What will you do if something like this is happening around you? Why would a drug dealer want to learn Bitcoin if not for a safer haven for running the business?
If you believe that by teaching him how to use bitcoin, it will help him overcome his busniess and start a new life as a better person, then sure but if you fear that he might use it to improve his drug dealing business, I would advise against it.  I mean It won't be that good to just use bitcoin for a way of payment of selling drugs, you just think what's the best for you and for him i guess:)

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

If you are aware that your neighbor living next door is into drug dealing and he come seek your advice how to buy Bitcoin, will you teach him?

What comes straight to mind is embezzling the ill-gotten money, but is this even safe? My other neighbor knows I am into Bitcoin and he learned from me, I guess that's how this other neighbor knew, I told him to go meet the next neighbor but he said he is not ready to teach.

What will you do if something like this is happening around you? Why would a drug dealer want to learn Bitcoin if not for a safer haven for running the business?

My mind isn't settled as I keep thinking different things, what is on your mind readers?
Don’t complicate things. Teach if you know you’re capable on it and if you think the learner is passionate enough to learn. Regardless on what to do on his learnings, maybe that’s his personal concern. Besides, I don’t think being a drug dealer has something to do with learning how to invest, maybe he just needs another profitable investment that he can expect for his retirement. And bitcoin will perfectly suit for it. So just teach him if you think that will help him in the future.

If you are aware that your neighbor living next door is into drug dealing and he come seek your advice how to buy Bitcoin, will you teach him?
No. Despite that you want to get some friends with them, I don't want to be associated with them.

What comes straight to mind is embezzling the ill-gotten money, but is this even safe? My other neighbor knows I am into Bitcoin and he learned from me, I guess that's how this other neighbor knew, I told him to go meet the next neighbor but he said he is not ready to teach.
Anything that seems to be an illegal act isn't safe at all. And that's why if you want to protect yourself and your family, you'll not get close to them. Possible that neighbor told the drug guy that you're into Bitcoin but are you not that scared at all?

What will you do if something like this is happening around you?
If it's already there and he already knew that you're into Bitcoin, choose what you're going to answer wisely. He may ask some favor to you because the idea that a person that has Bitcoin could make them think you've got a lot of money and from there, you might get the fear of what I am saying.

Why would a drug dealer want to learn Bitcoin if not for a safer haven for running the business?
We don't know, anything is of possibility.

My mind isn't settled as I keep thinking different things, what is on your mind readers?
Do not stress your mind that much and think of any possibility that could happen. Your neighborhood is dangerous IMHO and even you've been there for years, you don't know what's on the mind of people.

The fact that he is a drug dealer, he can use Bitcoin as an alternative to fiat when he is transacting. But I don't want to judge, he might have other purpose for wanting to learn how to buy and use Bitcoin.

Anyway, to answer the question, since I know what he is up to, I don't want to be the one to teach him even we're neighbors. Drug dealing is a criminal act and has a heavy punishment here. So associating myself to this neighbor is not a good idea.

I am willing to teach everyone that is interested in bitcoin no matter what are their plans (but of course will never tell anything about my funds and similar thing)  we are blessed to tell someone about how good crypto is so why deny that fact?
and you are just over thinking as there are other plans that may vary about his interest in bitcoin.
don't have second thought mate, teach the man but never engage in something about drugs or expose your self being with Him because that might lead you to other suspicion .

Yes, i will teach him how to buy Bitcoin so that he will grow financially and materially like the way other decentralized investors are growing in the society, and I believe he will never forget me for the Bitcoin impact I have impacted him.  I think, such people know how to quit their main business and join Bitcoin investment that is safe and profitable when you buy at the right time and sell at the right time in the market.  Drug dealers are not bad people when it comes to business, because they know how to invest their money in a particular project that will bring profits at the end of their investment which they will definitely pay attention to learn Bitcoin.

Why am I living next to a person who is connected with drugs, and why I havent done anything yet to stop that or change that situation - that will be my first thoughts about such situation. My other thoughts will be - why someone knows I am into Bitcoin. I would better keep that in secret. I would not teach such person anything about Bitcoin, as I dont know how things gonna go in future. Who knows what he will tell when he will be arrested. From a merry teacher I can quickly be turned into partner in crime.

