What a timely post!

For a newbie like me who's still trying to settle down and make a meaningful impact here, this was highly inspiring to read!

Well, one thing I have come to understand is, consistency is a by-product of discipline. Thus, staying consistent with a goal requires strong mental affirmation of consistent commitment, otherwise nothing meaningful can be achieved.

It's not been easy for me to earn merit here and I'm not sure how it works. Sometimes I ask, do I have to make meaningful posts first to earn merits OR can I earn merits from meaningful contributions?... I don't have an answer to this yet. However, I have been patient enough to stay consistent recently while hoping that with time I will grow!

This is also an encouragement to all newbies reading this, if we stay committed, learn the process, and show up consistently, we will grow eventually.

This is exactly my case and why I became interested in bitcoin. I have heard about bitcoin and read about it but I didn't have that close friend that will lead me to it. I never had the guys to make move myself. Even if I did, I would have ended up in one of those exchanges that winded up.

But 2020, I was scammed. But it wasn't through bitcoin but I made the payment with bitcoin. And that was my first bitcoin transaction. After I discovered it was a scam, that was when I made up my mind to understand this bitcoin I used to make  scam payment. I didn't just give up but I studied the bitcoin and later landed in this forum.

So don't think Bitcoin and Bitcointalk are any different from life.

Yes, you are right, in achieving success, of course we have to make a persistent struggle to achieve it. On our way to success, of course we have many challenges and this will be a lesson for if we have achieved that success. There will always be a system of hierarchy everywhere. Now, it can be taken in a positive way wherein people will be able to work hard to achieve a higher position in the hierarchy or they can take it in a negative way wherein they believe there is a barrier between the different levels in the hierarchy which pushes for inequality. Personally, I take it the same way yous stated, I use it as a way for people of a higher level than I am to guide me and to learn from them. I take them as an example.

I keep seeing forum members make complaints about not getting merits and all. It will be very hypocritical of me to say we shouldn't care about merit and ranking up, but your desire to rank up should lead you in the right direction.
The goal is to learn and grow, then make meaningful contributions that can grow other forum members. It's not going to be easy, and it will take time, but it will be worth it in the end.

This doesn't only apply to the forum but to every aspect of life.
Take a business for example.
The goal of a business is to make a profit but you can't make a profit if certain things are not done right. If you just pursue profit without thinking about other factors, your business will fail.
If your product/service is top-notch, your marketing, packaging, and distribution are done right along with other factors, you will make a profit.
The same thing applies to every aspect of life. A degree, career, or anything at all.

Generally, nothing good in life comes easy you have to pay a price for whatever kind of situation, condition or position you want to attain in life. Doing the extraordinary in your line of business, or even in the forum puts you closers to your desired expectations in life.  In the forum for instance, for you to grow in ranks you must learn and grow yourself as a person in knowledge and that knowledge would in turn reflect in your discussions in the forum determining your merit attractions by the quality of what you give out.

Same with business, some people are not growing in their line of business because they are redundant with old knowledge of what they knew before starting the business, while their counterparts in same business have gone ahead of them paying for advance courses training and learning about the new innovations and techniques that have evolved about their business, they now put in all these new acquired knowledge into their business causing it to attract more customers and growth. You have to work like your life depends on it and you have to tolerate all the negative bs and mitigate it, deflect it, deny it and press on and continue striving for greatness. I like that part of working smart because many people are still thinking and believing in the old ways of having to live life and make ends meet. They believe for you to succeed you have to have alot of energy to do physical jobs, no , because things have changed and we also need to change and adapt to that changed environment. The COVID-19 showed alot of example on how possible the internet could be explored and from then many businesses have moved offices to online and new business opportunities are opening up daily.

Destiny is not something to think about because all human beings must try to change themselves to be better and more successful so that there is no word for anyone to blame about their own destiny. Well there are different takes from different people from this. Some would just continue to persist doing the same thing over and over again thinking that just by consistency would lead to success.

Not sure why would you link the forum to this as the rank doesn't even matter and it does not certainly tell the whole story of how much you know about Bitcoin. Some legendary members there are just plainly ranked before the merit system was implemented in the forum.
