Beside the obvious fact that you shouldn't trust anyone giving you advices on investing, the answer to your question also depends on various things.

Like why do you want to invest in altcoins? Are you looking for long time investment that's safer to sleep on or are you looking for risky opportunities with moon potential? I mean everything is risky but some are riskier than others.

Are you looking for confidentiality in transactions or full transparency? Are you looking for something you can use in DEXes or store it in CEX:es. Do you want profits from staking? Have you ever done research on any coins or are you just asking for random people random names and be happy with that?

If I were you, I would split the money. At least more than half of what I would invest in Bitcoins, not altcoins. And I will share the rest in several altcoins, such as ETH, BNB, ADA, and Matic. This is my choice because I am not one of those people with high risk taking. But once again this will depend on you, if you are a high risk taker, you can choose several altcoins. but it's a shame that that much money is just for altcoins.

should've made your own research honestly, no point risking such big money just following advice of some stranger which you don't even know if they are giving advice out of their goodwill or just because they have something to shill.
generaly all high ranked coins out there are good enough to invest, but I think if you're looking for some coins that might give quick profit but also risky as well you could maybe try investing in relatively small low market capitalization coin but remember to only invest in these kind of altcoins that are new ones, only recently emerging, but then again investment is all based on your own preferences.

Well I think with the big news for Ripple that we are going to start 'alt season' very soon. So now is a good time for you to invest your $20,000 in some alts that have the chance to make some big profits.

After result of sec law suit loss to XRP, there are alt coins that made big gains. Solana, Cardano, and Polygon all did big profits of double digits yesterday. Ethereum also is now $2,000, I think those are 4 good alt coins to invest in now.

Yes. In this moment for XRP there are lots of people discussing it. if they win, it will give a high sensation, especially for the Hodlers. For the suggestions above, I think the OP might also think about it and I'm sure the decision will still be different. What is certain is that the one chosen is the most secure and not speculative from negative issues either currently in trouble or in the finalization stage of problems such as XRP. If you have the ability to analyze and evaluate then I think with thousands of different cryptocurrencies you can choose for yourself the ones that will help you make profits in the future, I think some advice should be considered. accepted at a reference level because if you don't know about them and only get a referral from someone who has invested, it's very risky. For $20,000 I will allocate 50% to bitcoin and the rest to 45% altcoins and will keep about 5% with stablecoins.
There are some altcoins that I think will increase well in the next cycle such as ENS, YFI, ASTR,... most of them are not in the top100 but I think their growth potential is quite large and will easily be pumped during the cycle. In the next period, especially they are in the areas that in the recent time the market has had great interest.

I don’t want to name any coins here. I would rather suggest you do some research yourself and then only invest in the coins that you think are capable of growing in the near future. 20,000 USD is really a big amount. You can really make a lot of money from it if you invest it properly. So I am suggesting you do some market analysis and then only invest it properly in proper alt-coins. From my personal experience out of $20k I would invest around 60% in Bitcoin and the remaining 40% in other coins.  Expect Bitcoin price to increase in future so in my opinion it is better to invest in Bitcoin and allocate remaining 40% to altcoins like Bnb, ETH, SOL, LTC etc.

From my personal experience, you should invest in btc, eth, bnb, ada, xrp, doge tokens where you can be 100% safe. But you can learn trading as well because there you will get daily profit. You have a lot of money so there is no need to be too busy so settle yourself first.

If you know nothing much of DCAs then you should be engaging with less risk such as big names of this insustry; Ethereum, Bitcoin, Ripple and the likes. Less risk means less market peice volatility and in such way you would be ble to endure sudden price changes because of the hope that big names are having higher chances to recover at any market price crash. Other altcoins would indeed give you higher rate of increase but will also cost you bigger risk. Also with market peice sustainability, new ones would put your investment at risk 'coz those tokens are more volatile basically.

If you don't have a particular choice, spread your money across the top 10 or 20 altcoins you want (or can pick out). Around 5 would probably do, but that's your preference though, you can get more if you thin each one out more after all. I'd also recommend Bitcoin if you haven't already depending on your goal you can either put the majority of your portfolio on it or if you're looking to be risky, I'd make it as a part, but the rest would go to relatively new altcoins (since they give off much more rewards if they succeed, but at the same time the risks are just as much though).

I believe that putting money in xrp is not a good decision, from what I understand this lawsuit is still far from having an end and even after a long battle still in the end the loser will leave xrp and its price will fall, I got to this conclusion reading this news:
