There's no special place where lost bitcoin can be collected or retrieved other than the use of the very wallet private keys and if the private keys (seed phrase) is lost then your bitcoin in that wallet is lost forever and better be forgotten.
That is why we are advise to safely secure and store or private keys to avoid losing our coins .

Fortunately, I haven't lost my Bitcoins permanently, but I did lose some funds from trading. Detecting the exact number of Bitcoins lost forever is challenging. Some sources identify Bitcoins that haven't moved for a long time, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are lost forever. There's no way to collect missing Bitcoin addresses or private keys from any sources. It's not a practical question, as finding private keys would mean the Bitcoins aren't considered lost.

Sorry to hear about your losses. This is really huge in current price. You should forget them and move on.
There is no way to know about how many Bitcoin disappear forever. To mean it I will say that they don't disappeared but their access have been lost. But if you send to a wrong address it will still show in Blockchain but you will have no way to access it.

And there is no way or any solution to retrieve lost Bitcoins and no one can access his Bitcoin without Seed Phrase or a Private key. So when you have forgotten or lost your backup that means you lost if forever and no one will be able to retrieve it. That's why we must secure our backups to a safest place.

I lost some Bitcoin by sending it to a wrong address which is really hard to accept. I will advise to recheck your sending address several times and do it seriously when making a transection.

There is no way to find how many bitcoins are lost forever. Very often we see Bitcoins that are sleeping in wallets for years are moved. So if coins are sleeping or not moved even then we cant say that they are lost forever. But there is consent that there is huge number of bitcoins that are gone forever. Its because in early days people took Bitcoin for-granted and didnt cared much about there Bitcoin's when its price was under 1$.

The supply of bitcoin is immutable, so no bitcoins are actually lost or deleted forever as you are trying to put it. Only kicked out of circulation through people losing access to their cryptocurrencies and all that. There's a possibility for these people to access these coins once again and sell them which will drive the price of bitcoin lower but at the same time it's a little improbable especially in cases where it's saved on self-custodial wallets. Sorry to hear about you losing out on so much bitcoin. If I'm not mistaken and if you still have the drive where you saved those bitcoins, certain programs and companies are out there with the sole purpose of providing assistance in regaining access to your bitcoins so you can get them back although not really sure about the authenticity of these entities. Still worth a try especially if you're getting desperate.

There is no way to steal people's BTC if you don't have their keys, you can only prove ownership of BTC if you have the private keys; if there was a way the network allowed people steal BTC's that don't belong to them, then BTC would have been dead by now.

There is no way to know that BTC in an address is lost, even if the funds have not moved for a very long time, it could be that the owner of the funds is a long term holder. There have been too many posts of late about lost BTC and how to recover or collect them like this op said, lost BTC are lost and they reduce the circulating supply and make your coins and mine worth a little more.

this is why it is said those are lost forever. so it means forever, and not recoverable at any given point. if you don't have the keys, you can't possibly get it back.
and that number, no one even the experts know how much was lost. we can't determine as we don't know how many forgot to recover their coins, or how many of those addresses will remain untouched.

Whoops, sorry about the missing Bitcoins. These are the breaks that you've got to take

So, to address that, let me say this. Measurement of Bitcoins Misplaced... Quite the test! Especially considering that the blockchain itself lacks a "Lost & Found" counter! The truth is, you can either laugh or cry about it. If you forget your private key, your Bitcoins will disappear like socks in the dryer.

Wow, you managed to lose ten Bitcoins back in 2011! Lets not go there, buddy. It's just not worth the pain. And me? I guess Im cautious; I havent misplaced any of mine. Knock on wood!

Not your keys, not your coins.

Your private keys or seed phrase are proves that you own the Bitcoin in a wallet and if you don't have it then you're not the owner. If you lost your private keys or seed phrase, there's no way to recover your bitcoin, for it is gone forever. Move on and learn from your mistake. Next time, write it down on a clear piece of paper and keep it somewhere safe, you can keep it in more than one locations. Also, you can use a metallic steel to write down your seed phrase.

I don't know which site can identify lost bitcoins (not moving) but so far I haven't found that, but someone else might know.

I have 10 lost ,I lost them in 2011.the price in that year is less than $1😄
By 10 BTC do you mean you lost in 2011? That's $290K at current prices, but do you still remember the wallet it was in?

And you?
I've never lost bitcoins because the private key was lost, always make a backup copy to keep the private key so it's really safe.

ITB (IntoTheBlock) is one of the analysts who stated about the research of counting how much BTC lost. They claimed we probably already lost around 29% of BTC. But it is concluded from no movement on those BTC, they haven't moved for many years. Not sure whether the approach is accurate enough, they only analyzed it on 1 factor only.