Do you mean OP should move house and stay away from neighbors like that? But how to avoid it all when everyone has their own secret? What guarantees that OP's new neighbor won't be a drug dealer but a murderer? As long as we keep our distance from them, we will be safe with them, no need to stress because we won't know all their secrets until they are revealed. But I agree with you as well as many of the previous comments, OP should find a way to decline the offer to teach bitcoin to the other neighbor. It is still best to keep a certain distance from people who have illegal jobs.

There are no guarantee that new neighbors are not going to be drug dealers or worse, but living next to a drug dealer a do nothing about is wrong. Make an anonymous call and let police check him and his flat or house. OP dont need to move immediately, but he must first do something about that criminal element, instead of thinking should he teach him or not. My advice is either tell police about his activity, or ignore completely.

Criminals will not be stupid enough to hide drugs in the house or carry them with them at all times, so if OP doesn't have any proof and calling the police won't help either. I really find this solution unsafe at all unless OP has concrete evidence and is sure that the other drug dealer will be caught as soon as OP calls the police. Otherwise, the OP will be in jeopardy with his actions. I will agree with your 2nd solution, OP should ignore it entirely and continue living a normal life as before.

I don’t see any reason at all why you shouldn’t teach the pros and cons of cryptocurrency or bitcoin like you put it to someone who has the zeal and is willing to learn. It doesn’t matter if it’s about the said person using it for his underground lifestyle or not, that still isn’t going to make him not continue in the drug trade but, it could be a reason for him to stop.

I don’t know of any drug dealer that is very excited about the trade. Of course the money comes but the things they have to handle as per security issues, rival wars and the safety of there family is something they have to look out for and when it happens that they find this new means of investing and even making a good enough fortune, it could serve a reason as to why they have to quit the trade.

If his intention is to learn about Bitcoin and not deal in drugs then yes! I will try to explain as much as possible about Bitcoin to them.

What comes straight to mind is embezzling the ill-gotten money, but is this even safe? My other neighbor knows I am into Bitcoin and he learned from me, I guess that's how this other neighbor knew, I told him to go meet the next neighbor but he said he is not ready to teach.

If embezzling money isn't your making then you shouldn't be afraid about it.
He most likely knew about your knowledge of Bitcoin from other neighbors.

My advice would be to let them know about this forum and how to create posts here rest he can do on his own so you don't have to put your leg into the mud (if that's what you're worried about)

OP, I have one question to ask: are you the only one who knows about Bitcoin in your place of residence? If you don't teach him or her about Bitcoin like he demanded, he will probably learn from another person. I wouldn't say what I would do if it were my situation. But if you don't want to teach him about Bitcoin, just tell him he should learn about Bitcoin elsewhere; let him know there are a lot of places to learn about Bitcoin. Perhaps you can't even tell if he needs Bitcoin to clear his money; he probably has been doing business for a long time, and all the while he didn't know about Bitcoin. Does that mean he wasn't clearing his money?

I believe the major challenge OP is facing in teaching his neighbour about Bitcoin is the fact that he is aware his neighbour deals on drugs which is very dangerous. So he is trying to stay clear off anything that would link him to his neighbour or eventually anything happens that his neighbour is caught. Not only that, being caught in the act is something that would make it obvious that Bitcoin is used to carry out illegal and illicit transaction thereby justifying the allegations of Bitcoin being used for Drug trafficking. This is likely the reason OP doesn't want to teach his neighbour.

This could become a very sensitive issue... since if the law catches your neighbor, you could be blamed as an accomplice or as a safeguard of information, the fact of teaching people to use Bitcoin seems to me a great practice, since it is It is important that society learn about bitcoin, but regarding teaching a drug dealer, clearly as you say, he is looking to learn about Bitcoin, because he is interested in using it to hide or launder illegally obtained money. In such circumstances, it would be inappropriate and potentially illegal to assist them in that search… My advice really would be that if you feel uncomfortable or concerned about the situation, it is best to trust your instincts and consider seeking legal advice or reporting your concerns to the relevant authorities, Because if you were to refuse to teach him, you don't know how your neighbor might react... it's better to be prepared and safe.

