To steal funds from people you should have technical knowledge and find an innovative way that sounds genuine or they are not even aware about it that it's a pure scam attempt which is what they have been doing it from a long time.We come across many cases where we see new ways of scamming and hacking and they also know how to bypass the tracing like if exchanges also block their address.

So this is why it's always suggested that you also be updated with latest technical knowledge to safeguard your funds from them or even better if you store them on airrgapped devices that are not connected to internet. You can use dummy address on which you can have minimal funds you need in case of usage so if anyone gain access to it they don't steal all from you but your security depends on you as hackers are always smart to come up with better ideas.

You are right. The only way to be one step ahead of the scammer is be updated about latest technical advancement of the industry. Using a offline devices can add an extra layer of protection from the scammer. Furthermore everyone should change their account password in a regular basis and always keep their 2FA on to enhance their security against any potential threats.

Crypto space fast-paced technological innovation to bring simplicity and add more security to human life. So scammers are also finding new ways to scam people. Do not fall for the same kind of trap if you are a moderator in any crypto project. You might lose your server and job as well.

These people are well organized they are trained to communicate effectively they have a ready script for this, and they work as a group, our authorities have busted a lot of scammer groups they are housed in a building and they have admins on the groups and they are fully equipt and they know who to target people.

They have ads everywhere we don't know but they might infiltrate our community, but on social media especially on Telegram they are more active we have to educate ourselves on how to fully secure our environment and moderate our greed they target our emotions so if you are profit driven you are a likely target.

i was still connected with that guy in voice call and he was constantly pushing me to do the work fast.

This is a line for all those who want to avoid being scammed should look at. A scammer will always give you something to suspect them with. They will urge you to go fast in whatever they want to play you on because they know a smart person may discover or sniff something when they go slow. So be watchful when dealing with some guy online and he is asking you to jump right in fast and start riding with them. I think they are either going away from asking for money first but to offer it and then want to work their way through getting you to it.

The cryptospace cyberspace is full of scammers constantly looking for targets to take advantage of, it's great to see OP survived this one, But how certain are you that this script you discovered has been cleaned out of your system?? And is a normal anti-virus scan able to detect such or perhaps an anti-virus like malwarebytes can do the cleaning??

Agreed,  I have watched several YouTube videos of guys trying to scam others ,and one thing I have noticed is that they put you under pressure so that you don't think straight and will do as told...before your senses are back the damage is done.

It's not easy to be smarter than those guys. They will always perfect their scam before bringing it out to people. That is why we need to be extra careful when dealing with any online investment.

Online is a place where scammers are always trying to get scammed.  So every thing online has to be kept very secure.  Always try to be careful while dealing with strangers. Scammers are always using new ways of scamming and hacking and attracting people.  So one needs to update with latest technological knowledge to keep one's funds safe.  And to refrain from sharing your access with strangers. Anyway, you had a good forehead when you realized that people tried to hack your account into a Discord server and try to scam you by posting fake airdrop promotions.

This constant rushing is quite common among scammers, which should have been a warning sign, but honestly, the nature of this particular scam isn't alarming you. Scammers are constantly flooding discord groups, posing as channel moderators or project developers. Setting up this whole story to gain access to the OP's account isn't the first thing that comes to mind. I honestly wouldn't have suspected it, and probably the majority of us here wouldn't either. I don't see a valid reason to attempt such a scam, apart from being a little more persuasive, since he'd be posing as someone who's already known in the community.

You can take it to the bank, it is just a sure prove that you have to look out for and get alerted when in such situation. A scammer must try to make you do whatever he is asking you to do very fast because if you take your time then you are likely to get what trick he wants to play on you and this is common with online scammers. So no matter how smart a scammer is, you are likely to distort his game when you slow him down.

Agreed,  I have watched several YouTube videos of guys trying to scam others ,and one thing I have noticed is that they put you under pressure so that you don't think straight and will do as told...before your senses are back the damage is done.

That is the trick. Put pressure on the victim and make him act fast and before you know it, you are already losing out and can't retrieve the mistake made. Most times the pressure appears to you like if you don't provide information sort for, you will be losing out on the business deal. Those are just the trick, take your time because a genuine business transactions wants you to take your time, think over it and be careful not to make mistakes so that the business will go through. If they are forcing you or pressure and threat then becareful on it.

That’s entirely new to me, not the attempt but the technique at play. Anyone with a mindset for huge pay and a fast securing of opportunity might fall for this kind of scam. They play the fast game of holding you on the phone so you don’t have the time to do any form of evaluation on them and with the fact that your been deceived to be speaking with an authority or a well positioned person, time becomes of the essence but hey,
You’re sort out for because of the values you provide and as such, you show your quality as well by going through the details and the organization giving you some time to do this doesn’t hurt.

When it’s speedy, you question the process. It might save you from any rushed attempt.
Thanks for sharing as this needed some exposure.

Yeah it was new to me as well. But after seeing that weird form my sense told me not to submit that form. The way they took my interview was amazing. They behave like a pro and their accent was like some native english's speaker. After seeing their skill i understand it is not easy to be a scammer as well though i do not have any wish to be one of them.

No matter the nature of the work security is supposed to be taken seriously, one thing have noticed with things about security is that any were there is money scams are always not far from It, and they keep creating new strategies of taking advantage of people, from your brothers experience they don only ask for money again but documents of such value, and they will try anything possible just to earn trust, scammers are taking over telegram that's how I got a message from an unknown user telling me he got a slot to win a game, did not even ask questions immediately blocked the user, we need to be careful some people are careless to even send there nude, blackmail is real we all should be careful out there so we don't become victims of scammers.

