IMHO, even if we'll list as much as important factors for learning through our worst bets and losses is that we will still forget most of them. And with the lessons that we may learn from those, eventually they'll have no place in our minds when we're currently or actively gambling.

Because it gets into our minds that the most important thing is to win. And we only do realize these factors and lessons when we've lost and we've got nothing left.

The latter part of having nothing after we gamble is pushing us to the point that there must be something wrong and we do recognize that at the end. It's true that all of those points should be remembered but situation changes and we often forget it when our emotions are being mixed.

I believe the most important point is to know about the sports we wanted to bet with.  We must know the information, strength, and weaknesses of each team.  This way we can have a better chance of winning.  We must pump up our skills in analysis and updated information so that we can tell precisely the condition of each team.  From that we can create a much better prediction on which team will end up victorious.

The second? OP seems to acknowledge that luck exists in sports as well. While it may be rare, instances where underdogs suddenly became champions because of luck isn't that odd imo. After analyzing all my sports betting waves, I could see that being emotional is where I mostly lost.
Being a fan of a lot of teams will make you bet on the wrong end. I don't know how that can be controlled though especially if they are always the underdogs. I tend to bet for them and not take the handicap given by the sports bookies. If I did, I may have made some instead of losing more this whole season.
Regarding parlay. I just learned that recently to go for quality over quantity.
I take four to five players most of the time and put them all in a bet builder (same game parlay). Those players are known to make stats all the time and not risk it with someone who might not play the whole game.
There are more mistakes that I've done but it's always cool for people to share their experiences and then learn from them. Actually, there's nothing wrong on what you're doing before. That is how gambling should be played, for the people to have an entertainment and not to have a source of income because it won't just work smoothly.

I do agree with that. It's not really my first time to read about some stuffs like this and some points to remember so that our mistakes will not happen again or rather our mistakes will be minimized but the thing is, when we're in the middle of the situation and is going through some ups and downs while gambling, it will be just hard to remember these points because one thing will remain and that is to win.

Still, the OP deserves some credits for taking his time to make us remember about what should we do and remember before we engage towards any gambling activities.

Like what I also mentioned to similar posts like these, experience will still be the best teacher. Even if a person reads tons of guides and information about a certain act, he/she will not fully grasp the whole situation until they experience it.

Just like in gambling, the best way to learn from one's experience is to personally experience the win/loss of your resources. Until you realized personally that you are guilty of your actions, that is when a person is more convinced that he/she will at least attempt to stop gambling.

Though this may be the case, I still appreciate people for compiling several lists about their techniques in order to avoid getting addicted. That's right, for gamblers like us, I especially don't need to be that complicated, because I personally gamble with what I'm prepared to lose. I don't chase victory because for me it is a bonus from the pleasure I feel when playing gambling. I don't deny that I also want to win and all gamblers will also be very happy when they win, especially in large numbers.
Until now I have only done self-control so that I stop when I have lost what I am ready to lose, and when I win I will also stop when I feel that I have enough, and also I use money that I don't use for anything, or I have budgeted it for gambling, and I have met all needs, including saving or investing.

That's right, for gamblers like us, I especially don't need to be that complicated, because I personally gamble with what I'm prepared to lose. if you will keep yourself at bay when it comes to gambling, you won't get into trouble. like if you only bet on sports that you are very familiar of and that means, you only place bet if you are rooting for the team or on a specific athlete. and you know your limits when it comes to bankroll. so you won't have any problem even if you lose because that money is considered lost when you start using them for your bets.
of course, you want to win as much as possible. but if you lost the game, and you are using your extra funds, your life won't be a mess, unlike when you use a loaned money, right?

What do you say, ideally like that. however, there are several other mechanisms that we must be involved in when conducting research to determine a bet. apart from what you said in this post, there are other things that we consider. usually, I will look for various up-to-date information regarding the teams that will compete and be part of our bet. the choice, not just on which team is stronger. but to minimize defeat, we have to find all the information and loopholes from the two teams that we are researching. Apart from that, the formation and system factors used by the two trainers are always our consideration. that's important, because at least we'll have a little picture of how this match goes.

So, there are many approaches we have to take if we want to minimize defeat. everything, will be interrelated depending on the extent to which we have knowledge and insight regarding the sport. that's why, I prefer to bet on sports, especially football. at least from the 5 matches that I chose as a single bet, maybe only 2 bets missed what we predicted.
well, that way, we will win the rest of the betting session that we do. at least, it's more fun than any gamble for me personally.  moreover, it provides a sizable probability of victory depending on our insight. the rest, let luck decide.

Keeping yourself at bay means maintaining discipline. A disciplined gambler will barely get into trouble because of the disciplined behaviour in gambling. An undisciplined gambler will most likely spend on gambling recklessly without control even if they have other  responsibilities with money.

From the losses that I have made in sports betting, the biggest points I have learnt is that every gambler should not only depend on copy betting, that is copying games from other sports bettors without knowing exactly why you are betting on a particular team to win.
