So, to drink (alcohol,   ) or to buy Bitcoin???

It is not only alcoholics that have a habit that takes money that can be used for buying bitcoins away, other people without a drinking habit still have other habits that they spend money on and need to correct. If you are an individual that has any of these money consuming habits, calculate how much you spend on your habit and how much you can actually be investing if you had a better habit. Having an estimate of the money that you will waste on habits can help you to make better decision for the money you have to avoid spending up to what you have estimated your habit to consume.

Ah .... I also think it at first.
So it's not only about buying alcohol but several types of drinks outside.
Actually, I should and ideally prefer to raise money to invest in Bitcoin. But in fact, I often buy bottled drinks or some cold sweet drinks with various flavors. Usually, it costs $1 in my country for a drink and I do about 2 times a week. It's not alcohol but drinking is really refreshing haha
I certainly don't want to compare drinking to buying Bitcoin. So, I must have good money management for this and other things to spend.
However, I think it's not a problem to spend a little money to buy this drink, it's just that maybe the intensity should be reduced, at least once a week the maximum. Because after all, this type of drink is not only a waste of my money but also actually not very good for health and body condition, because of the high sugar content in it.

In short, your favorite usual drink, no it doesn't really have to be an alcoholic beverage!!!, its price, and how many of them you have to forget and leave in the shop before check-out till you save for one BTC.

There is no one who can entirely refrain from drinking, whether it is alcoholic, non-alcoholic, or soft drinks, but there are those who drink excessively to the point of immoderate consumption; the abuse of alcoholic beverages can cause addiction, which the alcoholic cannot stop drinking even if it causes him health problems, and he can sell at a loss his investments in Bitcoin in order to buy and drink it.

Me, I do not prefer any drinks that make me addicted to them, and I prefer to buy and drink green tea, but in moderation throughout the day to improve and stimulate brain activity and memory and provide me with the vigilance I need in my trading. I can consume +5,000 packages of 20 bags (one package can let me drink more than 16 cups for more than a week) In order for me to reach the price of 1 BTC.

We can moderately drink healthy drinks that do not harm our health and buy our coins and invest in bitcoins with money in excess of our needs and our drinking, and if we can reduce the amount of our drinking, here comes the savings through which we can invest this money in Bitcoin.

Welp. Never been much of a drinker myself but when my friends and I used to go drinking in our old bootcamp days, we'd buy this specific type of brandy which if I'm not mistaken is around $3.50  per bottle:



We only ever drink once or twice a month, sometimes we don't even go drinking unless there's an occasion like a birthday or anniversary. As for other drinks, I usually go for Starbucks coffee on a daily basis which is more or less around 2 dollars from where I live. and with the current state of bitcoin this all adds up to:

Coffee: 14,658.5 cups
Brandy: 9,772.3 bottles

That's basically how much of these I'd need to collect to come up with 1 BTC's worth of bottles of brandy and cups of coffee,

spend your money on, and what to eliminate or cut back on in order to reallocate that

I spend about €18 per month on beer, thats a crate of 12 bottles. At Bitcoins current market

or, each bottle is €1.50 so in order to buy Bitcoin now I would have to not drink 17,733 bottles.

I don't think the problem here is on any particular drink, but simply to limit some wasteful habits to invest in, as in a topic that has appeared before the problem is to give up smoking to buy bitcoin
I quit smoking and buy Bitcoin every week there are some ideas that I've come across that are also very interesting, for someone who regularly uses beer as a daily beverage it's hard to warn them that it's dangerous to their own lives, only when health problems or morale decrease can people become aware of bad behaviors in life that bring waste.

What is real savings? There are many different concepts about them, but I find the problem is that as long as we use things usefully for ourselves as well as for the people around us, so there is no need to be too strict about privacy. That makes us uncomfortable, other people can't save yet, it won't affect our saving.

I was about to do this but it seems you got to it first, my choice of poison is 500 ml Red Horse though which would make me give up 25,587 since it's around 68 PHP here and at the time that I calculated this, bitcoin's price is around 29,353 USD. When you look at this number, you always think back of the time that you've bought yourself or contributed to the money pool that you're mates created to buy more alcoholic beverages and make yourself regret doing that instead of investing those alcohol money even though it's a nonsensical thing to do.

I'm not as fond of the alcohol as @Darker45 is, so if I were given the same choice, I would probably choose to give up that 25k bottles of Red Horse to get my hands on 1 bitcoin. I wouldn't agree with non-alcohol life is a tragic life thouugh, maybe a bit unbearable but not a tragic one imo.

