My choice is don't invest in altcoins, invest it all in Bitcoin.

Why? because if you have $20,000 it's mean you're have a good job that pay well and you're trying to make more money without need to work, so the best choice is Bitcoin where the price will increase very high after holding for at least 4 years.

If you invest in altcoins, the chance you will lose your money is high except you always check your portfolio everyday, every hour or even every minute.

If you really have $20k at the moment then it would be better to invest in BTC, Bnb, XRP, and Ethereum. But buy Bitcoin at a greater percentage than other coins. I don't want to drop altcoins that I've invested but some members will do to shill the altcoins that they are promoting as bounty hunters or where they are a part of, instead of asking why not ask about features of altcoins that have the potential to exist long term and eventually make profit, because members will post quick profit or pump and dump coins to you, we are being flooded by these kind of altcoins because its easy to create a coin for pump and dump you will just hire shills and do bounty campaign.
But for a good project with good potential in the market, it will take time before you reap your profit but the profit is recurring and you will be proud that you are one of the early birds, so go for altcoins with potential for long term profit instead of pump dump coin check the market check the website check every feature then decide if these are the coins you're looking DYOR OR do your own research.

$20k is a huge amount to invest in altcoins but it depends on how many tokens you want to invest into, if you make your investments with $1,000 each which I think is a good amount to invest into altcoins that'll make you to invest in 20 project and when you invest into 20 project you have an advantage of making good profits when the bull market comes.
There's no reason why you shouldn't make profit oif you invested into more than 15 projects. You can divide your investment and make sure you invested into different areas of the market starting from Artificial intelligence to other sectors of the market. Artificial intelligence is going to be one of the most trending projects of next bull market.
And if you invest into project focusing on that area, you're going to make good profits. Metaverse is another area we have to pay attention in because many projects are working on their own Metaverse and soon we will have many Metaverse project of high quality. I think that such big sums it is better to invest only in bitcoin or may be ethereum because these are the most stable cryptocurrencies with big communities. Other cryptocurrencies are much more unstable and it is very difficult to predict their growth and how big it will be.

Although with that ratio of investment, I guess that there are very few that owns that much BTC and are now okay to expand their portfolio into altcoins.

Some do want to take a gamble and willing to invest a lot despite the risk that many altcoins bears, they're willing to go all in with such unknown altcoins and that's no turning back.

Here lies 2 mistakes.

1) - This is exactly what those who bought LUNA after the collapse thought, believing that the project is cheap now and if you buy it now, it will bring income. What made you think Solana would grow in the first place?

2) - Holding altcoins for 4 or 5 years is extremely unprofitable because they depreciate very often and reach their peak once in 2-4 years, after that they become 90% cheaper. Do not confuse altcoins with bitcoin, they do not always grow, and very often just tread in the same narrow price corridor.
