First, do not accept any kind of help in private. There are a lot of scammers here, and you should have only public discussions.

It looks like you have the private key, but your balance shows zero.

Do you remember which were the first characters of your addresses with balance? I believe you are having a problem with the derivation path.

You should try derivation path for all 3 main address formats

Create 3 new wallets, one for each of these derivation  path and see if it works

First, do not accept any kind of help in private. There are a lot of scammers here, and you should have only public discussions.

It looks like you have the private key, but your balance shows zero.

Do you remember which were the first characters of your addresses with balance? I believe you are having a problem with the derivation path.

You should try derivation path for all 3 main address formats

Create 3 new wallets, one for each of these derivation  path and see if it works

To do so you need to restore using the seed phrase. You said you have the seed.

Create a new wallet, select I have the seed, and then try all paths.

To do so you need to restore using the seed phrase. You said you have the seed.

Create a new wallet, select I have the seed, and then try all paths.

Did you create the seed (originally) using electrum? If so, do not  check bip39 seed

The error says that you are signing your transaction with a wrong private key.
You have purchased the wallet file. Am I right? If so, the seller gave you a corrupted wallet file and you have been scammed.


Someone created a similar topic reporting the same error when trying to make a transaction.

As you can see old transactions, you are in the correct wallet and derivation path

Try this code in the console.

As you can see old transactions, you are in the correct wallet and derivation path

Try this code in the console.

Okay assuming the original wallet was regenerated using Electrum and you have the correct seed. Before we more move forward:

It is a little bit strange how you can't recover your btc using the PK of the address containing funds.
I'm not a technical expert but I thought this suggestion might help you find a solution. Have you thought about using the file with an older version of Electrum? Or use the same old version on the same laptop that you found. In this case, it is not important that the wallet connects to the Internet. All we want is that you can be able to sign a transaction that includes the entire amount on the wallet to a new address. Broadcasting the transaction can be done using a new Electrum wallet connected to the Internet on another device.

OK. As I said, your wallet file is probably corrupted and that's why you get that error when trying to make a tranasction.

It's possible that the xpub and xprv you have in your wallet file are wrong and your addresses can't be derived from them.
Don't you get the following error when you open the wallet?

first of all note down the address(es) with balance
then you can go to this website https://iancoleman.io/bip39/  and save the page locally (after that disconnect internet access)
open your original electrum wallet file with notepad and copy the xpub from keystore.
Open the saved page on your computer and enter your xpub value in the BIP32 Root Key field.
After that click on BIP32 tab and see if your address is in the list.
From here you can generate more addresses on the same derivation path or change the derivation path until you find the address you are looking for.
After you find the correct settings you can replace the xpub value in the BIP32 Root Key field with the xprv key from electrum wallet file and it will generate the coresponding private keys which you can import in your preferred wallet (bitcoin core / electrum)

Since it passed and proceeded to sign the transaction with the wrong key, the master private key is valid but it's not related to the txn's input.

For the record, you're the second one to report this in bitcointalk and with the exact same "wallet.dat" wallet file name.
Since you insist that it's not bought or tampered, it may be a new attack to edit wallet file contents to the attacker's addresses or scheme of fake Electrum wallets, or just a "lucky" corruption which resulted with a valid master private key.

you can also try to import the xprv key directly
just copy the xprv key
in electrum chose File -> New / Restore
Select standard wallet
After that select "Use a master key"
Paste your xprv key in there and thats all
it should work without any problem

something is wrong with your electrum wallet for sure.
can you share an address with a balance?
if you right click on your wallet (electrum one) and select open with "Notepad" do you see that address there

also from where do you have wallet.dat? i have read the full topic but didnt understood what that file has to do with your electrum wallet file which doesnt contain the extension .dat
did you name your wallet "wallet.dat" when you have created it in electrum?
