As far as I know Types of traders:
1. Scalper: it can be done in minutes
2. Day trader: within 1 day
3. Swing trader: can be weekly to monthly

Traders focus on stock price fluctuations. The important thing is there are stock fluctuations/movements. So, technical analysis (patterns & trends in price movements)

Investors: long term. The focus is on company performance. So, the analysis is fundamental.

But I've also read an article, if you buy Bitcoin and hold it, you can say it's an investor. because traders and investors are the same.

Maybe someone below me can answer and give a better explanation.

Anyone that can profit can be considered as a Bitcoin investor. So if you hold it in your wallet for to long that you can make a profit or there is what we call return of investment.

If you spend your bitcoin then you used it as what is was designed by Satoshi in the beginning, as a payment scheme.

Once you’re holding something that at a long period of time would yield profit then you are investing in that entity and you can be called an investor

I don’t get what you mean entirely but if you mean treating bitcoin as a currency then I wouldn’t call that an investment because you are not looking at gaining profit over a long term. This is even the first priority of bitcoin inception in the first place. The only person regarded as an investor is a longer time holders

There is a similar thread where this discussed extensively. I tried to make search but the forum and cloud fare could not allow me.
How about we call it "Bitcoin owner"
Ensure you first have Bitcoin, it is you that will determine if the money you put into bitcoin is for investment. If yes, it's bitcoin investment. If not, name it according to your purpose.

Investing means you are looking to profit from that asset, as long as someone makes a profit from bitcoin, they are an investor. But there are still some people who don't see bitcoin as an investment, they see bitcoin as a currency, a peer-to-peer means of payment, and those who buy bitcoin for the purpose of spending cannot call them investors.

As I said, when you are a holder, a trader, as long as you are looking for profit, you are an investor.

It was defined that investors are the person who allocates their money with the expectation to profit so basically investors are people who buy Bitcoin in the belief that they will profit from it.  Those who buy Bitcoin and spend it may not be considered a Bitcoin investor but rather a Bitcoin user.

Those who spend Bitcoin are called Bitcoin users, they can't be an owner anymore if they buy and spend their Bitcoin since the spending part simply means they are parting with their Bitcoins.

You can be both an active user and an investor at the same time. If you own some amount of BTC, constantly spending and earning or rebuying a part of bit, but also holding some for the future, then you are simultaneously an investor and a user.

Outside of the US, a lot of people store their wealth in the US dollar, because it's more stable than their home currency. But they aren't typically called "USD investors". Technically, the same should be true for those who own BTC, because Bitcoin is a currency. But it's so fast growing that a lot of people buy it for the sake of making quick profits, which is easier to categorize as investing.

For me, it depends on your goal. If your goal is to buy cheap Bitcoins and in the future, you wanna sell them for profit. If you only use Bitcoin in your daily life, without losing or gaining any value, I don't think you are being investor, so hodling Bitcoin could be also referred to as investing.

Everyone has their own way of understanding and explaining things. To me, Bitcoin investors could be considered anyone who has put in something, either their time or wealth, in order to acquire some Bitcoin. Wealth in the aspect of using their money to buy Bitcoin. Their time in the aspect of mining or any other means of acquiring Bitcoin.

You can only be called an investor if your acquired Bitcoin is still stored somewhere. No matter how little the Bitcoin is, there should be at least some of it to represent your investment before one could be called an investor, and if eventually all your holdings have been spent, the person should no longer be considered an investor but will now be referred to as someone who's invested in Bitcoin.

He is investing in Bitcoin when he bought it and use the wallet so for me he could or should be considered as an investor.
As long as you invested on something no matter how big or small it is, it is still an investment so you are already considered as an investor.
And for time frame I don't think that it is really important as I've mention before as long as you invested on it no matter how big or small your investment it or how long it has been it is already an investment so you are already an investor.

