Although it can't be used in a specific way, it's the original cryptocurrency among all, which drives crypto market, launches new bull and bear seasons and has thousands of other cryptos following its lead.

If you still want to look for altcoins, I think the best to do is to look which altcoins offer long term benefits to holders. It can be a native token from a business or company, working like an asset, generating extra income for you. Better yet if such benefits are paid in BTC or stablecoin and dollar.

I would rather say that they appeared to solve an existing problem. That is why they were scams or failures in the first place. If someone actually develops a project like that there will be huge influx from the mainstream investor community such that the entire crypto ecosystem would be turned upside down and we small fries would never get a chance to get into it.

Now you know why they never invest in shitcoins, but they do stock their own bitcoin without telling anybody.

Chances are there never will be. But some people have the notion of a "second bitcoin" and that is enough to make them waste money on shitcoins.

well as the time goes the cryptocurrencies will definitely find practical uses thats makes more sense for these institutional investors, its just that the practical use that they are seeking are majority still in development.
there are simply many use of blockchain in general, from being used for immutable certification of things in the government to ticketing that didn't allow duplicates ticket even immutable by the ticker issuer themselves.
its just so many use case that I could think of and most of them are still in development.

My take on diversification is that one must have assets classes of traditional markets along with bitcoin in the crypto section. Doing crypto should not indicate the altcoins that have been launched recently or have been making the news. Its more of the ones who have been in the market for long if I stretch it.

There are bonds, stocks, real estate which are profitable for the long term too, they are here to stay even if bitcoin goes huge. But keep altcoins as limited as possible.

Just dont spend your money on HYIPs and MLM schemes, they are bound to make you lose.