Take a look here https://cryptopotato.com/this-is-how-much-bitcoin-btc-has-been-lost-forever-itb-data/

I have 10 lost ,I lost them in 2011.the price in that year is less than $1😄
10 lost? Do you mean 10 BTC or lost it 10 times?
It is very unfortunate, but it gives you a big lesson, right?  Smiley

And you?
I never lost any BTC so far. I have learned a lot about how to keep it in a safe way. I hope I will never experience to lose any of my BTC.  Smiley

According to my understanding, if you lost your private key, your bitcoin is gone forever this because no one can be able to spend the bitcoin in the wallet unless if someone has access to the private key.

Hard luck for your bitcoin lost.

I recently stumbled upon a Google search, and it caught my attention that newsbtc released a report stating that Six Million BTC Are Out Of Circulation Forever. This suggests that if their report is accurate, six million Bitcoin have been lost. However, I personally think the actual number might be higher, though I cannot confirm the accuracy of the report. It's possible that some of these "out of circulation" Bitcoins could resurface in the future as their owners may be holding them long-term.

Their report cannot be accurate, it is just an estimation like every other estimations about lost BTC, there cannot be an accurate report on the number of lost BTC's, because it is not possible to know the exact number that is lost.
It's possible that some of these "out of circulation" Bitcoins could resurface in the future as their owners may be holding them long-term.
That can possibly happen, it is common practice for people to think that BTC's is lost if it hasn't moved from an address for a very long time, when the owner may just be holding it for the long term.

As we lost our keys, we can no longer get our Bitcoin back. As many people become careless with their keys/password, more lost Bitcoins will be added to the circulation but there is no tool that it counts how many Bitcoin is in there. Reports can be delayed and so the recording but it was not important because even though we know how many, we can never take it back and be included in the number that we can avail in the market. To sad to say that we have to move on and forget those lost Bitcoin and learn from the mistakes that we made in the past so it won't happen again.

Or another question!

Is there a place to collect the lost bitcoins (I mean the private keys is lost, and the bitcoin in that special address stay there forever) Cheesy
I know lots of bitcoin have been lost, some people that bought bitcoin at the early stage already lost access to their wallet because they didn’t expect bitcoin to be great, so they were not serious with the bitcoin they had then, but theirs know way to know the amount of bitcoin that have been lost, a wallet might be inactive for a long period of time those not mean the owner already loses access to the wallet, the owner might just decide to hold the bitcoin for a long period of that that’s why the wallet is inactive, so it’s really going to be difficult to know the amount of bitcoin that have been lost.

And you?
I haven’t lost any bitcoin, and am carefully protecting the bitcoin am having currently, my private key is secure in a place where no one can easily have access to it, and it’s stored offline, so that no hacker will be able to compromise my account and have access to it.

If we completely lost our access to the private key and seed phrases then I do not think there is a way to recover them.  With that the BTC held on that wallet will also lost forever.  I do not know any method to recover the completely lost private key and seed phrases that is why we should take care of our Bitcoin holdings seriously.
This suggests that if their report is accurate, six million Bitcoin have been lost.
Their report cannot be accurate, it is just an estimation like every other estimations about lost BTC, there cannot be an accurate report on the number of lost BTC's, because it is not possible to know the exact number that is lost.

An estimation is never an accurate data. It is a guess on a certain range so it does not accurately tell how many BTC were lost over the course of these years.  So I agree that it is not accurate.

I recently stumbled upon a Google search, and it caught my attention that newsbtc released a report stating that Six Million BTC Are Out Of Circulation Forever. This suggests that if their report is accurate, six million Bitcoin have been lost.

No! Nothing suggests that their report is accurate. Even in the tweet they shared, Timothy Peterson stated: "I estimate that..." This indicates that it's just an estimate, and nothing more.
Even if you read the entire article in the link that Mr. Peterson shared, you will see that there is no concrete evidence of lost coins; rather, they used a specific methodology to estimate the amount of lost coins. There's no way to know if their methodology is even remotely accurate.

However, I personally think the actual number might be higher...

Based on what?

R

I have 10 lost ,I lost them in 2011.the price in that year is less than $1😄
That’s a lot of bitcoins, so sorry for your loss. I hope that’s not all you had, it will be comforting if you had some bitcoins stored in a different wallet. 2011 was a different time and people were not as cautious of their bitcoin as they are now because of the price value.

Is there a place to collect the lost bitcoins (I mean the private keys is lost, and the bitcoin in that special address stay there forever) Cheesy
There is no way to recover lost bitcoins, I have read articles online about softwares that generate thousands of private keys that may or may not contain some lost bitcoins, there has been no record of success and I don’t think anyone should waste his time on such treasure hunt.
