Gambling brings so much joy especially when you're on the winning side, when things are all in your favor it just seems like you should never stop. But when it gets bad, you look for a way to pour out your anger, either on someone or on something.
When someone is addicted to gambling I feel it's worst than one who's addicted to drugs.

So much has been said about betting companies regarding how they should be responsible in helping those who are addicted to gambling, although is really hard to do so on there own path because gamblers can't be monitored.
I don't know if booking an appointment with a therapist would help or is something you as a gambler who wants out should do on your own.

The question is if you're a gambler or have someone who is, what's the best way to help out. And what's your story on escaping that addiction (gambling)...

You do not actually need to stop gambling since it's just for fun and entertainment for most people you could still occasionally gamble have bets etc, then maybe win or lose what so ever it wasn't really bad to gamble sometimes, you just need to put a limitation on it know when to stop, also have the discipline that you need in order to gamble responsibly.

In my opinion, it was just a matter of commitment, you could easily overpower your addict if you really want to, I just think that this addict let themself become a gambling addict, or should I say they were just greedy for winning and putting every time on luck gambling all of their money just to win. One reason might be due to the fact that they believe they can turn their little capital into a huge amount of they continue trying their luck but they are some who got addicted due to frustration (as stated by another user ) and for a case where money wasn't the cause of the addiction this your suggestion won't work, they are some people that are currently addicted to gambling and yet they are not aware of it or perhaps they keep reassuring their self that they are not.

Mr.suevie what books can we read that will turn 100 bulk into $1k or even more this must be some form of miracle books that make money grow like grass,  and just Asalastantiger stated, there is no way to earn such an amount constantly with hard work and indeed, nothing works unless we make it work and so since money doesn't grow on trees or there is free money anywhere one need to put in a lot of efforts in making that extra bulk and sometimes you can not be consistent in the amount you make daily even in business.

Crazy thing indeed knowing that in every problem does have that kind of solution on which taking up some suicide is never been that ideal.It is really just that there are people who arent really that good when it comes to decision making but rather they would really be tolerating their addiction towards gambling which is something that needs to be avoided in the first place. Add to that luck that is also a very huge deciding factor on your streak in gambling that can make or break your profit. It's a very tricky element of gambling that not everyone will ever have at a given time. Even if you have all the strategies at your disposal, you will still need luck to get through and win something that is worth your time and your effort.

Sports betting and slots are very different, and we must have luck in slot games. Meanwhile, apart from luck in sports betting, we also have to do an in-depth analysis to find which team or player has a bigger chance of winning than their opponent.

I really have loads of sympathy for people who wants to stop gambling, because people are bombarded with online gambling related advertisements on all platforms. I counted the gambling advertisements on television the other day... and I nearly fell off my chair, when I saw how much advertisements are shown in 1 hour.  

Then people go online and they get bombarded with gambling advertisements on their phone / laptop / iPad etc... etc.. it is just crazy how much money are paid to advertise gambling content.
