when you have good control over your gambling. which means you are not too excessive in gambling or you are also not greedy in playing which can spend your money. I don't think your parents would give such a warning.

I'd opt for the inheritance and fuck it. People who do sports betting do it to make money. If you can earn a lot more by not playing, what's the problem? You can take the money and spend your time on other entertaining activities. In sports betting everyone enjoys it when they are doing well, but what about bad streaks?
