Electrum Wallet.dat on mobile phone?

I have a backup wallet.dat files on my flash drive. How can I recover my electrum wallet address using wallet.dat files using mobile phone? My laptop suddenly not turning on and I need to access my Bitcoin.

I don't have the backup seed phrase right now because I left it on my other house which is far away on my current location. I only have wallet.dat files save on my flash drive.

You did not mention your mobile OS. If it's Android, you can try this (Even though I did not do it, found it online), Install Electrum from Playstore or the official website. Go to /data/data/org.electrum.electrum/files/data/wallets in this directory and paste your wallet.dat file and see what happens. Let me know if it works!

Are you sure that file (wallet.dat) is from Electrum though? AFAIK, Bitcoin core is the only wallet that generates the .dat files.

But if you're just referring to the wallet file, then there's is no way to import it and I don't think you could add it to internal storage unless your device is rooted.

As mentioned above by OmegaStarScream, wallet.dat files are for wallets created by bitcoin core.

Anyways, in the case you are talking about a wallet file created by electrum and it's not encrypted, you can open it using a text editor application on your mobile phone and get your seed phrase.
If your wallet file is encrypted, I don't think there's any solution other than opening the wallet using a desktop of version of electrum and export the seed phrase.

I never heard of someone success importing a wallet from Electrum PC to an Android phone.

Have you tried basic things first to check your laptop it might be just the power supply you can replace it with a universal laptop charger.

It won't be safe if you open the wallet on the other PC that you don't own. The safest way is to repair your laptop or remove the hard drive from the laptop before you bring the laptop to a professional technician.

And then next time make a backup of your seed phrase so that you can recover your wallet on an Android device.

The directory is hidden and is only accessible if the Android phone is rooted.

Electrum does not allow for importing of wallet files within the app, IIRC. You have to import the wallet using the seed generated or the private keys that you have.

If your wallet file (which shouldn't be "wallet.dat" unless you renamed it), isn't encrypted, you can just open it with a text editor;
and take note of the master private key (search for "xprv": | then get the master key next to it) which should be written in plain text.
You can import that to your Mobile Electrum via "Standard wallet->Use a master key".

The important note is this wont work if the wallet file or the secrets are encrypted.

From my understanding, OP has already saved the seed phrase. The problem is that's somewhere else and OP doesn't have access to that now.

I tried to create a new wallet on Electrum and found that the wallet files are not encrypted so with a simple text editor OP can access the recovery seeds on any device if he has the wallet file.

But it is not really good to have wallet files without encryption which makes it vulnerable and leads to loss.

Your wallet file isn't encrypted and you can see your seed phrase, because you left the "password" field empty when creating the wallet. It's not that wallet files created by electrum are always unencrypted.
In the case OP has entered a password when creating the wallet, it's not possible to see the seed phrase in the wallet text file.

Take note you can create a wallet from Electrum without encryption enabled, you can encrypt the wallet or just add password protection. It only asks for a password when making transactions unlike an encrypted wallet everytime you open the wallet it will ask for the password.

But even if you uncheck "encrypt wallet file" when entering setting a password, your secrets are still encrypted and there is no way to see your seed phrase and master private key in the wallet text file.
If you want your seed phrase and master private key to be shown in the wallet text file, you must leave the "password" field empty.