Yeah, you are right; scammers and hackers are operating almost everywhere they think they can benefit. About two years ago, my Facebook account got hacked without my notice. I woke up the next morning and realised that my account had been hacked, so I checked my email, and there was a message from Facebook telling me that my password had been changed and that if I was not the one who performed the action, I should click on block to lock the account, which I did. Later that day, I tried to regain access to my account and passed some questions from Facebook about people I knew and communicated with on my account. I answered all the questions correctly, and they asked me to wait for two days, which I did, and after that, my account was recovered. But what happened was that the hackers sent several message to some of my relatives, asking them to send money to an account number, which some people complied with. So, it's just wise for people to take their security very seriously.

I'm really happy that you shared an information like this ... Alot of peeps have been complaining about cyber theft and insecurity - TBH, there's no way I won't identify a scam by just having it insight...no way!!
Sometimes, people are so gullible that they tend to believe anything on the net; so a strange person that you ain't even known from anywhere is introducing a way to make some few bucks or maybe a means to have a share in the BTC mining pool, and you admit such an offer?? Have you ever seen anyone being begged and pampered to make money for themselves?? I mean, nobody needs to tell you to not give in for this minor scams, talk more of the major ones.
P/s:These guys have really adopted professionalism; I just wish peeps would really treat this as important - cus as long as you're not informed, you can fall for it.

Unlike what people think, scammers are smart and it takes smartness to be able to rip another person. For you to be scammed, the scammer should be saying something connected in order to convince you and that takes learning and research to be able to stay afresh in the happenings in the society.
The cryptocurrency industry is relatively new and that is why newbies fell for some early scams. People are wiser and the scam dictionary is almost exhausted. This is why a scammer at this stage of the cryptocurrency growth must be more than wise and intelligent to be able to device means such as explained in OP.

I haven't used Discord, but a similar situation happened to me on Telegram. They sent me a link to fill a form, but being cautious about scams, I didn't fall for it and blocked them directly. If they wanted to work with me, they could have simply asked questions on Telegram and made payments to start the work. It's essential for users to learn from your post, as scammers are constantly finding new ways to deceive us.

Ohh this is very deceiving and definitely suspicious at the same time! The fact that scammers can prepare such task just to scam one person means that they are indeed very motivated to introduce more and more ways in order to gain an opportunity to get those funds.

As someone who have been scammed in the past, it is very important and essential for you to doubt everything. Anything that can be accessed in the internet is prone to scam due to its circumstances and nature- expect these scammers to introduce more ways in the future.

Remember that prevention is better than cure- it is thousands better to prevent yourself in putting in those kinds of situations. With that being said, thank you very much OP for sharing your experience as this will definitely inform everyone about this very deceiving act.

.....When i drag that button i have noticed there is a script written in there. In the meanwhile, i was still connected with that guy in voice call and he was constantly pushing me to do the work fast. I disconnected from that call and delete cookies from my browser. After some investigation, i found out that there was a javascript written in there which will give that scammer access to my browser and my discord account. Furthermore i found out they are a group of people who hack Moderators account into a discord server and post fake airdrop promotion to scam people. ....
So, they are using such kind of phishing link.
Well, actually, phishing links have been common. However, this method is really creative, scammers don't lose their heads to get their potential victims. Almost, it could be that when you actually successfully submit and do as directed, you will lose some assets in your browser or device. You're still very lucky, and I'm sure it's not pure luck, but also a bit of precision that you still have at the end.
Just imagine if it is a person who is not too careful, then he has become a victim of this phishing site.

Before this incident i tried to figure out how so many discord server been hacked recently and phishing airdrop been shared where people lost a lot of money. Now i know how most of them been hacked. A server admin should give limited power to their moderator so that even one of them been hacked their won't be any problem.

Crypto space fast-paced technological innovation to bring simplicity and add more security to human life. So scammers are also finding new ways to scam people. Do not fall for the same kind of trap if you are a moderator in any crypto project. You might lose your server and job as well.
It's very common to happen in crypto space because scammers will target you obviously when they have self-interests. I fell surprised by seeing their efforts and laugh.
Here are some of my advices to avoid these types of scam attacks:

1. Always be aware from implausible offers or a higher payment offers. Because most of the time they are the first step of a scam attack. In this situation mostly people become greedy and make wrong decisions.

2. Never trust fully someone who send you DMs or continuously do it or even force you. When you receive a DM which may be a good proposal or a bad attempt. So always verify it and deal with causion.

3. Verify proposals from outside of Freelancing marketplace. Even you may be scammed in a reputated marketplace like Fiverr or anything else. Because I saw there are also users who try to scam service sellers.

4. Keep your personal data and accounts secured and use an alternative profile to deal with these suspicious proposals. Always use another layer of Authentication for the best security of your accounts.

5. Accuse them publicly to prevent them and to make conscious among the users. It will help others to be aware from such attempts and will be able to keep them safe.

Thanks for sharing with us. Hope this one will help others to make more awareness.

This is interesting. I have been a moderator for various crypto projects on Telegram and once on Discord, but I have never experienced this kind of attack. Although my work is mostly on Telegram, the only form of attack I do have is from an already known scamming method: either they want to convince me that they have an offer for me through my DM, which I usually ignore, or any offer that requires me to trust a stranger with funds counts me out.

Another pattern of scam that I do experience as a moderator is from all these fake project promoters, who will have to share with you a link that consists of hundreds to thousands of members in different social networks, and we want the project I moderate to be shilled on to groups, but when I try asking them to show me proof of ownership in those groups, they always fail to provide a convincing action, as I always realize that those pages or groups do not belong to them.