Of course the money comes but the things they have to handle as per security issues, rival wars and the safety of there family is something they have to look out for and when it happens that they find this new means of investing and even making a good enough fortune, it could serve a reason as to why they have to quit the trade.

I don't think what you're saying is what the OP is thinking. What the OP is worried about is that if he teaches bitcoin to that neighbor, it means he has a close relationship with drug criminals, and if that neighbor is arrested for drug trafficking. Bad things are bound to happen to the OP. If it were me, I wouldn't care what they used bitcoin for but teaching bitcoin to criminals could make me an accomplice and possibly jail, so I wouldn't do that. I need to protect my own safety before thinking about helping others.

My mind isn't settled as I keep thinking different things, what is on your mind readers?
I don’t see any reason at all why you shouldn’t teach the pros and cons of cryptocurrency or bitcoin like you put it to someone who has the zeal and is willing to learn. It doesn’t matter if it’s about the said person using it for his underground lifestyle or not, that still isn’t going to make him not continue in the drug trade but, it could be a reason for him to stop.

I don’t know of any drug dealer that is very excited about the trade. Absolutely these were the reasons OP brought this topic here for discussion. Possibly OP is confused as maybe this neighbour of his might be a long time neighbour and has possibly maybe they must have had good times but getting involved in in anything of that nature that has to do with financial dealing is what OP is trying to avoid because if anything happens OP might be mentioned as his tutor and knowing fully well that he is into drugs might put OP on partner at crime charges hence OPs cries for advice here.

You should probably make some excuse and avoid the situation if you know it can become a problem for you in the future, or you can just tell him to simply Google about it or show him the link to Whitepaper, but he can only do his own research if he is literate and knows how technology basically works, otherwise, he will simply say that he doesn't know how to use a mobile phone, so he can't do it himself and you should help him with the research and learning.

The most obvious way would be to say the truth, tell him that most governments don't see Bitcoin as a good thing and they believe it is a criminal's currency, so if things don't work out for him and he gets in trouble, you also might get in trouble with him, and that's the reason why you feel this way. Or maybe ask him if what he want to use Bitcoin for first.

If I have a neighbour like the one described by the OP that person is not getting any crypto education or assistance from me in whatever manner. Teaching him about Bitcoin it's like aiding and abetting or whatever crime that knowledge will be used for. For example teaching your neighbor about crypto once they they learn it and discover like mixing services you never can tell what the bitcoins in their custody that gets to them.

Let them learn about Bitcoin from some place.

actually, you are in a completely wrong position, on the one hand you want to be a good citizen, on the other hand you want to teach bitcoin to other people, but if i were you, i would not teach that person the basics about bitcoin and how to do it he transacted with bitcoin because it was certain that when he was caught by the police, the police would also chase me because they thought it was a gang of drug dealers.  bitcoin was not created for crime, but to improve the world's financial system.

actually it would be difficult if he was our neighbor or maybe even he was our old friend. between wanting to help him change his life and at the same time OP definitely feels threatened because of his neighbor's involvement in the drug trade.
yes you are right the OP better refuse to teach with any plausible reason and ignore the neighbor regardless he looks good or maybe he is his old friend. becoming close to people who are involved in drug trafficking is highly not recommended because one day they may drag us to bear the risk of being involved with drugs.
it's better to be vigilant than to regret it if we get dragged into a drug case.

Bitcoin is just an asset and what it is used for is up to each person, we cannot prevent anyone from using it for their criminal purposes. Fiat or bitcoin or any other tool is not made for criminals, all those mistakes are human behavior. Yes, OP should have turned down that offer, it's not because OP's neighbor is a criminal that he doesn't have the right to use bitcoins. It concerns OP's safety, so please reject immediately without thinking.

My short answer: NO!

You should not teach him about something like that or even get involved with him as you said he is onto drug dealings. He will probably do illegal things. I understand you know a lot about bitcoin/crypto stuff but are you a teacher? Just directly reject him and say you are busy.

And if he is so eager to learn about bitcoin, there are more qualified persons (google,YouTube, WhitePapers) to teach him. You can get tons of knowledge from them. There is even bitcoin talk.

So buddy my opinion just ignore him. Cause maybe not today not tomorrow but in the future he may use crypto for running his illegal business. Hope it clears the confusions.
