This forum was created for people to learn, share ideas and make useful contributions in regards to Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency in general. When I started this journey earlier this year actually it was a friend that introduced me to bitcointalk, but it reached to a point I wanted to be discouraged but I got encouragement from some senior here whose advise came from a particular thread that we as newbies should understand a particular topic before contributing or make our opinion known on such topic.
The first thing I did was to understand the rules and regulations that governs the forum and abide by it, to an extent am being use to what is happening here and more, and I believe that in no distant time my contributions will be so enormous in this forum, this will be the fate of every other newbie that is hardworking and also all this will be achievable by encouragement from our senior colleagues it can be through several process,not necessarily meriting.

Criticism: there are constructive criticism that tends to correct a newbie by setting him or her in the right direction. using myself as an example, I was corrected by one of our senior colleagues here on the need to use punctuation marks where necessary in all my writeup since then I have been very careful in other to avoid the repeatation of such in future.
We newcomers should know that our time and continues stay in this forum depends on us and we have to cultivate the habit of learning and making prestigious use of our time here by making more detailed research of what we don't know before bringing it to this forum and also where we don't understand we ask question so that people that know more than us can put us through.

Many seniors and friends from your country have good knowledge about forums. Not only you, I also learned a lot from seniors from your country of origin until now.
I think you are in the right environment. Just like me who is very lucky to have seniors and an environment that cares so much about my progress.

I almost gave up when the merit system was implemented.
But on the basis of encouragement and motivation that continues to be given by them to make me active again.
From my experience here, many newbies give up when something they want to achieve is difficult to achieve.
Suggestions or criticisms given to you regarding punctuation, understanding the rules and so on are very valuable things.

OP. If one day you achieve what is your goal, don't stay silent and teach those who need direction and guidance like you have been supported by seniors.

Critique is never what should shut up anybody up on the internet, but some people are so naive, even on the internet, that on telling them a little "shut up," they will remain quite, maybe until you ask them Waxup? But here on the forum, no one cares about how you feel if you are criticized or insulted. No one will even care to ask about you if you decide to leave. On this forum, if you decide to remain quiet, it would take no long time for people to forget about you, so you must be productive in the ideas you share, and when you get insulted, just shrug it off and move on.

Change is the only constant in life; those changes don't just happen over night; they are based on the ability to learn and accept correction, which can make you adapt to new things and develop.
 
This forum is not just about learning from senior colleagues, like you refer to, who rank above your grade. Anyone can actually teach and correct any member who also finds himself or herself lost over something or makes a mistake in a certain situation. Not everything dropped by higher-ranking members is always correct and the right thing; just because they are higher-ranking doesn't mean they can't make mistakes, and when you detect any mistake, you are also free to redirect them in the right direction.
 
One thing that helps members grow so well in life and anywhere they find themselves is to always be open to learning, accept and take correction where necessary, and when you have something to contribute, you should do it without the fear of getting punished. Not to forget, abiding by the rules, like you have mentioned, is a primary thing to do.

I don't think you should bother to much about how Senior members react to your post or should you be bother about giving advice for now, you because you say all that on your post doesn't mean you would do it, I think newbies are pushing the wrong effort by making this sort of post, it's unnecessarily and sounds unreal.

The stage is already set for you to go for everything you want on this forum you don't need to tell us this, just start doing your very best to see you have a very productive stay on the forum, this should be your priority, build and improve yourself first before giving advice.

Nothing is instant in this world because everything needs a process for us to achieve, many people will share knowledge and the initial process when they get to know forums and the best way so that you can focus more on learning about forums is by "reading". Criticism is not always considered negative as long as it gives direction to anyone, because with this criticism we will add to our knowledge, so there is no need to be allergic when dealing with criticism from people who have experience in forums, because in fact it is the impetus that will make us grow.

All that needs to be done is to read more and study something that you think can provide insight into the knowledge you want to learn, nothing is difficult when we are consistent in learning but unfortunately many people are inconsistent and in the end give up and hopefully you are not included in that group.

Most of the time, being desperate to rank up is the primary reason that some beginners get banned from the site due to plagiarism and violations of several forum rules. But, if everything was done step by step over time, with correct adherence to the rules and some excellent contributions to the forum, a newcomer today could become a legendary member tomorrow.

Everyone of us as newly introduced had a fair share of one discouragement or so. But for one thing, if you have a reason of being part of the forum as a member then that reason should be a backbone to you going despite the criticisms that may arise from other members about how you must have made a post or how insignificant your post might be likened to be. We are not perfect and mistake is necessary so we can learn from them and improve.

For OP he was lucky to have someone to encourage him but them what about those of us that don't , that probably came across the forum by coincidence of searching for bitcoin related informations, that's where you just got to be your encourager by focusing your mind on the goal that brought you to the forum and how you can creatively achieve it. The underlying factor about this whole talk of encouragement is, never allowing anyone's opinion have a torn on your flesh cause that's has you start getting discouraged.

Welcome and i am glad tou are beginning to u understand the forum one thing I will like you to develop which will help you greatly here on Bitcoin talk is thick skin to absorb criticism both constructive criticism and attacks.
But if you don't give up on your journey,  in no time you will blend with the forum and be able to flow with the discussions in a constructive manner and approach,  so never mind what people think about your posts or topics you created all you need to do is to learn from your mistakes and move on.

