Today I noticed a large number of accounts doing some gaming project Neon Link spamming on the forum. I can't call it anything else, it's a real overpopulation of newbie spammers. I have collected a certain number of these accounts here. Maybe the moderators will pay their attention to my thread and take action?

Most of those accounts are old and have been created since 2 years ago; some were just created this month; if not, I could have said they are accounts being controlled and managed by the same person; who knows what their aim is since they are just all newbies and not wearing any signatures, which could require them to post in the gambling section.

To drive traffic to the project which may be a rug pull in the end. The more visibility they give to the project the more the chances of users searching to find out more about them. I think they would not get much of such users here.
They do not need a signature or even a link to attract attention.

That's more likely what I think of those accounts. I also think that  the accounts are own by the same person or managed by people of the same group looking for users to that project. All I can say to OP is to report the posts if it really is spamming or the posts are almost the same to the other posts of other accounts. I don't think those accounts will get banned for spamming unless they plagiarized something and those posts will only get deleted if the mods decided to take action.

I never understood this type of strategy when advertising a project on this forum. for me, it doesn't look good and personally, this type of marketing strategy makes it look like the project is up to no good.

With how people thinks in this forum, they will get the opposite ^{(of the bold part)} and the site will be labeled as suspicious or lately a scam since spamming the forum is not very helpful when promoting a service.

It often happened in the past during the ico season, iirc one of the names "sapien project" did a similar promotion.

They don't care how it looks and what the forum or its members think of it. The goal is crystal clear. They want clients/users visiting and using whatever it is they are advertising. It's interesting that they didn't post any links to the website or service being advertised. They only mention the name. Some users I checked already had their posts deleted, but there are more.

You can report all posts that deal with the project's shilling, and all posts will be destroyed.
This practice was very popular, and it is strange that it is showing up again at a time when people are well aware that all reviews are either bot reviews or just farmer accounts.

I've added it to my keyword spam finder. See loyce.club/badposts/spam.html: in the past 6 weeks, it has been posted 200 times. I'll leave it to you to report the posts (when appropriate)

There have been "projects" that require people to spam the name on Bitcointalk. It's kinda ironic: Bitcointalk allows bounty spammers to get paid for spamming millions of posts on social media, and once in a while someone does it here with much lower numbers.

Thanks for the link. I had a look at that thread. Thread contains a list of ANN topics, which are engaged in spamming to promote their services or coins ( they order from someone or do it themselves). But ANN thread Neon Link I did not find on the forum at all. Is it possible to post such posts there? The Neon Link project doesn't have a topic.

Most of the accounts have been registered in past few days at 2^nd and 3^rd July while others date back to 2022 and they all are newbie account.So they are just doing up the regular spam on forum maybe trying to promote it with these farm accounts but you have done a great job in finding them and report them so adequate action can be taken by moderators.

But ANN thread Neon Link I did not find on the forum at all. Is it possible to post such posts there? The Neon Link project doesn't have a topic.

Sometimes these projects just opt for these techniques like spam posting through newbie accounts instead of having an ANN thread on forum so you might not find it but have you any link to their site? I have not checked myself in such posts if they were posting links to this Neon project or not.

I did not come across a link to this project on the forum. But it is easy to find her on the Internet via Google.

I realized why the spam of this project on the forum has become so active. It turns out that they are now having a sale of NEONLINK project coins. This is how they decided to attract attention to their project so that hamsters rushed to buy their NEONLINK. Dirty PR.

There are some services offered outside the forum to shill the projects on the most active forum like this one. Sometime back we used to have a bumping service where people were hired to bump the ANN thread with some fake discussions. Though this act is a bit different as these accounts are not bumping any ANN but they are more involved in shilling the project while reply to the pots in different threads.

Anyways people never realize that Spamming is not marketing, and it will bring a bad name even to a good project.
Saving money on marketing and spending it on spamming is not a wise choice.

They are targeting the users who do not know how to discern a scam project. Even if just one user falls for their gimmick it would have been successful then.

Scam services just want publicity and will pay to get it through any means.

Yes, this is true. I have come into contact with such a project before, but that project has an ANN thread here on the forum. There was a project I was working on as part of their Telegram Moderators. One of their shilling tasks was for members to comment under their ANN thread, which was here on the forum. There were a lot of Spam posts under that thread; an account was being created just to serve that purpose, and it was really becoming spam. Last I checked the thread, a lot of the posts were already deleted by the moderator, I guess.
 
But there is one thing most shillers don't know about this pattern of shilling, and that thing is that the way a project is promoted says a lot about the project. If they are spamming the project around social media, the project might be seen as a scam. Too much of something turns out to be a scam just by looking at it. They might end up getting a scam tag instead of the attention they are looking for, unless they are just seeking clicks.

I would suggest you remove the link to the site. You are unknowingly participating in the promotion of it. I know that's not the aim, but we now have a thread in Meta where the project name has been mentioned several times and there is now even a link to the website. Even negative press is advertisement.

Even though they are doing that to drag traffic it wouldn't work because this is bitcointalk and not like the other social media platforms that they make use of newbies generated accounts to hype a project advert and review, as at how i believe this forum operates, members don't trust services coming out through most of the newbies accounts because in this regards they were believed to be bounty hunters which often appears in this format.

Don't be too sure that they won't achieve that; in every link dropped anywhere, provided that there are thousands of people going through that post, there will definitely be some people who will click on those links. This forum and its members are very careful when it comes to clicking on some untrusted links, but that's for those who are security conscious, and we can't say the same thing for the innocent newbies who are here; most of them want to click on every little link they come across looking for means and things that will give them fast money.

Because here in the forum, even the bounty hunters themselves don't have any or enough Bitcoins/Ether to buy the shitcoins they are advertising. The other members who would have some funds to buy, in most cases ignore the altcoin boards and are completely aware that most of those shitcoins are not worthy risking their money for. So the best option is to advertise out in social media, where they can easily fish out ignorant newbies to buy their tokens that have no value.
