Bitcoin miners draw a lot more power than typical home appliances. And they do it 24/7. And the generate a lot of heat. These factors combined create a lot more fire hazards.

We're talking about miners generating enough to heat your home, or your water, right?
A typical bathroom water heater uses 2kW. A Bitmain S19 uses 3kW, that's more or less the average AC unit. Nothing your house can't handle, especially if you used electric heaters in the past.
I don't think that there's a significantly bigger fire hazard if you replace your 10kW electric furnace with 3 S19s. You'll get similar heat from them and generated bitcoin should allow the miners to pay for themselves.

Quote
Of course taking precautions will reduce the risks, but in real world not all people think ahead. If everyone was doing it, there would be no house fires.

And about house fires, they tend to increase in winter when people start using electric heaters. Mass use of ASICS as electric heaters could have the same effect.

The same effect? And that's bad? Would you like people to have free heat from miners and also reduce the risk of fires?
If someone was able to burn his house with a water kettle, he's not going to become more careful with his miners. Some people are just like that and they'll blow the house up with a gas grill and electrocute themselves with a hairdryer.

This is efficiency at its best. It would have clearly cost more, to keep the pool warm and keep the mining machines cool to avoid overheating or any hazards that might likely occur.
While this effectively works for 24hrs non stop in a cycle,  the mechanics of its working, is not too different from how power generation plants recycle water from dams or rivers to produce electricity.

The harm I see here is if persons lived within the building where this mining rig operates. Otherwise, if persons just come and go, there's really no harm.
Innovation is not restricted to only the computer and technology we use. it is how we get to apply the knowledge of these computers and technology to our lives.

Maybe 4 months ago I saw this video on Linus Tech Tips youtube channel in which he attempts to heat his workspace with mining rigs.
Here's the link if you want to check it out. Ask me why I'm Mining in 2023...
Though the results were not magnificent, the rig did increase the heat by 1 degree. So it was only one rig that managed to do that. And I am sure if we use a good number of them, we can surely do it. It is a very efficient way to use wasted energy to do something productive with it. This is a great way to not waste energy. I have seen some bathrooms in Japan, in a video, where they installed a sink above the water tank for the flush. So when you wash your hand, the water then gets put into the tank which gets used later on to flush it. Same energy, different things. It's amazing to see how people are getting smarter in terms of reusing waste to produce something.

I don't get how people could be negative and judge this, probably if you are mining Bitcoin nothing smart you do is credited. I mean, I couldn't ever think of this if I had miners, this is a genius idea - you're earning cash and not wasting any energy, that's what you call maximum utilization.

As for fire hazards, I would like you to see which kind of old, rubbish electrical appliances (that draw more electricity than a miner) are being used in poor countries non-stop and rarely anything happens. I doubt miners would have any risk of a fire hazard and if was my home or business at question, I would definitely install some safety measures so even if a fire or anything similar happens, it would be easily possible to fix the situation immediately.

Either way, a smart idea at work and I think this could be applied to many other stuff if thought out well.

this is a great idea and from some of the articles I've read, actually carbon isn't too dangerous for the human body but to use hot water that comes from bitcoin mining, I think it still needs further research so it's safe for humans who bathe it.

I have also seen on TikTok, where a bitcoin miner in the Netherlands uses waste water from bitcoin mining to irrigate agriculture, I really like the many bitcoin miners who continue to experiment to take advantage of bitcoin mining. bitcoin mining never broke the earth.

BIG WINNER!

This is not surprising, it is an obvious fact that mining rigs produce tremendous heat which can be manipulated to use as a heater.  It has been used as a heater during winter so it is not a surprise if they use it to heat baths.  With human mind being creative, I believe this is not the only useful thing miner can take advantage of the heat produced by the mining rig especially a  mining farm.
I think this ought to be the starting point. We will start hearing about other beneficial ways that miners have used the heat from their mining rigs to develop ideas that will benefit humanity, as the miners advance with their bitcoin rigs (many people getting involved in bitcoin rigs).

In the future, I'd love to see and hear more. As other ideas will emerge from the heat generated by bitcoin mining as time goes on with the miners.

This is interesting, converting one form of energy to other and then using that energy which was considered waste by many to a business.
Let's see how this goes as it sounds good on paper but it takes efforts to make it working in an actual business environment.

By doing this, they also bring down their electricity cost as it's making them money to pay for electricity Cheesy

obviously, there are people who don't like what they are doing because of the carbon emission produced by the Bitcoin mining rigs. but personally, I think this idea is genius, they are saving money for their business by using the heat from the mining rigs and they are earning money from mining Bitcoin, it's a win-win.
Honestly, the idea is very good since you're saving money, it was like "2 birds in one stone", but if your health is at risk I think it's no good to be called as genius. I agree in the saying that health is wealth, because even if you have a lot of money but if you die because of sickness, your money will be useless. So I think if they care for their customers should find ways how to eradicate or lessen the the carbon emissions produced by the Bitcoin mining rig so that somehow it minimizes the risk to customers to get sick.