Afte reading the part where you tried recounting how you started this journey, I was drowned to looking at your rank and upon seeing Jr. Member, I understood that the journey is still far from you. Perhaps not in knowledge but , the forum ranking profile.
The goodnews is, the ranking doesn't matter much outside the forum and what counts in all ramifications is the Knowledge your able to grab through the time you spend in this learning space.

On that, I'll say welcome to learning and as much as you do your best to stay encouraged, its a step at a time and your getting there. Just keep pushing and acquire as much information as you could find when you try.

Why are the newbies making it feels like theirs criticism on them here on this forum, am seeing more than two threads already created, some of them are similar to each other talking on same newbie experience on the forum, please are these newbies coming here to speed up their ranking up chances by physhing for merit or they are just causing stir to make other newbies feels been cheated.

Most of the time impatient people never reach their goals as they just quit earlier. They'll think that success seems too easy to get and they are wrong because the truth is that - no sweet success if we never work hard and waited patiently. I don't understand but in this new generation, they are really impatient and always wanted instant. I see how these people become desperate in achieving their goals too quickly and easily, and that is why they will do it in an illegal way.

Good to know you were corrected here and you learnt from it and right now you said you are doing it right but have you really improved on the right use of punctuation marks? If yes then you need to always preview your works before posting so you will be able to observe and correct some little typographical errors because I have seen several mistakes you have made when posting which can be easily detected if you preview your write-ups before posting. I hope you see this as a cool observation and not an insult.

It is not an easy journey on the forum. Take the critism and turn them to your strength as a reason that you will get better and that including improving on yourself, learn bitcoin and everything about cryptocurrency so that you can also teach not only on the forum but also people around you. Study wide and put effort more you will see yourself rising fast but don't focus on merit, it will come if you have improved on yourself.

It's called constructive criticism, and with that you shouldn't take it negatively, but instead learn from it and that is a good sign that you can really go your way up in this community.

We've seen a lot of newbies come and go, and they don't like to be criticized and they take it personally and that's why they are no longer in this community. But if you strived hard enough and learn from others as well then you can improved and one day you can reach your dreams here, i.e if you wanted to rank up or become a senior member yourself, thus you are the one going to tell newbies and guide them here.

You know, it’s always a good thing to learn from your seniors as they are well knowledgeable and well experienced in the forum or in the crypto market. Eventually, you will also be like them in the future. Although some may not be teach by seniors since we have to deal it on our own, but once we survived that phase, we can always pass our learnings to newbies in the forum so that they will also feel that there are people who also care for their progress as that’s what forum is designed for, to help and learn from one another.

Expect criticism all the time as you can never control other people to judge based on what they see. But never be affected by it as you know in yourself that you can always prove it to them that you are good and will be a lot better in the future. Just give your best in the forum, after all what’s more important as when they come to see that you’re a significant member, they will start criticizing you in a positive way.

Hard work is a universal currency that procures success. Everything you want to achieve in life will need hard work and dedication. Growing up in this forum is not easy but if you put effort into learning about Bitcoin and the forum, you will achieve your goal of excelling here. Every member has his views about different topics so you don't have to expect everyone to accept your views and opinions. So when people criticize your work or position you should be willing to analyze those comments and learn from some of them. It shouldn't be seen as an attack or confrontation because it will lead to discouragement.

The senior members of this forum are always willing to assist the upcoming members in any area. That is why you are free to ask questions without any restrictions. From your post you have shown that you are willing to learn and accept criticism, this is an indication that if you put more effort, you will achieve your goals and application.

At the end, your contribution after a while, will be marked by merit. If you make 100 posts and don't have merit after a few months, your posts likely don't have any good quality and contribution for the community.

When you start out, you are a Newbie, and you will run into various annoying limits. These limits will be reduced to the point where you shouldn't usually notice them after you have participated in the forum for a few weeks. If you are on the forum to talk, then that's all you really need to know about rank. Don't worry about it too much, and you will eventually rank up.

If you want to maximize your rank, then you need to increase two statistics which are listed on your profile:

• Activity, which is maximized by posting once per day on average. Posting more than that is useless in raising your activity.
• Merit, which is gained by making good posts.

If you make ten thousand posts in a week, your activity will be capped and you will still be a Newbie. If you make ten thousand useless posts over any period of time, you will gain zero merit and you will still be a Newbie. You can rank up only by making good posts consistently. It's quality over quantity.

When trying to write quality posts, a lot of people act as though they're writing a book report for school: putting facts that we already know into their own words. Nobody wants to read that, and you will not get merit for it. Moreover, the length of your post and the quality of your English are only minor factors. In trying to write a quality post worthy of merit, you should offer new ideas, personal experiences, or perspectives that other forum users will actually find new and interesting.

Consistency in learning from other forum members through their topics and contributions is the needful for any newbie to grow. If you are been criticize don't see it as something bad because if you are not criticized you will not know that what you post was wrong or is not good enough. We should not give up on critism in the forum and even outside the forum because it will  make us learn and become better,since we will not make such mistakes anymore or it will be a challenge for us to sit up. The forum is a lovely place with different people and different characters. You should take it easy with yourself so that you can learn fast and also tolerate criticism. A newbie should stay more focus on acquiring knowledge than any other thing to avoid distraction.
