To get 5 BTC but have to stop gambling, I think many people will do it but will they really stop after receiving the 5 BTC or will they still gamble after receiving the 5 BTC?
But it's so tempting to many people that they are willing to stop because if they can keep that 5 BTC long-term, they may make a big profit when the bull run comes.
I think I will also stop gambling and decide to move to a location that does not have a high cost of living so that I can use the 5 BTC well and save or even buy more BTC when the price correction drops deeper.
And I think with those 5 BTC, I can start a new business that can give me profit.

I wish though but this seems very far from reality, not impress. The money sounds good but it is not even upto a million to begin, I'm not a millionaire and it will only help my life for a short term; What happen after that, I will go back to where I crawl out from. However, If I'm giving such kind of money, I will hold and continue my gambling, it should not be used for gambling but I will see it as an investment, taking from it to gamble is like 50:50 and if luck doesn't shine on you, you will lose everything and you will have to go back to square nothing, back to where you started again.

But I thought gambling is a reward for passion, entertainment and fun, why will anyone give you money to stop gambling when I know that it's like I'm depriving myself the little fun I'm used to, why not dash the money for investment maybe with a condition not to use the money to gamble but as an investment, it is not like even when you don't gamble again, the money will be there forever to be able to help you out. If it comes to a stage when they will have to tell me that I needed to quit gambling when giving something, then I need to check myself that something is wrong with me.

A whooping 5 Bitcoin to quit gambling? Definitely I will quit gambling for the rest of my life, infact I will be relieved from doing analysis from one site to another before placing my bet during this period I will have opportunity of relaxing and watching my TV, 5 Bitcoin is a huge capital if invested well it will amount to huge amount of profit in the long run which outweighs whatever amount of money I will earned from gambling including the risk involved, better still I might hodl the 5 Bitcoin in hardware wallet hopefully when the price of Bitcoin hits ATH a massive profit is guaranteed, I am very sure majority of members here will accept this offer.

Generally, based on the activities and goals of people who gamble, besides looking for fun, they also want to multiply money. But when the laughs were it has a great value and I don't think the amount of 5 Bitcoins can not prevent someone to stop gambling. In fact, the more possessions a gambler has, the more he will be pushed to bet bigger. It depends on the level of the gambler who is active or not. If it's just normal gambling with a small nominal and getting 5 Bitcoin, personally I will follow the rules.

Gambling is not a do-or-die affair. It is just a part of entertainment and a little way of adding to my income occasionally. Five Bitcoin is money I cannot reject because of gambling. All through my years of gambling I have not even made up to 1Bitcoin and I might never make much money in my lifetime. I will wholeheartedly quit gambling and maximize the free money. Gambling is fun but there are hundreds of activities that can give more entertainment than gambling especially if you can afford them. The excitement of winning games is great but the money is hard to resist. The only people that can reject this offer are those that have made more money from gambling that is greater than 5Bitcoin, so they believe they can make more than that in the future. Gambling addicts might also find this deal difficult because they can not control themselves. They might even end up losing the money to gambling.

though there is a chance I could win that much or more in gambling, I think it is highly unlikely to happen, so I'd take the 5BTC. As much as I like gambling, that amount of BTC can be life-changing if you use and invest it properly, especially in my country.

pretty sure a lot of members here have already chosen the 5 BTC, they know how that amount of BTC can change their lives for the better if they use it properly.

Sure yes. In fact, holding 5 BTC is a gamble itself isn't it? It's the same thing as taking a risk. It's a win-win situation. I get to stop my gambling then I will get 5 BTC. That was just like an instant passive income. If I put 5BTC as it is appreciating it's value and probably put in a stake, that 5 BTC will compound overtime. Also put together with proper investing skill and management will be better.

Active gamblers will always gamble as long as they have money and have nothing to do with other people giving them something to stop gambling. On the other hand, the 5 bitcoins that you mean from someone else's gift can be used to increase the number of holdings even more. If someone says 5 bitcoins can't match the thrill and fun that comes from gambling, That crazy? This is a huge amount and anyone can buy the fun of by having 5 bitcoins.

If I am given the opportunity to choose and get 5 Bitcoins I think it's better if I hold it and hold it as a long term investment because I know it will have high value in the future, if I really want to give myself vent to gambling and seek pleasure in gambling I should just use fiat currency to gamble from my work I happen to be a small gambler so I don't need to use bitcoin but use fiat currency to gamble.

