While altcoins come and go with their flashy airdrops, nothing holds a candle to Bitcoin. 25 Bitcoins for only testing transactions? That level of generosity surpasses that of any other altcoin. Anyone interested in cryptocurrency who hasnt thoroughly researched Bitcoin's history and market dominance is deluding themselves.

While chasing these new tokens in the hopes of earning large sums through airdrops, many often overlook the enormous obstacle in their path. Bitcoin remains the dominant cryptocurrency going forward. Selling it for ephemeral altcoins? amateurish motion. Holding onto Bitcoin is the best strategy, as true believers are aware.

Bitcoin back then it's like any free airdrop nowadays in crypto which is more likely doesn't have any value yet. I have a lot of airdropped NFT's but mostly doesn't have any value. Maybe the good projects that have utilities and roadmap could even reach around $100-$200, but those airdrop for sure it wouldn't be easy unless you've registered or you have been contributing on the project. Damn BTC25 if only anyone have a diamond hands back then despite its value back then would be living the dream right now. That's why it's advisable that if you think some coin who doesn't have any acknowledgement yet, just HODL. We couldn't predict it so the best thing to do even on other alternative coins is to HODL them. For sure BTC airdrop nowadays is not a thing anymore since everyone knows the potential and value of Bitcoin.

I wonder how long did the person who received those airdrop hold the Bitcoin. And definitely how much did they earned after they sell those Bitcoins, assuming they already sold it. I really wish they hold it until it was worth $1M, they definitely wouldn't expect that. I really hope I know Bitcoin sooner, not like in 2009 or something since I lived in 3rd world country, but at least way before it went mainstream in my country. I only know it after everyone build their mining Rig.

Don't underestimate something that might not look good at first because no one knows how it will turn out in the future. Bitcoin's early launch didn't make people interested in owning it even if they could get it through a faucet.

But things have changed and those of us who are new to crypto want to go back to those days to own bitcoins for free. We all may miss those days, but we can't go back to those days. And right now, we can only keep trying to own as many bitcoins as possible. That's it, and let it be a beautiful memory for us, especially for those who have received prizes in the form of bitcoins in the early days of its launch.

Yeah, a lot imploded but I know a few people sitting on millions of dollars since their 15000 shares have now split twice and are trading at $75
But, it was worthless back then.

Yes, not a perfect analogy since there were a lot of places that did implode. But some people made out really well.

Well, in as much as 25 bitcoins is no child's play at the moment, and getting them for free today in a supposed airdrop will sure be the airdrop with the highest value in history, but i cant say same for it for way back 2009, in 2009, 25 bitcoins were worth nothing, and those who got it probably did nothing with it, its either they did not take bitcoin serious since its worth nothing, and because of this, loss access to their wallet, or they sold and a withdraw the money as soon as the price of bitcoin hit $0.5 dollars(50 cents), which ever be the case for a benefactor of the airdrop in both sceneries i mentioned be, the fact is that the airdrop didn't benefit them, except there be any among those who got the airdrop and luckily are still holding, then such a person can indeed say that the airdrop is the highest in history for him or her.

I am just a kind of person who believes in the value of something when its given or earned, not the value in the future, to call an airdrop the most valuable in history, it has to be worth the said value at the time the airdrop was given or earned, not based on future value.

The price of bitcoin as at then was worth nothing though but as time went on the price appreciated to a good value which if anyone holding till this very moment would have something tangible or must have become a millionaire.

These days airdrops are given without any monetary value attached and as time goes on they get listed, you will notice they list high and gradually the price of that coin or token fades away but bitcoin wasn't so instead it grew stronger and became valuable over the years. Atleast we can categorize that to be tangible in the sense that long term holders got something of good value and it was meaningful and reasonable to them holding that moment of sales.

Yep, that is the most amazing airdrop ever in the crypto world. It's really very lucky people who take part in the bitcoin airdrop. If the people who took part in the bitcoin airdrop continued to hold onto the bitcoins they owned until 2021, surely they would have received enormous and abundant profits.

But let it be past, make it a lesson and motivation for all of us. So that we always look far ahead, to the potentials that exist in the altcoins that exist today. Because it could be, there are altcoins that will have very expensive prices in the future. Because if you look back, all altcoins that have high prices, like ETH for example, used to have very low prices. So it is possible, in the future there will be more altcoins that have high/expensive market prices. Therefore, hodl and hodl can indeed be very profitable if you choose the right altcoin.
But even so, analyzing the altcoins that will be hodl is something that is very mandatory. Because if for example you only manage, but without doing a thorough analysis, of course this will most likely not have a good impact in the end.

So for now, we have to maximize our analytical skills, then choose and buy altcoins that have been analyzed (good potential), then hodl on until the price explodes and is really expensive.

But I guess there were many unrecorded Bitcoin giveaways, gifts, donations, or whatever that's higher than that. If Laszlo could easily give away 10,000BTC in mid-2010 for just two pizzas, how much more in 2009? If Gavin in 2010 easily donated a total of almost 20,000BTC to be given away just for solving a captcha, how much more the donations in early 2009 when Bitcoin didn't even have a price yet? Even on this forum, there were users who donated as big as 50BTC. But that wasn't much back then.

If we are talking about bitcoin Airdrops, then the 19700 BET from Gavin is one of the biggest in bitcoin history. But we are talking about the old day when the bitcoin price was lower than $1.

I would say the casinos have apport the biggest "BTC airdrops" in the past years, Just think about how many people have claimed the faucet on Freebitco, or how many people get prizes on the casino, or tips in the chats. I remember in 2014 how the casino called Luckybit used to have a nice Chat Lotto, where people post their address and the chat lotto sends BTC direct to the user's address, the normal prize was between 0.005 - 0.001 btc, and in the happy hours they pay crazy lottos up to 1btc.
