According to your registration date you have been around this forum and this market since 2018, I would suppose that someone that has been around this market for so long should have an idea already of the type of coins they want to hold and the ones they should avoid.

However since the halving is still so far away and the altcoin season is even farther away my recommendation is that you only hold strong altcoins, and only once we are incredibly close to the altcoin season you may decide to take a risk by investing in the coins you think could give you the best performance during that period of time.

With the lsdefi trend. I think the most coin that good is ethereum as there are plenty of lsd platform that benefited on ethereum staking. Also theres chance for some airdrops from remarkable defi project by boosting on their tvl. Well if you are into defi then eth is the best you could utilize while holding. But there are many projects that have potential in my opinion that could make x10 or more in the coming bull run.

For my ETH there is not the slightest doubt. Well, on the last point you mentioned, there are many who can even produce 10x. Well, related to that I think either I or someone else must also be looking for the best reference. Yeah, at least there's a bear sleeping there. or if there is a network option like BSC if someone is still running the Alcoins bounties campaign for example, I think it's also interesting to see.

For me, I'm going on the altcoins that have already been here since before. Ethereum is my top 1 and next is Dogecoin.
I remember before on previous bull runs, I can see Dogecoin is starting to really before we saw a parabolic run on Bitcoin.
So for me, Since Dogecoin is cheap altcoin, I can buy more and high reward also because all-time high of this altcoin is too high.

It's great that you understand that new altcoins are born every day and there are literally thousands of them. That's why always avoid investing in altcoins. Because most of them will have no value in the future.

For me, the only altcoin I have invested in ETH. They are the pioneer in smart contract world and no one can beat them. So my portfolio contains only ETH and Bitcoin. No need for a third one to be honest.

Ethereum is actually a good choice, but never expect that it will be as profitable like bitcoin when bitcoin halving is finally around. From the world itself altcoin, it’s just an alternative coin if you want to diversify your investment aside from bitcoin. However, seeing the market becomes more unpredictable at the moment, I cannot risk my money investing even in established altcoin. Bitcoin is enough for me. If ever I want to diversify, maybe not anymore in the crypto world but most likely in physical investments like real estate or gold.

If it's just with altcoins, most of the dex have their own tokens and you should stick to the one that has high liquidity or else you may want to get into those cex tokens.

I guess its not that many are underestimating it but realistically speaking not everyone have the money to invest in bitcoin with its high value.
$100 investment will just be some measly investment even if it rise reaching its former all time high the investment won't grow that much because of course the investment amount isn't that much.
frankly investing in altcoin is better for those with smaller capital for investment to start out then later on they could accumulate their bitcoin and holding it for long.
after all bitcoin have lesser risk of just vanishing into thin air but it will certainly takes time.

It doesn't have to be that a lot to invest in Bitcoin.

But I do get that someone will think of profiting more with altcoins than of Bitcoin. Like $100 will just have to be $200 not too long enough and bitcoin has to double its value.

It's like the safe haven and someone who's long term on this market should choose bitcoin and afterwards, that's the time to touch some altcoins that can have more gains than btc.

XRP seems like a good one since there's a chance the price can pump up (if not already) due to the SEC issue they have (which they're winning from last I heard of). LTC is also having it's halving, and while I have doubts whether its pump is going to benefit it in the long run, at the very least we should be able to see some waves in the short run (so probably not the best to accumulate since you're immediately selling after the halving). The rest of my personal options would be SOL, ETH, and Matic. You can't go wrong with ETH imo, and the other two are just personally what I want to buy.

ARB arbitrum is one of my favorites coins at the moment, it's a layer 2 coin with scalability solution so it'll be very helpful in the coming bull market, Ethereum hasn't gotten everything in order and will need help with its Blockchain scalability problems and that's where arbitrum comes in. Arbitrum is similar to polygon but far more superior so alots of project will need it.
Arbitrum also has a very good circulation of tokens available to the market with just above 1 billions circulations supply and it's also among the top 50 popular altcoins by market capitalization and has room for growth to take it to top 20 or top 10. It has a market value of a billion plus and can get upto 10 billion in the bull market which will take the price to $10 and above
Arbitrum is already listed on some of the most popular exchange which means it would be hard for them to be a scam project and has a higher possibility of them lasting in the market and having a similar market capitalization of Polygon. Arbitrum has projects already migrating to their blockchain and they haven't recorded any major setback on the blockchain.

Am not discouraging you from investing in altcoin, but you should invest just little amount of money in altcoin, it’s better you just invest most of your money in bitcoin and you are going to have peace of mind, their is nothing like strong altcoin because any altcoin can fail us, we all saw things that happened last year in crypto space, that alone can show that no altcoin should be trusted.

It’s better you invest in bitcoin because it’s going to be painful to hold a coin for long term maybe when the bull run is about to start, the coin ends up crashing how are you going to feel, that’s why you should invest in a coin that you are confident that it’s not going to crash, and the only coin that I know that can’t crash is bitcoin, so it’s better you invest in a coin that will give you peace of mind.

If you are into a long-term investment, then I would suggest Ethereum and BNB.
But if you are just into short-term goals, then you can choose hyped projects.

It was you who could decide which platform to use when it comes to exchanges and the projects that you want to invest in. You also have to do research just to make sure that you are doing it right and you minimizing the risk. I don't know what is the best altcoin rating for you but for me it could be ETH, and I also think if you accumulate and wait for the next bull run, you can expect profits earned with the investment it. But honestly, this personal research in crypto market investing has a lot to say, like the capital you invested, the process you are ready for, or the level of return you are expecting, etc. With altcoins we can easily find a lot of different things as well as risks and opportunities can appear, and in the context of the current market is quite harsh, I think OP needs to consider carefully with all your decisions.

Seeing a lot of new altcoins in the market these days, which I believe most of them are incapable to sustain their future growth, then I must say I should still stick to ethereum. Regardless of how slow its price hike, but in the end I know its value is still capable to markup. So I suggest go with ethereum if you want to diversify your crypto investment. It’s not how profitable your investment at the moment, but it’s more on how long it will be sustainable and if it has the ability to maintain its growth in the future.

The price doesn't really matter as long as it was promising. Because before, I keep on hunting for cheap coins and invested a lot but unfortunately, it never works as I expected, it become shitcoins after all. That is why choosing the right coins (have a use case) is very important even if the price is a little bit high because as long as it was active that was our assurance that it will grow in the future. In fact, many of the top 20 altcoins are useless, there are some new projects that are even more profitable than with them.

Go oldies. Ethereum and BNB. Although Binance has a case against SEC right now, it's not like they cannot win it.
I would avoid altcoins that are new if you are also new to the industry. That way you can avoid stepping on a trap which is scam coins or dust coins without any product that can back them up.
Whenever I am asked this kind of question like what new coins are good to invest with, I don't really answer them but instead find a way to make them understand what they will be entering in case their mind is already decided to buy something new.
We cannot please everybody, but we can warn them about what could happen. Don't start an investment with high risk projects, try the old ones first and understand how the market works.

It's great that you understand that new altcoins are born every day and there are literally thousands of them. That's why always avoid investing in altcoins. Because most of them will have no value in the future.

In the future, almost all altcoins will have no value, but by the next bullrun, some of them may well skyrocket in price. That is what OP is asking.

In principle, almost all altcoins from the top-10 / 20 and the next grow in price during a bullrun. Therefore, it is possible to buy altcoins in equal proportions from the upper groups of the coinmarketcap. Either the same top-10/20, or selectively from the top-50/100. This is what is called diversification. Betting only 1 altcoin may be less profitable than this option.