I know that gambling comes with many risks of losing so losing Bitcoins is very difficult to accept the fact that it will end up being worth a lot in the future, I have experienced deep regret when I threw away my bitcoins for fun a few years ago whereas currently the price is high more than 10x my selling price at the time. very regrettable, that's why I prefer to invest with bitcoin instead of using it for gambling it's best to gamble with small bets using fiat money.

I think everyone will accept this offer since everybody knows that is very hard to win against the house in terms of gambling no matter what your bankroll. I think only those who have a bankroll higher than 5BTC for example is 100BTC bankroll will not accept this offer since they already have enough.

Hmm, 5 Bitcoins are 145,000$ dollars. That is a quite decent sum of money, but nothing so huge to be compared to a jackpot prize, for an example. I doubt gamblers will give up on gambling for this amount of money, since they like to persue higher prizes, especially lottery players. Maybe if we were talking about a sum of BTCs that could make them millionaires on the present moment, then I think many would be satisfied with the proposal, completely staying away from gambling for the rest of their lives (or at least, until spending all the BTCs received and going bankrupt...).

Except the gambler is already a millionaire before been presented with this offer, he or she possibly might reject it as it is an insult to their person and freedom to do whatever they want, 5 bitcoins is probably nothing for the millionaire gambler since he or she might already own even much more bitcoins than than that, and might also have chains of businesses and investments bringing in profits on daily basis, for such a person, I repeat again that 5 bitcoins is probably nothing.

But for a gambler like myself, I will accept that offer and quit gambler for the rest of my life, its not so very difficult to do after all, so why not?, % bitcoin is a lot of money even though its not up to the amount i long to have, having that to begin with is not a bad start at all, so very much, I will accept this offer and say a good bye to gambling cus there is even no guarantee that I will win such amount of money if i continue to gamble my entire life.

Frankly, I do not really like to imagine something that is too far away from the reality.

5btc is a lot. I rarely gamble, so tell me what I got to loose? I would take the 5btc and just retire to El Salvador. I know they'd be glad to have me and my family. Am sure investment there in crypto would pay big.

The reality as clearly spelt out, is better expressed with this old saying that, 'if wishes were horses, beggers would ride them.' Am not sure it perfectly explains this scenario that OP hinted, but it just stresses how this is just a wishful thinking.

Anyone who wants to stop gambling addictions has suffered many fate, and it has not been rewarding in any way, else, the reason why some love it till date, has never ceased to amaze me.

imo there are only two types of gamblers who would refuse those 5 BTC

• people who have good skills in skill gambling games and can generate hundreds of thousands of dollars will definitely not take the 5 BTC.
• people who are already very rich and can make money without having to work like drake definitely won't take the 5 BTC

while i still make money from my hard work then i will take the 5 BTC and leave gambling ^{(even though my goal is to gamble for entertainment but 5 BTC is really good money for me to be able to grow my business lol)}

Absolutely.  Me personally, while I love to gamble, whether that's at a physical location or online, I don't gamble that much.  I've still yet to have ever gone to Las Vegas, and don't go to St Louis very often (closest place to me with legitimate casinos) and I most just sports bet, but I don't bet very high amounts.  If someone offered me what's not around $150,000 worth of bitcoin, I'm hoping all over that offer.

Taking 5 btc to never gamble again sounds like gambling to me. You're betting on the fact that 5BTC will in the next X years be worth more than your potential profit from gambling over the same period of time.

I'd take the money because I believe in bitcoin. 5btc now is a lot of money, enough to buy a house and start your own business. I'll probably never be able to make this much money from gambling.
If we consider the halving and the fact that next year bitcoin will for sure be worth more than it is today, letting this offer pass would be a mistake.

What other pattern of gambling can more favourable and appealing to offering me 5BTC so stop gambling for life. The bitter truth that majority of us gamble for the money not fun and if we are wealthy enough we will never accept gambling as an option to make money when we can invest in numerous projects that can fetch us profit that's not based predominantly on luck like gambling. So OP, YES I will take the 5BTC and gladly walk away from anything related to gambling. I can get fun from other pleasurable activities with my money.
