My dear, gambling is not a must, people are doing it to either try to earn money or for fun, whichever the case, the offer the guy's father is putting on the table is more responsible and far better than gambling. Therefore, if I were him, I will definitely quit, after all, it's not a must that I gamble, neither is it that I will die if I stop gambling/passion.

This scenario could happen in realtime. Recently in a discussion came across a conversation in which a father have earned more than a million and have only one son.
