plan expires, or if email servers are no longer active, can they be reinstated no matter how much time passes, even after the domain and hosting/servers expire/change? This is a new concept to me.

Anyhow - It looks like you have good intentions for the domain which I am pleased to see Smiley I look forward to seeing what you find share from your research and findings!

The more that I read, the more that I am beginning to believe that yes, maybe this user has gained access to the domain - however is now using that domain to spread or create a false narrative (for what motivation, I am not sure and I do not know).

It is beyond me as to how this user is going through emails of Satoshi, it makes no sense to me at all how this is possible. As far as my technical knowledge goes with domains, servers, data etc, it's not possible (to me), unless the OP has some form of forensics background (though even then, I still don't understand how this is possible and why it hasn't been done sooner by an authority).

The OP needs to clear this up before continuing to post, or I will personally be creating a negative tag for false/misinformation.

I think that if the OP really wants us to take this more seriously and listen to the bold "research" that is apparently being shared from the emails that are apparently belonging to satoshi/the account registered on vistomail, then the OP must verifiably prove to us exactly how access to the emails was achieved. As, like mentioned in the quote, I have no idea how this is even possible.

This was all very interesting when it was first posted, though now it seems like something fishy is going on. It would be a shame if it has turned out that a bad actor has control of this domain...

Could have been a dangerous scam to be honest with control of that email but anybody in bitcoin for a while would need to see a Satoshi claim proved cryptographically. Nobody has ever been able to do that, notoriously Faketoshi Wright.

Also the main clue that this is nonsense is that Satoshi would never promote some cheap, nasty thing like OTOM. Bitcoin is his baby, his art, his masterpiece. He would never come back like this.
Yes a lot of people would know that they're going to need the proof that it's the real Satoshi but those "a lot of people" are just a drop of water to the current ocean of crypto enthusiast meaning that there's bound to be some people that won't know that there's going to be a specific proof to confirm the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto which means there's a lot of people that's going to fall for this scam which is a good thing for scammers because not everyone knows who he is and that he's gone forever. Of course, the real Satoshi won't promote something cheap but the people that didn't know him wouldn't know that and they'll think that Satoshi is real and that this is a legitimate new token from the Bitcoin founder.

Even if it was the real Satoshi who did this, I would never just believe what he is currently promoting. Everyone can claim to be Satoshi because the real Satoshi is still anonymous until now. Never believe anything said by an account or email in the name of Satoshi, the real Satoshi never did anything stupid because he was born a smart person. Satoshi has so many Bitcoins in his wallet, it's impossible for him to collect enough change to support his living. Lol

Haha, there's a point but I'm wondering if he's taking a close look at the current market and network situation if he's alive how would he react to the shit people are spreading on the clean network by the name of Ordinals and other shity scrap. Now I've even seen people calling Bitcoin a good network, which means their perspective is changing but still there's a hope of a consistent network touching the heights of its glory with a clean performance by eliminating the Shit.

I've seen a dozen of topics discussing the network issues. Have nothing to say about what can be the perfect solution.

Exactly. No matter what account of Satoshi would come back online, without proof that it is definitely him that account wouldn't be of much help to any scammy project. I think for a second it would be exciting to see accounts of him come back online, but as you said, everone who has been around for a while would be highly skeptical as it wouldn't fit Satoshi at all.

Besides his old email address holding some value,  because it was once owned by a famous person, there really isn't anything to gain when you got access to his emails.

He was very privacy oriented, I don't think he would leave any clues or private keys in his emails. Those in my opinion I think were long purged when the account went inactive after 5-10 years of satoshi never logging in.

Most likely that email address gets nothing but scams or people begging for bitcoin. I am sure every day there are people emailing Satoshi and asking him to spare a bitcoin or two. Its not really worth anything however.

This is actually a super early warning. Have not seen it promoted on twitter yet.

"Satoshi Nakamoto is BACK with his satoshi@vistomail.com email & will SOON promote OTOM a bitcoin BRC20 scam on http://vistomail.com

Michael Webber who owned http://anonymousspeech.com & http://vistomail.com for the anon mail service did not renew the domains. BE CAREFUL "

https://twitter.com/dogdaddotx/status/1666853103667224577?s=20

Title though is somewhat misleading, it's the email address not Satoshi himself. I think we have seen a lot of impostors and wannabees before and hopefully Bitcoin enthusiast by now knows that Satoshi is not coming back and those who claim to be him is fake. Hopefully, newbies are not going to fall for this trick. And promoting OTOM and then using Satoshi's email account? Hopefully it will back fire on the project as we somewhat this whole BRC20 didn't sit well with us because obviously, it's a deliberate attack on Bitcoin, and with this, it's proven that they will do everything to harm Satoshi and his invention.

That is correct.  He does not have access to Satoshi's emails, even if Satoshi ever used that email address in the past, which is doubtful.  He simply come into possession of an old domain that was once used for a free email service.  It would be like if someone got control of the aol.com domain - that wouldnt automatically give them access to all the old emails ever hosted on AOLs servers.

The guy just has the domain name, not Satoshi's inbox or anything like that.  I doubt there is anything of value or related to Bitcoin's origins there.

Who so ever you see anywhere claiming to be satoshi nakamoto I think it's fake. If the real satoshi were to come back to reality life, people would know it's him. Just like he has appeared in bitcoin forum an communicated vividly with Poeple by explaining things In details to prove he was the real satoshi and People confirmed him. So I think anyone who comes to impersonate satoshi would be caught because the real satoshi would never have any scam attempt because he has some millions of bitcoin in his possession and will never come promoting an altcon or even begging people online. His motive or purpose for humanity is to make humanity free from poverty, fast ,easy and seemless transaction and nothing more.

most of us do not really know satoshi we do not even know if that is his real name or just a pseudonym created just for bitcoin it still baffles me as to why satoshi would disappear right after launching bitcoin it seems like a plot of a really thrilling and mysterious series

well anyway a lot of scammers would use satoshi’s name to push a new token and gullible people upon seeing bitcoin’s success have already associated success with satoshi’s name so now they’re gonna think that it is extremely possible that after years of hiding, satoshi resurfaces to launch a new coin i hope people are way smarter than this especially if they are dealing with cryptocurrency
That's already a given that Satoshi is a pseudonym and to answer your burning question as to why he suddenly disappeared after creating bitcoin, I'd like to think of it like that intro of the cartoon Avatar: The Last Airbender, there's no explanation to the vanishing of the Avatar in the intro and people didn't ask questions, it should be the same with Satoshi.

That's the sad and fuming part for me, them using the Bitcoin and Bitcointalk founder to scam people into thinking that there's going to be a new bitcoin and that they need to buy now before the prices go up like bitcoin but in reality it's just a scheme to make them think that they're going to make a lot of money really fast and the real winners to that scheme are the people behind the scam that uses Satoshi Nakamoto's name in vain.
