Have some empathy for OP people, fighting with addiction is a real thing. We aren't always so coherent and logical when we have lost a lot.

OP has lost his money and is angry, that's perfectly natural. At the same time he/she has figured out that gambling for living isn't a good choice to make a living for OP. And that playing should be fun. Which is a massive break trough for OP. Usually when we find a life changing solution we want to shout it from rooftops because we think it's going to apply for everyone.

But quitting gambling isn't for everyone, just like gambling is not for everyone, not everyone can just keep it fun. And that's ok. Skydiving or skiing aren't for everyone either, neither everyone can make a living with them.

People should do what they like to do. Getting addicted to gambling is a bad thing but there is absolutely no harm in playing every once in a while. People should quit smoking and drinking alcohol too but some of them do these every day and I don't see them quitting. It is better to be in control rather than quitting something that gives you pleasure completely. Having sex every day and hour is not healthy too but we don't quit it forever do we? The same logic applies here. Gambling occasionally is fine, doing it everyday now that's where it gets dangerous.

There are people who do really love to generalized on things on which on the time that they do saw someone who do play gambling then they would really be having that kind of thinking that a certain individual is already addicted to it which it is really not that right at all. There are people who are really that engaged on gambling because they do really seek for entertainment and leisure on which it would really be that
normal for a human being to find up these kind of things and this is the reason on why we do gamble.

Just some chemical reaction happened in my mind today, I get the point at that moment. Gambling for income is totally wrong and toxic for spirit and body. You will never be successful in that way. But I like gamble is still the fact and it will never change if doing nothing. So, why not open a stream and show it to all people who have interest on that. Congrats! I don't really think you need to quit gambling completely, just take it as a hobby, one that you regularly spend an amount that's completely manageable for you. There are also some people who can't really bear to quit, this doesn't mean that they're addicted imo, simply because they've stuck to it for quite a long time now (there are a lot of people who can gamble responsibly after all). It's the idea that gambling to earn money is wrong anyway, if you do earn money then nice, take it as a side goal, not the main one.

^Good for you and probably because that is the reason why you abuse gambling and become addicted to it.
Surrounding yourself with positive influences and finding alternative activities to engage in can help fill the void that gambling may leave behind.
But you cannot wish everyone the same as you want because they are not addicted to gambling, they gamble as they see they have fun on it, for example in sports betting, watching the match and placing your bets at the same time will make you more have excitement while watching.

It's mind over matter after all. If we will not allow our urges to rule over then we will still be able to control ourselves from too much gambling. Yes, it might be hard for others but it is still curable and controllable as long as we will have strong self-control and self-discipline. It will take a lot of courage for us to get over gambling addiction. We can focus our attention on other things or keep ourselves busy doing other activities just so we will not fall deeper into gambling addiction.
Right from the beginning, we must set a target limit so we'll know when to stop. Chasing our losses is one of the reasons why many of us fall into gambling addiction. We should learn how to control our emotions and don't let them take control of our decisions.

I think you should only quit gambling when it has become an addiction. You have said yourself in the OP that gambling should be only for fun and entertainment. As long as you can keep a strong mindset on that, I don't think it is necessary to quit gambling. Everyone has their own perspective and opinion on this matter. So telling everyone to stop gambling is total BS. Those who would like to gamble, they will still gamble no matter what.

I wouldn't say it's impossible...it can be easier or harder depending on one's character and how much he really wishes to stop gambling. There are people who are determined in their intentions, and when they decide something, that's it.

Honestly in reality It depends on the gambler itself if the gambler want to continue playing in his favorite game then he can not control himself to stop in his addiction. Because the more he want to play or in his mind that game is his only thing he think then for sure he can not stop. It's the same with people like me who bet on sports from time to time. I like MMA and boxing and I sometimes bet to make the game more exciting. I don't do it often, maybe once or twice a month.
My friend buys more beer and snacks, I buy less and use the money to bet. We both have fun our own way.

If you know gambling is only for fun, you don't need to quit because you wouldn't become an addict or ruin your life to gamble most of your money to get profit.

The problem of why people should temporary quit from gambling is when they gamble in order to make more money. But gambling is full of luck and there's a house edge, you will high likely lose and the house will high likely become the winner.

When you gamble responsibly that is gambling for fun betting with amount of money you can afford to lose wouldn't give room for any form of addiction and total reliance on gambling as a source of income is very dangerous because it can ruin and rekt the gambler completely, I think the OP is referring to gambling addicts who had faced or are almost bankrupt due to excessive gambling to quit and have a rest of mind and I believe it is not applicable to us that gamble based on knowledge in the sport, for instance I am a soccer fan and I bet responsibly on soccer matches with a maximum of 3.0  to 4.0 odds while staking with small money, if I win that is fine if I lose I move on and wait for another opportunity.

As popular quote says "there is no late to be better", it applies to gambling addiction as well.
If you say it might be too late to stop once it become an addiction, it sounds like that people do not need to stop in this stage.
Some time people need to experience the worst thing first to notice that what they do is completely wrong but ofc it is always better to avoid the worst case in the first place.
As other popular quote says "it is better to be safe than sorry", so preventing ourselves as much as possible from addiction would be better.