I've check the content in tiktok and gets explained with the narrator actually the people behind on it was a genius, they manage to use the energy came from those rigs instead of using the fan only to make it cool they use the rigs and another thing is they earning crypto while having a business.
Just my concern to make the rig properly work still need to have a good temps then mining rigs must need to have cool in take my curious about it is how they transfer the heat to the bath and still make cool those rigs to mine continuously

Bitcoin miners or any crypto miners for that matter should always study on how they can utilize all the things at their disposal. Rather than allow the heat to escape into the outside environment, using it for commercial purposes is always a good idea - good for business, as always. This is one way, the industry can deflect the "blame" that many environmentalists or the green movement heaped on Bitcoin mining. And it makes a good story that can always inspire all crypto enthusiasts like you and me.

radiation??? (facepalm)

asics do not produce radiation. its jsut the amount of electric flowing through metal circuits so fast it heats the metal.. the same as a coffee kettle or any electric heater operates..

its not radiation to worry about its if you heat water too much it boils and the heat can burn your skin. thats where you would need to have some thermometers and a flush system to pump in cold water into the bath to moderate the heat from the asic heating systems hot water.. much like most baths using a hot and cold tap

anything that produces heat also produces radiation. just because you can't see it doesn't mean it is not there. any heat source produces infrared radiation.

In my opinion it is not safe for human health, the amount of carbon released when mining bitcoin is too large. No one wants their health to be in danger when using bad energy

Bitcoin mining equipments become more efficient and profitable when they are used to solve multiple problems at once. That's what miners, especially the small and medium scale ones, who wish to be consistently profitable should be encouraged to do. The more problems the mining equipments solve the better.
Instead of buying none mining equipments and paying for electricity/fuel to heat the pool, you could just get yourself Bitcoin mining equipments to do that for you while earning bitcoins at thesame time. This method would be more beneficial to people living in colder regions of the world.

In confirmation of your words, I remember that in one of the discussions someone was discussing the idea of benefiting from the thermal energy generated by mining machines to operate other machines. Other people were discussing the possibility of extracting electric energy from stationary sports bikes that are used in sports halls and using that energy to run mining machines.
During my little experience with the mining field, there are many ideas and innovations that can be applied and that are able to facilitate the process. The problem always remains the same as all those creative ideas are processed by solo miners and not big farms.

I thought I'd share this with you guys.

I stumbled upon a video on TikTok(link below) talking about a bathhouse business in New York using the heat from the Bitcoin mining rigs that they own to heat the water that they use for their pools. for anyone curious about the process of how they heat the water they use for their pools, they made a FAQ on their website about it, I'll share the link below.

obviously, there are people who don't like what they are doing because of the carbon emission produced by the Bitcoin mining rigs. but personally, I think this idea is genius, they are saving money for their business by using the heat from the mining rigs and they are earning money from mining Bitcoin, it's a win-win.

also, judging from their FAQ, it looks like they also accept Bitcoin as a payment method(surprising).

FAQ
https://help.abathhouse.com/hc/en-us/articles/16748674443924-Do-you-mine-Bitcoin-How-does-it-work-
While I understand the worries and concerns of people in the environmental sector, what they fail to realize is that bitcoin mining's not even that detrimental to the environment anymore, since a lot of the newer models have become efficient in what they do and while they still require copious amounts of energy, I'm pretty sure a lot of movements within this industry already did their part to lessen the effects of bitcoin in the environment.

While this news is not "new" anymore cause I also saw this guy on TikTok who tries out side-hustles he sees on the internet and had once tried to use a bitcoin miner in his house as some form of space heater, the fact that there are more people who's jumping in on this trend is interesting.

There're plenty of ways to get past these environmental concerns by switching to green energy. Bitcoin's impact on the environment is the least of our issues when it comes to discussing what is more detrimental to it. As we've seen from this company, even heat, which is wasted energy, can be taken advantage of for heating purposes. Generally, there are ways to decrease mining's carbon footprint but it's yet to be applied. Miners generate a ton of heat which we haven't fully grasped that can be used in a variety of ways. Not long ago, I had also seen heaters that were mining Bitcoin simultaneously, but the whole ordeal wasn't too effective or efficient, but miners with a few modifications could possibly even heat whole rooms.

It was amazing one to see this video, because it had two purposes.Because they earn huge from it,at first they earn from the bitcoin mining. The bitcoin mining was rare one for now,the bitcoin they earn from the mining will have huge value in long run. They just need to hold in the cold storage.Secondly they also earning from the bathhouse business, which double their income.Really the big appreciated one and bitcoin miners can use this technique to earn huge in long run.
