Calm down! If you are an alcoholic that doesn’t mean every alcohol drink factory should be closed because there people that drinks responsibly and enjoy it. The same thing goes for gambling if you are a heavy and addicted to it that doesn’t necessarily mean everyone should stop gambling and shut down casinos.
Personally I don’t even want to quit gambling as i find it only a way of having fun and spending good time. If you are addicted you need to get some help from advisors or a therapist to fully quit and not ask others to do because simply it’s not the way things work, if something is bad for you it’s not necessarily bad for everyone.

I think the reason for him actually saying so maybe it's because of the fact that majority of people who actually gamble are addicted to the habit. But then also as an addict the first motivation is the zeal to quit and once that zeal is there, any opportunity could result in total avoidance, and when that happens you must make sure to avoid any possible slide back into the hole of addiction again.

Well that's true. It's like forcing someone that isn't willing to change to a rehab center and doing the same thing after getting out of a rehab. It's just wasting resources, money and effort on someone that no plan in doing the right thing for himself. Of course it is so. But if we talking about some common experience - trading needs more special knowledge. You have to know a lot for trading but in gambling you can start fast for casino games the rules are really simple.
And i can`t say that in trading your risks are lower than in gambling. Using money management you can control you budget. I try to lose small sums both but i can`t say that trading has less risks than gambling.

Trading does require more general experience in analyzing and also determining the right position to buy or sell but experience from trading is very useful for everyday life too because we can be more focused, consistent and also patient.
Moreover, in trading there is no risk of addiction and it is different from gambling which has long-term effects of gambling addiction where addiction is very dangerous for anyone who experiences it.
If think that gambling is riskier in all forms of risk, but that is a choice, so no one can forbid it.

For me trading has the same risk of addiction as the gambling. The difference is that in gambling you is just a gamer and in trading use is a serious businessman. But the result is the same and their knowledge the same too. At least for lots of traders i saw it looks to be truth.
Of course if we`ll talk about the true traders - the situation differs, but for common user - it`s the same.

That's the case with a lot of gamblers, they don't gamble to earn profits but they do it to entertain themselves by spending some money from what they earn in a week or in a month, if they win something good, they are happy, but if they lose everything for that specific period, they don't worry much and don't chase their losses because they know it is not worth it and they will lose more if they try to recover their previous losses because they understand how gambling works.

Those who gamble for profits and want to earn money through gambling tend to get addicted to it pretty easily because they can't let go of their losses, so whenever they lose some money, they start trying to recover that loss and in pursuit of that, they lose even more, and then they just can't get out of that cycle.

If it's during an early stage when the person just started gambling and realised that they were getting addicted to it, it can be very easy to just quickly tack on a U turn, but once it gets out of hand, it becomes difficult to stop it, like you said. But that doesn't mean it really can't be stopped; if the person in question really has the intention and the decision to stop gambling compulsively, then they can do it on their own or even seek help on how to stop it. Based on what @Wiwo said, it's true that if a gambler is greedy and sees gambling as the only means of earning money, they might get stuck and addicted more quickly.

Gambling couldn't really be able to ruin up your life as long you are really that wary on what you are doing or the actions you are really taking.
