Bitcoin peers connection = 0? How to download blockchain?

Hello.
I am a Bitcoin Vet from 2010.
I know a lot.
Recently getting back to bitcoin...
I am trying to download the blockchain from scratch to a new, clean computer.  (Mac)

It has been over 7 days.. I am only at 73%.
It says 14 weeks remaining.
ZERO peers.
Randomly I sometimes get ONE... IPv4

Is this because of the new IP address change to the internet?

How can I get more than 1 peer, or more than zero?
10 was the default limit.

I am lucky to get just one.
Can anyone help?  $$?

It looks like there is something that blocks these peers to connect to your Bitcoin core.

You can share the debug.log here so that we can check what the cause of this issue.

Would you mind trying to disable your router's firewall and test it again?

If didn't work try to delete peers.dat but make sure to close Bitcoin core first and rerun it once the peers.dat is gone.

If not, you can remove any bind config/arg to sync using the default connection settings.

Are you running any antivirus or are you behind any firewall? Try disabling those. If the connections are established just fine and then disconnecting, it is highly unlikely that your peers or the software is the problem.

It's more likely that your firewall is intentionally disconnecting them after a period of time and thus blacklisting them. Is there anything in the debug log that specifies any disconnection?

Since you're using bitcoin-qt, have you changed any of the network options such as connecting through a proxy (pretty sure it logs that so probably not)? Can you also try unchecking the options for "Map port using UPnP" and "Map port using NAT-PMP", those are clearly not working and maybe somehow those packets are confusing a firewall somewhere (although they should be entirely benign).

Let's see if network debugging tells us anything useful. Go to Window > Console and type (or copy) into the box at the bottom:

This will turn on the debug logging of network information so the debug.log can become quite large. Let that run for a bit to get some messages in there. Then post that part of the debug.log.

In general, this seems like some issue with your internet connectivity. It could be that a firewall somewhere is detecting and blocking connections to/from bitcoin nodes. This could be on your local network or even on your ISP, depending on how you get your internet. The fact that you get a response from the DNS seeders, but are unable to make a connection to any of those nodes (indicated by the timeout message) means that something is just blocking the connections. The DNS seeders are active crawlers and the nodes that they return are generally tested to have high uptimes so it would be extremely odd if they were giving out nodes that no one could connect to.

Have you tried manually adding nodes from the Console (click Window > Console)?

Nodes added using addnode (or -connect) are protected from DoS disconnection and are not required to be
full nodes/support SegWit as other outbound peers are (though such peers will not be synced from).
