Useful information for Nigerian newbies

It is a nice topic and the Problem newbies face in the forum is to obey the local and general rules. They are not ready to obey the rules so the forum became difficult for them. A simple instructions and it is ringing every day to every ears to avoid duplication thread and low quality post. And always do not all at least 90 percent to create or discuss cryptocurrency related issues but they divert to other discussion which has nothing to the local board.

For the creation of new topic, before I create a topic even though I didn't use the forum/google search box, I would refreshed the local board page and checked through the first and the second page and if I did not see the particular thread then I create my own. Though I have not seen established members duplicating topics like that, they are rare just few but it is a part of newbies in the forum or local board. So what you have done is a very good job and if the newbies are really ready to learn. For the question the Nigga asked, he has to make quality posts and that is all. Good character also paid in the forum.

I noticed that you have created a thread on beginners and help. Read what other posters have posted there. I think we do not need to repeat what has already the posted there. You can read the OP (opening post) in this thread to get some valuable information as well.

Know that Bitcointalk was created by Satoshi Nakamoto, the person or group that created bitcoin. So discussion about bitcoin are valuable on this forum, but you can check the other boards on this forum from the home page, look for boards of interests.

I have a questions? what are the things newbies should do to earn more merit, and what is the advantages of merit, also and also what should encourage the newbies to get more post.we are new in the forum so we still need, some guide so that we can meet up with our daily post.

actually I may not be the right person to answer this question but from the little I have learnt from my few time here is that the need to learn from higher members here is very important because it educate you on how to make a quality post and also advise able going through other sections to learn about there posting pattern, after acquiring some knowledge you will see that your level and pattern of posting will change and being more informative as such interesting readers.

@charles-Tim, you’re truly a great asset to the local board and I always run out of rewards to appreciate the good works you do in the forum and I must at least commend your selfless services to the local board as well as to the newbies and I must say that the current newbies are already on a better track as the local board is growing more healthier by the day and post like his are what we expect to see more in the forum and local board.

This thread is excellent. Honestly this topic is quite beneficial, especially for those of us who are newbie to this place and are unsure of where to begin. At least with this simple format's, we will be able to move our leaning ahead.

This is how they want a leader to be. Thank you Mr. Charles-Tim, for showing us love on our local board. How also like it if order leaders use defferences structures format's like yours. It will really gives us new members encouragement and keeps us from getting lost in this forum.

The main reason I included this is because many forum members said it can be used as a better search engine. All you have to do is to go to the website, click on the menu at the upper left corner, click on posts and search for the topic or post that you want to search for.

Ninjastic.space has many other functions. It is good for looking for deleted posts, checking of users bitcoin wallet or altcoin wallet addresses posted on this forum, even if it has been deleted. It can also be used to look for user's posts on the boards the user is very active, this can be done through the user ID. It has other functions and worth visiting.

I am really impressed seeing such a thread here on naija local board, this thread will definitely help everyone and not just newbies. I learned a new thing form this thread as well and you will be surprised if i tell you this is my first time i am coming across the bitcoin address staking thread which is also very important thread in the forum.

The board is now more alike a place on its own where one can stay without really visiting other boards because almost everything is made available for its users now. It’s more busy than i remembered it to be few months back and its good how we are taking the newbies along as well.

Actually, @Hyphen, you are on point. The thread isn't just for beginners, as knowledgeable people are always interested in learning more about the things they don't comprehend in order to gain more experience or precisely what they desire.This life is all about how we stand; the the more we study, the more we can accomplish.

Yes, I appreciate the update.
This website is particularly useful for users who do not have the BPIP Extension installed on their system or devices because it displays everything about the account, including the section where the user spends the most time writing, the amount of posts each board, and the overall percentage. Also, as you mentioned, you may check deleted posts, addresses used, and other information from the website; in fact, it provides general information about a user once the user's UID is entered.

TalkImg guide

I have noticed that not all beginners do know how to use the TalkImg, to upload image or sometimes face issues in generating image links. Here is a proper guide to it :

When you click the link TalkImg.com - Image hosting 4 BitcoinTalk, the image above is what you will see and when you click on the green box you are redirected to the TalkImg page

In the first image click on the start uploading , which is shown to you on the image above by the green arrow to be directed to the next  image, then you can select as many of photos you want from your device and also you can either click browse you see on the second image above in order to easily get to the part where the picture is on your device or just clicking on the camera to access your device camera and take a photo of what you want to upload but keep in mind that the size of the image you can upload should be less than 3mb.
The part circled red can allow you zoom in and out in order to get a clearer view of the image you want to upload.The part squared in color cyan , is clicked once you are done selecting the image.


On this page, the green arrow takes you to the editing page while the cyan arrow allow you to remove an image you don't want to upload. If you don't want to do any of those two you can simply click on the Upload botton to redirected to the next page.


The first image shows the editing page where you can optionally change the title of your image and also add description about your image but the resize image Here, allow change the width and height of your image and this is mostly why the editing page is been use.
Once you are done editing just click the Submit button which will redirect you to the previous page, that is, the image before this one and then you click on the Upload button

When you get to this page, you can simply click green circle to copy the image link and use it on your post.
When you click on the arrow , you given some options

Which are being used on various occasions and one of the options give you a link to image like this : https://www.talkimg.com/images/2023/10/28/T4qVD.jpeg which is the direct links option

then you can just copy the link by clicking on the green circle

Replies in this regard means any other posts aside topics. For the forum's notification, the notifications are sent to the email you used to register on this forum.


Notification of new topic
This forum has notification for topics and replies. If you want to be notified of new topic on a particular board, go to the board, you will see 'notify' beside 'new topic'. I am referring to new topic which you can click on to create and post a topic. Click on notify. With this, you will be notified of new topic that is posted on that board. The notification will be sent to your email.

Note: If you do not visit a new topic that you have been notified on a particular board through the email, you will no longer get notifications on the board until you visit the board.


Notification of new reply
On the thread you want to be notified of new replies, you will see 'notify' beside 'reply' (the reply you can click on to make new post), click on it (I mean click on 'notify' that is beside 'reply'. But ones you have been notified of the next post and you do not visit the thread, you will no longer get notification of other replies on the thread until you visit the thread again, but I think that is good because it will not create disturbance.

If you want to be notified of merits and mentions, this will be very helpful. You can also use it to track a thread, but the notifications may be disturbing if you track a thread with it because as people are posting on the thread, you will be getting the notification of each single post.

The first link will be about notification of mentions. If you are mentioned in a post, you will be notified. The second link will be about you following a user on this forum, in a way that if the person reply under a thead, you will be notified or if the person post a topic, you will be be notified. I'm now using "tracked phrases" and everything works perfectly. I had issues with my notifications bot after changing my name and removing my custom title, so I set my tracked phrases to "ige, igebotz, igehhh, sheriff" and I get notified whenever any of these phrases are mentioned in a post..