There are certain things that you cannot sacrifice in life and that is some kind of liquid that feeds the body and soul. So, I will much rather go with less food, than drinking less of that substance that makes life more fun.

It is part of my life to come back from a hard day of work and to pour a glass of wine or open a Beer and then to relax in front of the TV or computer to watch my favorite Movie or Series and to gamble. 

So I will rather eat less vegetables to safe some money for my next Bitcoin.

Last time, it was discounted for €5.99. That means I can get 4446 bottles for 1BTC. I may be able to get a bulk discount, but I'd also need to get a truck, and since I buy them in Germany and alcohol imports aren't taxed as long as it is for your own consumption, I may have some explaining to do too

Let's face it: this is never going to save me a whole Bitcoin! I will never be able to finish 4446 bottles of 38% 0.7l Ouzo in my life. It would kill me long before I finish the last one, but at least I'd be able to say it's enough to give me a terrible headache for the rest of my life.

Come to think of it: when Bitcoin was worth €59.000, my Ouzo was even cheaper! I could have bought 10746 bottles back then, and resell them for 2.4BTC now. I've been going at this all wrong

I am not the soft drink or carbonated drink fan. Due to the fear of certain health condition like diabetes we all in my house have restrained ourselves from taking carbonated drinks. But, whenever we want to have a drink we always go for yoghurt.

If it's for the whole family we always purchase Hollandia yoghurt which cost around 1.12$ but it's not something we purchase often.

For individual consumption, we always go for Nutri-Yo which cost around 0.29$ and like I said before I'm not a fan of soft drink but if I'm ever to purchase any for my consumption this is the one I go for. And I'll have to refuse a  total of 101,221 bottles if I'm to get a Bitcoin with my yoghurt money.

I don't like fizzy and alcoholic drinks. But I'm a total coffee addict. However recently or in the past few months I have restricted myself from drinking too much coffee. I used to drink almost 5 cups of coffee every day. But right now I only drink about 3 glasses because I'm saving money and taking care of my body's health. namely 1 glass before work, 1 glass during work breaks, and 1 glass after work while doing online activities.

The price I have to pay for 1 cup of coffee is $ 0.2 . which means 150000 cups of coffee per 1 BTC (BTC Price = $30000) .

In this case I can not leave the coffee drink. because it also helps me stay focused on work. And I have to make more money working. So sorry your BTC lost by coffee. hahahaha but don't worry because the money that DCA makes is for you, O BTC. 50000 glasses = 50000 days = 139 years. DCA which is quite old.

Well I suppose it depends on a persons circumstances, personally I am always sacrificing
and compromising because my income doesnt allow for everything I want or to do.

Maybe we could look at it in terms of Sacrificing now to buy Bitcoin which is essentially
delaying gratification!?

What an interesting idea, exchanging beer for Bitcoin. Just think of the stories we could tell our grandchildren about how we sacrificed the finer things in life in order to acquire our Bitcoin fortunes.

When it comes down to it, I'm just a plain old guy. For two dollars and fifty cents, I can get a good old fashioned Americano. To save up for a Bitcoin, I would have to forego a whooping 26,000 cups of coffee. But hey, I shouldn't need any coffee if the excitement of following Bitcoin's value keeps me on my toes.

I really love to start my morning with a cup of coffee and a particular soft drink, either during the daytime or for dinner. So, a Cup of the mixed coffee every morning and a can of Schweppes either in the daytime or in the evening would cost me about $1.8 every day. $0.3 for coffee and $1.5 for the soft drink. I will have to let go of 18,000 cans and 10,000 sachets of mixed coffee in order to buy one Bitcoin.

I don't think it's very possible to let go of the two, but rather I can discipline myself to make sure I am Investing more than usual so I can be able to archive 1 Bitcoin even in a shorter period of time than it might take me if I only decide to save $1.8 every day.

Hm... I normally drink my tea daily, but it's not like I buy a pack of tea every day, and I'm not the type of person to buy drinks in a café or elsewhere regularly. A 100g pack of black tea (I choose Ahmad tea, Monomax, sometimes Lovare) costs around 100 UAH (EUR 2.5) in Ukraine, and it's enough for around half a month. The current price of BTC is EUR 26,565. That means I would take 10,626 packs of tea to save up for 1 BTC (at a current price, not adjusted to inflation and without accounting for the potential growth of BTC price). Since I need around 2 packs per month, it means being 5,313 months without black tea or 442 years