Investor is quite vague as a term, especially when you have short, mid and long term investors purchasing BTC for various reasons. Think of the way some people say ”I’m gonna invest in some gold”, does this mean they’re gonna “hodl” forever? It could be until tomorrow or for a decade. They may not even truly believe gold investments are worth the effort on the long run, but they’re shortly investing in it.

Investing doesn’t require belief or long term planning. If you want to invest, you just become an investor by buying BTC.

From a broader point of view, there are several types of investments and they are not always in the form of property values, most of which are for personal gain. There are developers who invest their ideas and time in the maintenance and improvement of the protocol, full node runners who maintain distributed copies of the blockchain ledger. And several other forms of contribution that are not directly visible in the bitcoin ecosystem can also be said to be investment.

When someone has a particular wallet which he spends Bitcoins from can he be considered a Bitcoin investor?

Investors are actually people who have part of the ownership of an asset. they deliberately put and hold the Bitcoin they have in their wallet for a certain time. As long as he owns Bitcoin, he will be an investor.
if you only have a wallet with no Bitcoin ownership in it, then he cannot be called an investor. because there really are people who aim differently in holding Bitcoin in their wallets for a fiat replacement. meaning they own the Bitcoins for the transactions they make. so he is a user, not an investor. even though they both own Bitcoin, we have to look at the goals they built for their ownership.

Investors are people who spend their capital to invest in Bitcoin and hold it a long time. What is considered as a long time?

HODL waves chart gives you many hodl wave bands from 24hours to 10 years +. At Lookintobitcoin.com website, you will have three charts for hodl wave with 1 year, 5 year and 10 year as hodling times.
https://www.lookintobitcoin.com/charts/1-year-hodl-wave/
https://www.lookintobitcoin.com/charts/5-year-hodl-wave/
https://www.lookintobitcoin.com/charts/10-year-hodl-wave/

Investor shows big difference between traders and investors. Investors hold their investment positions for years to decades. It matches with LookintoBitcoin with charts for investors hodl wave 1-year+ and longer.
Quote
Investors vs. Traders
An investor is typically distinct from a trader. An investor puts capital to use for long-term gain, while a trader seeks to generate short-term profits by buying and selling securities over and over again.

Investors typically hold positions for years to decades (also called a "position trader" or "buy and hold investor") while traders generally hold positions for shorter periods. Scalp traders, for example, hold positions for as little as a few seconds. Swing traders, on the other hand, seek positions that are held from several days to several weeks.

I don't consider those people bitcoin investors, they are just pure users as they use bitcoin as a currency to pay their daily bills.
Or does the term investor refer only to those who hodl Bitcoin?
Being an investor means you are looking to profit from bitcoin, and you will be a bitcoin investor when you hold or are a trader. Depending on the purpose of each person's bitcoin, not everyone can be called an investor when they do not see it as an investment. But as far as I can see, most bitcoin holders are investors, because of its volatility it is not suitable for use as currency, so 99% of bitcoin users are investors.

You're an investor if you hold an asset for the purpose of holding(investing), regardless of the amount. That's pretty much it. It doesn't matter if you spend some of your bitcoin or not.

I don't consider those people bitcoin investors, they are just pure users as they use bitcoin as a currency to pay their daily bills.
An investor hodls his bitcoin long time like more than one year but he can have different wallets. Hodl wallets for investment and smaller wallets with small amount of bitcoin to use daily or when needs to use bitcoin for payments. You can not say a person who uses bitcoin as payment method is not a Bitcoin investor.

You can not know which wallet belongs to who and who is he, trader or investor.

If I don't tell you, you will know know what are my Bitcoin wallets, addresses. You don't know how many wallets I have and how I use each wallets for payment or investment.

an investor, they are prepared to do long-term holding. so if someone has bitcoins in their wallet, it actually depends on that person's initial goal, whether he is going to make a long-term investment or will trade. but what is clear is that he wants to make a profit from keeping bitcoins in his wallet, no matter what method he takes, can be short-term trading or long-term trading, as long as he gets profit according to the target, then that person is successful
